He turned around and saw Pansy's face. The girl who hung out with him and his group. The girl who let him place his head in her lap and the same girl who looked astonished the first time he told her he had gotten the Death Eater mark and had become one of the henchmen for the Dark Lord.

"What do you want?" He asked her irritably. This was how he usually answered her, but this time it was mixed with impatience. 

She noticed it too.

"Why are you here? You hate that Gryffindork so why...?" She asks quietly, hoping no one could hear her.

"What do you mean? I caused this bloody mess so now I face the consequences..."

"He made you miserable Draco." She reminds him, fully-knowing his pain. Every day crying himself to sleep... Everyday complaining about the golden boy getting what he wanted. Everyday comparing himself to the boy who lived and why he was so much better.

"He did nothing wrong and I realize that now. He was put into a spotlight he himself did not know about until he joined the school."

"Can't you see?!?! He doesn't care! He considered you his enemy for the longest time!" She says, raising her voice. 

"I am no longer against him Pansy. I am no longer part of the Death Eaters and I am much less going to be part of the group anymore if they do not come to terms with our current positions. We lost the war. You took no one's side so who are you to talk huh? You ran off!"

She looks at him, anger spreading through her face. She knows this was true... After encouraging the idea of giving Harry to Lord Voldemort, she had faced the consequences of everyone going up against her at Hogwarts. Slytherin's, Ravenclaw's... everyone. 

Why?

Because she was too scared to take a side.

"He doesn't want you to be his friend! Why get attached to someone who doesn't even love you like I do!!" She screams.
