So here I am just listening to music. Some of the good old days stuff, ya know, like Rihanna, Shakira, Justin Timberlake, etc.

And then I listen to the lyrics.

Now I used to love most of the songs that came out back then because I was a little kid that still lived in England and every now and then I'd go to this kids club (like a club as in similar to a bar) and I'd go there with my friends. So in that club we had a dance room and that's where I learned to love most of the songs.

So as I was saying, I was just listening to some of the nostalgic songs and then i realized, "Hold on, this song sounds a lot dirtier than I last remember it...."

In my defense I used to be a kid so I cared more about the beat than the lyrics.

But holy shit the lyrics made me think, how many songs did I listen to that actually referred to something sexual.

I'll give an example. Does anyone remember the song with the phrase "sticks and stones many break my bones"?

Yeah well that song has a bit of text that I just learned.

"Sticks and stones may break my bones,
But chains and whips excite me."
And I'm like: WTF. And the song was called S&M as in Sadism and Masochism.

Oooooooooof childhood ruined.

Anyone else have these encounters where you used to love a song as a kid but then you realized what the lyrics meant/referred to?
