Chapter Nineteen
No this book hasn't ended yet.
Too many kits in the nursery. Too many warriors. Breezestar ordered more warriors to extend the camp. It didn't help too much. Ugh, I forgot the kits. Barkkit and Featherkit will become apprentices soon, he suddenly pictured in his mind Barkpaw and Featherpaw. A voice knocked him out of his mind.
"Why do you want us to extend the camp?"
"Because we have too much warriors, we need more space," Breezestar answered. His dark gray pelt trickled with annoyance. Too many cats question. Information is not always to be told. It was kinda obvious that the camp was too small, which is why most of the cats had to go to their abandoned camps. The cat nodded and called over cats to work. Breezestar noticed that he was just talking to Fireclaw, Flamestar's mate. Breezestar narrowed his eyes. He had killed the leader in battle after Rippleclan lied to them. Breezestar saw the memory of murdering Flamestar. With Flamestar's blood in his paws, it felt like he had more power than the whole forest. But what made him weak was figuring out Ripplestar lied to them.
Breezestar sighed unhappily. Until suddenly a yowl burst out from the nursery. "Get there quickly!" Orangeleaf suddenly screeched to the other medicine cats. The yelling continued. Breezestar ran in along with them. Foxtail looked at him. "Fine," she sighed. He nodded rested his tail on Fireclaw's shoulder. "Wait, Breezestar, since when did you get so familiar with her?" Fuzzycloud asked. "Since she told me about Flamestar's kits!"
Fishtail gasped. "Shut up, Fishface!" Fireclaw was breathing hard. "Take it easy," Foxtail advised calmly. Breezestar drew his face back when he saw a bundle of brown and white fur slid out onto the moss. Foxtail pressed Fireclaw's belly. "Surprisingly, that's it. And quick. Looks healthy too." Breezestar nodded. Fireclaw was frantically lapping at the newborn kit's fur.
Fireclaw was finally finished with this madness. She was expecting kits only one more moon before Fuzzycloud's were expected. Breezestar wondered how she felt about it. "Fuzzycloud!", he hissed. "What?" "Why did you mate with him! You know he's blind, you're a medicine cat!" Fuzzycloud's ears were burning hot with fury. "Just because he's blind doesn't mean he can't do anything! Listen to yourself!", she whispered. "And what about you being a medicine cat? Huh?" Fuzzycloud hesitated. She looked as if she would never give out an answer. Breezestar growled and released his claws. He rose them and scraped a small part of her right ear and watched her fall down. "Don't tell."
Breezestar padded out of the den, not even looking back to see Fuzzycloud while blood was trickling before her face. He then went towards the fresh kill pile. At least I can do something without being questioned, he thought. He picked up a rabbit, which he would most prefer, and took a bite out of it. He hated how he had to be told and asked for no reason.
