Chapter Thirty-Two: You're Invited!

"I'm so glad that the weekend's here." You said (R/N) when school was over on Friday. "And no homework too!"
"Yeah!" She said. "What are you doing tonight?"
"Eh, probably going to go hang out with a friend of mine." You said.
"Who is this friend of yours?" (R/N) asked.
"Just...a friend." You said.
"But can't you and your friend hang out tomorrow?" She asked. "The party's tonight."
"I guess." You said. You didn't really want to wait until tomorrow but you wanted to experience your first ever college party. "But I don't really know what to wear."
"You just wear a T-shirt and jeans." (R/N) said. "This isn't Prom, (Y/N)."
"I didn't say that it was." You said. "Anyway, I'll probably just wear a/an (F/B) shirt and a random pair of jeans."
"Wow. How fashionable." (R/N) said.
You rolled your eyes. You wondered how this party was going to go.

"Going to a party tonight. Kinda freaking out."
You texted that to Mark as soon as you were done getting ready.
"Don't let any guy take you. Because you're mine."
"You know that we're not technically dating right?"
"So? That doesn't mean that I can't still love you."
"True. Well, I'm going now."
Mark texted back a heart, which made you smile.
"Let me guess." (R/N) said. "You're talking to your friend right?"
"Yep." You said. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go to this party."
"Well, I promised Jet that I would meet him at the fountain outside of campus." (R/N) said. "Alone."
"Is that so?" You asked. You knew that something was going on. You just didn't know what. But you didn't say this to (R/N).
"Yeah." She said. "How about you stay up here and we'll come up together and pick you up?"
"Sounds good." You replied, taking your phone out of your pocket.

As soon as (R/N) left, you called Mark.
"Hey you." He said after picking up after only three rings. "I thought that you would be out partying."
"My brother wants to talk to my roommate." You said. "Alone."
"Is that so?" He asked. "Sounds like he's going to ask her out or something."
"I wouldn't really be surprised." You said. "They've been acting like a couple around each other."
"You mean kinda like us?"
"Just like us."
"I miss us."
"There was never officially an us, since we never dated."
"We dated in high school."
"I don't even remember high school so that doesn't even count."
"It still counts for me since I actually remember."
"Whatever. Hey, random question time. How much do you miss me?"
"I miss you more than I've ever missed anything in my entire life."
"Dang it. I was expecting some romantic monologue goodness."
"Well, I'm no good at that."
"Neither am I. Don't worry."
Just then, you heard the door open. You looked over to see (R/N) and Jet together.
"Well, I've gotta go now."
"Party all night long. Oh, and stay beautiful."
"Will do." You said before hanging up and pocketing your phone. You went over to the both Jet and (R/N) and said to them, "So, am I looking at a new couple?"
Jet took (R/N)'s hand in his, smiled, and replied, "You bet. Though we're kinda winging right now so we'll see how this turns out."
"Hopefully everything goes good." You said. "I wish nothing but happiness for you two."
"(Y/N), that's so sweet." (R/N) said. "You know, you're gonna make some guy very happy today."
"I already have made a guy happy." You thought. "His eyes gleam whenever he sees me, he gives me a special smile, and he loves me like I'm something that can't be replaced."
"Well, what are we waiting for?" Jet asked, dragging me out of my thoughts. "Let's get partying!"
"Agreed." You said. "Now, show us where this party is Jet."
