Chapter Forty-Nine: Suspects
"That was so weird." You said as you headed up to your dorm. "He was actin really weird. I'm telling (R/N) to keep his eyes on him tomorrow."
Once you entered the dorm, you were blasted with extremely loud music.
"Turn it down!" You yelled. "We're gonna get in trouble."
She did so, leaving it at a reasonable volume.
"What's up?" She asked. "You look like something kinda weird just happened."
"That's because it did." You said. "But it was super weird."
"Oh." She said, sitting down on her bed. You sat on your bed as well. "Do tell."
"Okay." You said. "So I just got back from a date or whatever you want to call it. It technically wasn't even a date. Anywho, the cops asked me questions but that wasn't the weird part about it. When they were done questioning me, I saw Professor Anderson. And you know what he was doing? He was sitting at the fountain."
"How is that weird?" (R/N) asked. "People sit there all the time."
"You didn't let me finish." You said. "Anyway, he was sitting there. And he was looking around as if he didn't want to be seen."
"Strange." (R/N) said. "I'm guessing that you went out to talk to him?"
"Yep." You said. "And it only got stranger from there."
"I'm intrigued." (R/N) said.
"I talked to him and he was shocked to find out that Jet was my brother." You said. "He said that we're so different."
"Um, maybe because you are different." (R/N) said. "Seriously. Even I couldn't believe that you two were related."
"Yeah." You said. "But Professor Anderson just acted really weird. It was like he was trying to hide something."
"Hm," (R/N) said. "We should keep a close eye on him. We don't have that much evidence at the moment so everyone is a suspect."
"Right." You said. "Keep a close eye on him in class tomorrow. I'll do the same."
"Sounds like a plan." She said. "Hey. I'm going to go take a walk around campus. Come with?"
"Nah." You said. "I'll stay here. Don't stay out too long because curfew's approaching."
"Yes mother." She said, rolling her eyes and opening the door. "See you."
"Bye." You said as she closed the door.
You were listening to music on your phone when suddenly you saw something slip underneath your door. Puzzled, you paused your music and took your earbuds out, leaving your phone on your bed. You walked over to the door and saw that an envelope was slipped underneath your door.
"What the hell is this?" You asked yourself as you picked up the envelope and opened it. There was a folded piece of paper inside. Once you unfolded it, in messy handwriting written in red pen was a message.
"The murder is closer than you think."
