Chapter Forty-Eight: What's Going On?

After spending pretty much your entire day with Mark, you headed home to your dorm.
"What the hell?" You said after you had said goodbye to him and promised to meet him outside early tomorrow morning to say goodbye...for a very long time. "Why are there cops here?"
You went into the building. Police were all over. They were questioning pretty much everyone.
"Oh. It's about Jet's murder." You said, finally realizing what was going on. "They're trying to get some evidence."
"You there!" One of the officers said, walking over to you. "You're (Y/N) (L/N). You were at the murder scene. Your friend (R/N) was there and told us that she called you when she first discovered the body of Jet (L/N). Do you know anything that might link us to the culprit?"
"No." You said honestly. "At first we thought it was a suicide. But then we thought otherwise because he was really happy up until his death. But I have no idea who would want to murder him."
"Okay then." He said, jotting down what you said into his notes. "Thanks for answering the questions."
"No problem." You said as he walked away.
You looked around you. People everywhere were being questioned by police. It was understandable, everyone here was a suspect in their eyes due to the lack of evidence.

You saw something strange outside though. You saw Professor Anderson, sitting alone at the fountain. He looked around, as if he was trying to not be caught.
"What's the old man doing?" You asked as you exited the building.

Once you were outside, you called to him, "Hello Professor Anderson!"
He looked at you, clearly startled.
"Hello (Y/N)." He said, adjusting his glasses. "You startled me."
"I see that." You said, taking a seat next to him. "How are you doing?"
"Quite well." He said, folding his hands together. "How about yourself?"
"Upset." You admitted.
"Is it because of Jet?" He asked.
"Yes." You said. "He was my brother."
"Is that so?" He asked. "I never would have guessed. You two are very different."
"We are." You said.
"Very surprising indeed." He said, standing up. "Well, I must go. I'll see you in the morning tomorrow in class."
"See ya!" You said, waving goodbye to him.

As soon as he was out of sight, you thought to yourself,
"Why was he trying to hide? Does he know something about the murder that we don't?"
You would have to keep a close eye on him, you realized.
