CHAPTER 16 - UNTIL NEXT TIME

Life and death sometimes are and sometimes aren't inevitable but there is one thing people can do for giving a life and for saving one and that is try.
To try is all humans can do , for life , for death , for every breath.

Nyonika made her way out of the room with Raj not before softly hugging her from one side feeling overwhelmed while Manik stayed back to check up on her.

Nyonika - she is a gifted miracle to this world.

Raj - I know right , this and everything that touches her feels so personal to me so I can honestly understand what Manik went through . At first I thought it's because she belongs to our country but then I guess it's because she is just so HERSELF and a fighter.

He smiled recalling her first words "I am alive" and started telling Nyonika about everything that had happened till now ignoring the confidential parts and Nyonika happily listened to everything he had to say coz somehow that girl had become a part of her husband's and her son's life so it was time to make her a part of her life too but who was she kidding , she already was .

Nandini was smiling , talking to Nyonika had made her feel warm and good , she felt nice after a long time , she couldn't wait to get better physically now.

Manik smiled seeing her smiling so wide but then his smiled turned into shock when he noticed the blood in her throat pipe.

Manik - Nandini I'll have to sedate you know , okay?

Nandini pouted while saying " but why ? I am feeling good today ,I don't want to sleep for hours and then wake up forgetting this good feeling that I have now"
Manik sighed and gave her a sympathetic smile , almost guilty of what he was going to do. Nandani got it , She had used that look for a lot of patients herself ,she knew something was wrong , she knew it now.

She nodded silently and he rang the bell for nurses and doctors to come along with all medicines and equipments.

She took a deep breath while saying " Will I wake up again" . Manik paused , everything around him did too, of course she will wake up , she will right ? This part right here was the only reason he hated being a doctor , just for this moment he hated it . Looking at her eyes so hopeful yet so sad which was glowing a few moments back , he felt the pain inside him and not being able to mutter anything he nodded softly and then as if to assure himself more than to her ,he held her hand in his and squeezed it a little .

On the other hand Raj got the buzzer and seeing the room number he immediately came back to his professional mode , from the front you'd see nothing but a very strong headed doctor but inside he was scared , just a few mins back she was all fine what could have happened . He stopped and so did Nyonika who raised her eyebrows asking what?

Raj - it's Nandini ,I'll have to go ,sorry .

He said and without waiting for a reply rushed towards her room .

He entered the room and saw Manik and Cabir talking in the corner of the room in hushed whispers. Nandini looked fine and was looking out if window he sighed in relief but that was short lived as the blood in her throat pipe because prominent.

Manik came forward and whispered something in his ears to which he nodded .

Manik then moved forward took the injection and then looked at her who wasn't looking at anyone in particular.

Manik - you'll be fine ,you'll wake up again ,very very soon Nandini.

Nandini snapped her head at him, Her heartbeat rising . She was hesitant and afraid but somehow now she wasn't . She blinked and he injected her with sedatives.

Manik - count till ten

Nandini -
Chilly chiken ..
Crispy corn
Biryani
Malai kabab
Aloo tikki
Golgappe
Chole bhat-ure
Momo
Samo-

And she passed out while everyone is the room looked so amused. This girl was insane and loved food. Not even realising why but Manik made a mental note of all the items she mentioned. He will make her eat those , one day. He promised himself.

Raj,Cabir and Mukti both went out of the room discussing the second operation since Manik wasn't needed so he stayed back till the time they take her to the operation theatre. They knew they had to do this once but this soon? Nope.

Inside the room it was unusual calm ,the calm that scares you ,the clam that makes you think things which you never want. Manik sat down beside her and wrapped his arms around her shoulder very lightly almost but not even touching her and kept his head on the rod of the bed just above her head. He wanted her to know she isn't alone , to let her feel that he is there but this one move wasn't more for her than for him . He assured himself that she'll be fine.

Nandini was taken to the operation theatre, time to rise. Again .
