Raj Malhotra - And  we continue to wait.

It's been 3 days, 3 days since they operated on her, 3 days since she was still the same, almost dead. 3 days since Manik sat on the chair beside her, helpless. 3 days, 72 hours ,4320 mins and 259200 secs and counting.
They all had gathered in her room again, just like last 3 days, 3 times in one day. And Dr Raj Malhotra again said that all they need to do was wait.

Everyone started to walk out of the room one by one but this time he stayed, bent down and whispered in her ears

Raj Malhotra - Our work is done here baby girl, your work starts now, it's all on you and I know you can do this. Remember, it's all on you.Life has a weird way to make you realise its worth, weird but needed. Sometimes you feel everything is pointless, you are drowning and you fight and fight to come above the water surface but then you give up thinking what's the point? Everything hurts, every breath hurts, my eyes are glued and no matter how much I try I can't open it. The sound of machines and the doors opening and closing, doctors checking vitals and children crying somewhere outside, I can hear it all and it hurts. Every sound hurts.

"MANIK, NYO aunty HAS SPECIALLY SENT THIS FOR YOU, YOU HAVEN'T EATEN NICELY SINCE 3 DAYS, PLEASE EAT OR ELSE I'LL KICK YOU OUT OF THE HOSPITAL, LET'S GO, WE WILL EAT IN NANDANI'S ROOM"

I  could hear their voices, Dr Cabir and Dr Manik, they were coming inside.

"CABIR YAAR, I AM FINE. OKAY I'LL EAT HAPPY."

I wanted to wake up now more than ever now and I could feel my eyeballs moving, it's a sign right.
Forgot sake Nandini, you are a doctor yourself, you know how this work and you also know that it's all on you know. They did their work, now is the time. You can do it. Find motivation to wake up. Yes. Think happy things.

Think about Navya, who will be able to handle her if not you?
Think about her parents, they love you like their own.

it was Dr Manik, I knew his voice. It was him, I was sure. But how do I convey to him that I am dying to wake up?  The irony of the statement wow.

Nandini, your dream, to work with him. He is here, wake up please, for him? I can wake up right? For my dream.

Manik's pov

I was making my way towards the sofa of the room 201, yes, her room. I have lost the count of visits I have done from everywhere to here everytime hoping for her to wake up.

Cabir - Manik, come fast. This looks so tasty. Neyo aunty is the best cook in the whole wide world I swear.

I chuckled and made sat beside him.

I inhaled the smell of the heavenly food in front of me, surely mom indeed is the best cook.

I was halfway through my eating when I heard the continuous beeping of the machines. My heart started racing.

I ran my way towards her to check what's wrong. Please be okay.

Her heartbeat was rising
"Cabir ring the bell, someone bring the crash cart in here"

Cabir rushed, everyone immediately came inside with all the required things,

Dr Raj - Manik what's  wrong?

Abhimanyu - Manik, move aside ,let us check.

Mukti - Manik, why aren't you staying anything.

Dr Raj - DR MANIK MALHOTRA

As if I was turned dead seeing the seen getting unfolded in front of me. Like this was the strangest and the most magical thing I have ever seen.

"She is waking up" I muttered slowly ,almost inaudible to myself too.

What they all said in unison.

I turned around, with a tiny smile and shining eyes

"SHE IS WAKING UP"

Turning again towards her, not wanting to miss even a second of this miracle, I waited. Her eyeballs kept moving, and her fingers were trying hard to move. She was trying. She was getting up , SHE WAS TRYING . SHE WAS WAKING.

AND I WAS WITNESSING THE MIRACLE RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY EYES.
