Chapter 36:

"So, how did you two meet?" I asked Daisy while we waited in line at the concession stand. The boys were across the farm talking to a few of the guys from work and we offered to go grab some yummy goodness to fill all our bellies. It was my chance to get a little bit more information about her and to find out how deep she was in with Ron.

"M-m-my s-sister introduced us." She explained quickly. Daisy wasn't a girl who liked to hear herself talk. She was down to earth and refreshingly pleasant. I really enjoyed hanging out with her so far.

"That's cool. Ron is a really good guy and I think he really likes you." I pointed over towards him. He was staring across the little open field at her. Even from this far away, I could see the look. She blushed when she saw him. He smiled and waved back at her a little too eagerly. They were made for each other. I could already hear the wedding bells ringing.

"I l-l-like him t-too." She grinned and sheepishly waved back.

Daisy and I grabbed a couple of hot dogs in foil wrappers. The boys had decided they wanted real food that resembled a meal. Daisy ended up getting herself one too. I was going to join in but changed my mind at the last second when I set my sights on a box of homemade peanut butter fudge. I wasn't in the mood for a weinerfest anyway.

Homemade treats were so much better than processed meat.

My mouth began salivating the second the teenage boy waiting on us placed the box of nutty goodness into my hands. Right as we were paying, I saw some spider web cotton candy. Like the fudge, it was handmade at the farm too. They dyed it purple and had stuck a few of those little plastic spider rings to it.

I wanted it too.

I convinced Daisy we should get some and not share it with the boys. She smiled as we opened the bag and dug in secretly before heading back over. I pulled out a few of the black plastic spider rings and we shoved them on our fingers like little kids. I was having a fantastic time with her tonight. This double date thing was actually somewhat fun.

We had devoured half of the bag of cotton candy by the time we decided to start walking back to the boys. I was developing such a terrible sweet tooth. I was sabotaging the diet I hadn't even started yet. I had no willpower. I decided calories didn't count if someone shared them with me.

I convinced myself that I was doing all of this for Daisy. I wanted her to have a good time tonight and if I had to eat to do it, then I would keep eating until I exploded. I was glad I went with the stretchy pants instead of the jeans.

Daisy and I were both cracking up hysterically from our sugar high by the time we crossed the field and saddled up to our dates. We were discussing ditching Ron and Cam to go hang out by ourselves. They had spent all night doing that annoying boy thing where their IQs dropped just by being in the same space. It was like watching two toddlers clubbing each other with miniature plastic baseball bats.

The wind kicked up and I shivered. It was starting to get cold; I could feel the frost in the air. Cam was lucky I needed him for something or Daisy and I would have made our getaway already. He was a natural heating stove and always warm.

I snuggled up with my arms inside Cam's jacket to steal a bit of his body heat. I nuzzled my cold nose into his chest and caught a whiff of his light cologne. He smelled good enough to eat. I just wanted to nibble on him a bit. He wouldn't mind being on the receiving end of a few little love bites.

I was too wrapped up in my mushy bliss to recognize trouble headed our way. But when had Cam and I ever been safe? Our whole up and down relationship had been a shit storm of bad omens and ill-fated events.

Tonight was not going to be any different. I don't know why I ever thought leaving the house was going to be a good idea.

"Nice to see you again, Cameron." I heard a rancid voice and my head snapped up.

I thought I smelled something fishy.

Kelly was standing in the middle of the group in a tacky khaki green, too tight, low-cut shirt. She was swinging her big boobs around for everyone to see. She was going to knock somebody out with those things if she wasn't careful. They needed one of those oversized load warning labels that were on trucks to let other drivers know not to go near them.

Beep. Beep. Stay in your lane bitch. I was here first.

"Kelly." Cam acknowledged her through clenched teeth. I felt his arm tighten around me. He was either holding onto me so I wouldn't go after her or he was nervous about something. Maybe it was just my insecure paranoia, but either way, his reaction to her presence wasn't sitting well with me.

Kelly licked her lips with desire as she stared at him. Her eyes trailed down his body and stopped just below his belt line. Her brazenness only meant one thing, she was plotting something. She turned her attention to Ron and Daisy and didn't even acknowledge my presence.

"Hey Ron, you better be treating my sister well." She flirtatiously poked his chest and grabbed his jacket to pull him closer. Daisy looked at the ground and stepped back a little, letting Kelly's skanky ass touch all over her date. Kelly pushed herself up against him, trying to get the attention she so desperately craved.

Sister? Did I hear her right? Daisy was Kelly's sister? Why didn't anyone even think to tell me?

I looked up at Cameron, who gave me a silent 'oops' look. We were going to talk about this when we got home tonight. He would not be going anywhere near my vagina again until he explained.

I wasn't the only one keeping secrets.

It didn't take me but a few seconds to realize that Kelly must have been a bully to this beautiful young girl growing up. Daisy clammed up and looked scared around her. She wasn't the same girl I was laughing with minutes ago. It had to be Kelly's jealousy of Daisy that made her that way towards her sister.

Daisy was far more kind and even had the classic beauty look that her sister lacked. Kelly was a pretty girl, but she would have been way more attractive if she didn't come off as desperate. It was probably just me being petty, but Daisy had the whole package while Kelly was just a set of bouncing boobs with a nasty attitude.

"Of course, I'm treating her well. Right, Daisy?" Ron said, stepping away from Kelly to pull Daisy in close to him.

"Go Ron! Show that bitch!" Good Jessa was celebrating and pumping her fists in the air.

Kelly sluffed it off like it was nothing and then turned her attention to the real reason why she came over to our group.

Cameron.

"Hey, Cam," Kelly's nasally voice turned seductive. She stuck her chest out further just to make sure he could see them. I wanted to scream at her to tell her we were all well aware that she had breasts. There was no hiding those things. She was going to smother us all if she didn't back away.

Cameron started shifting uncomfortably next to me. I turned my head up to watch his face to try to read him. It was blank. There was nothing there giving anything away.

Why was he acting like this? Was he hiding something from me?

"Don't forget that you said you would stop by my house tonight. I'll be waiting up for you." She touched his arm and began stroking it.

My blood was boiling. I raised an eyebrow and pursed my lips, waiting for Cam's reaction to what she just said. I wanted to hear what his response was going to be. He paused too long to look back and forth between us and swallowed.

"Yeah, I'll be over after we're done here," Cameron told her.
