~Lawrence's POV~

I sobbed into the phone. "I'm so sorry Dominik. So sorry-"

"Lawrence?! What happened?!"

"I'm sorry! Forgive me, please!" I wailed. I felt horrible. Poor Julian.

"Lawrence! Just tell me what happened!" I heard a car door slam and a car engine start.

"Julian's hurt! I can't tell if he's breathing or not! I can't get to him! It's guarding him!" I looked at Julians bloody figure on the basement floor. Two black, deadly wolves laid around him. They kept pawing at him, I couldn't understand why.

"What's guarding him?!"

"I don't know! I-it's not even of this earth! I made Julian stay down here so he could make anther one! But-but it broke out of its cage and all I heard- Julian screaming and-" I cried so hard, I couldn't talk anymore.

"I put a GPS tracker in the phone I gave Julian. I'm going to be there in about 5 minutes, just keep an eye Julian and call me back if anything changes." The line went dead. I put the phone down on the step I was sitting on. I watched Julian as I continued to cry.

"Oh Julian... I'm so sorry."

After a couple minutes I heard the basement door get thrown open, I looked up at Dominik and River.

"Where is he?!" Dominik made his way to me, but halfway, he saw the problem himself. Julian was laying in a pool of his own blood, he was beyond pale, he was as white as paper, if you looked under the layers of blood. His shirt was in shreds.

"Oh my god..." River gasped.

I wailed. "They won't let me get to him! I tried to save him but I think he's dead!" I covered my face.

The wolf-like creatures growled when they saw Dominik approach. River right behind him.

"Just stay calm Lawrence. They can sense that your scared." Dominik was just a foot away from Julian when one of the wolfs jumped up and stood over Julian. "Please. Let me help him." Dominik begged the wolf. "Please..."

It studied him before stepping back giving Dominik access to Julian. Dominik ran over to Julian and quickly pulled Julians limp figure in his arms. "Oh Julian... I'm here." That's when I heard the soft sobs of Julian.

Relief and guilt washed through me. I'm a horrible person for leaving Julian down here, but I'm so happy he's alive!

Dominik started walking back toward the door and the wolves followed him slowly. I gotta admit it was really scary. "Be careful Dominik." I bit my lip watching the wolves.

"River, take Julian..."

"Alright..." Dominik handed Julian over to River. River started to walk up the stairs while Dominik held the wolf things back.

"Lawrence... Now would be a good time for you to help..."

"Right!" I moved in front of one of the wolves. It growled at me and snapped its jaws. "Stay back..."

"Slowly walk backwards..." We took slow steps backwards. Once we had the door closed I slumped to the floor.

"You can kill me now..." I covered my face in shame. "I took River and made him sick just to get your attention. Than brought Julian here and made him stay in the basement alone. I should have known he was in danger! God I'm such a moron-"

"Just shut up Lawrence. I get it. Your the worlds greatest screwup. But right now I have to fix the mess you created. So if you don't mind, I'm going to go to Julian. If your lucky, he might forgive you." He stormed up the stairs following Julians scent. Even I could smell his blood from here.

~Lucifer's POV~

"Julian?... Are you awake?"

"Dominik... Look at this..."

"Wha-?!"

"I know right!"

"Stop..." I groaned and swatted at their hands.

"Julian!" Someone grabbed my hand.

I shook my head no.

"Quincy?"

Again. No.

"Lucifer...?"

Bingo. I nodded.

"How-?"

"Why are you so confused?" I opened my eyes to look at Dominik, River and Lawrence hovering above me.

"Cause we thought you couldn't-" Dominik started.

"Course I can you idiots... Now tell me what happened to Julians body? I can't feel anything..."

"There aren't any wounds... They're healed." River frowned and ran a hand over where a thin pink scar was on Julian's side/stomach.

"Well... Of course they should be healed. Those wolves healed Julian. He drew one of the wolves and got attacked. The one in the cage broke out and defended Julian, than they licked his wound and it healed up. He passed out from blood loss." I struggled to sit up as I spoke. "The wolf he drew was acting on impulse. It was scared and didn't know what was happening, other than that someone stunk of fear. Attack the weak and maybe you'll have a meal for a day." I rubbed Julian's head. "I can understand these creatures, they aren't evil."

Everyone shared looks.

"What?" I scowled at the trio.

"Well... If they aren't evil, why were they so..." Lawrence spoke up.

"Defense. You would do the same if you healed someone. You don't want them getting hurt again. Like say Julian got attacked and you were protecting him, you wouldn't just willing hand him over to a stranger would you? These wolves were protecting Julian from a unknown presence."

"You seem to know a lot about the wolves..." River raised an eyebrow at me.

"Sure. They do come from hell after all. They are loyal, and can be really nice to their master. And it looks like the two wolves claimed Julian as their master."

{Julian is waking up. May want to wrap it up. He's a little shaken up and will want Dominik.} Quincy interjected.

"Okay. Give me one sec Quincy." I looked at the trio and sighed. "Lawrence. Dominik. River. I gotta go, Julians waking up. But real quick. Lawrence?"

"Yeah?"

"Come here for a second." I beckoned him with my finger. He moved right next to me on the bed. "Little closer." He did as asked and was right in front of me. In the blink of an eye I raised my hand and smacked him across the face. He screamed and backed away from me. "That's for locking Julian in a basement. He can't being in basements long. Maybe for a few minutes with someone he trusts, but not alone. He hates you for sure now." I closed my eyes as I started to mumble the last sentence. I slowly drifted into the darkness of Julians mind.

~Julian's POV~

My eyes shot open and I started crying my eyes out. A pair of arms quickly wrapped around my small frame and I heard sweet words mumbled in my ear.

"I'm here baby. Nothing will hurt you. Stop crying, it breaks my heart to see you like this." I clutched at Dominik's shirt.

"I was so scared." I sobbed into his shoulder.

"I know Julian baby. But I'm here. You don't have to be so scared. I'll always protect you." Dominik stroked my head.

"Dominik. We should really get him back home. He's probably scared out of his mind, being back in a familiar environment may calm him down." I peeked over at River. He was looking at me and Dominik calmly.

Out of the corner of my eyes I saw Lawrence. My face paled and I buried my face back into Dominik's neck. "Take me home... Please..."

"Of course..." Dominik stood up and I wrapped my legs around Dominik's waist so he could carry me easier. I refused to take my head from Dominik's shoulder. "River. Gather Julians things. We're getting away from here. And Lawrence. I never want to see with Julian ever again, your ways are stupid. Kidnap? And than a trade? Julian for River? Asking would have been easier! Than locking him in a basement. That's crossing the line. I never want to see your face again." I stormed out if the room and down to the front door.

{Your safe now Julian, you can stop crying}

[He can cry all he wants Quincy, give the kid some time to let it all go. He keeps everything bottled up, let him cry. He needs to.]

{well aren't you caring?}

[shut up!]

{fine asshole. But we'll continue this later.}

Quincy and Lucifer went quiet. In the momentary relief of the silence I found myself finally calming down. My shaking ceased, my crying stopped and I was gaining all my strength back.

Dominik put me in the back of the car and buckled me in. "You can relax back here. It's not a long drive though so don't get to comfortable." He smiled and kissed my forehead.

"Thanks Dominik." I gave him a weak smile than I yawned. Right before Dominik closed the door I heard low whimpers. I looked over at the two wolves. The one I drew, and the one that came from... Somewhere... They lowered their heads and continued to whimper. I looked at Dominik. "Can't we take them with us...?"

Dominik thought about it. "Are you sure?..."

"They're nice once you get over the fact that one of them attacked me..."

He sighed. "Alright..."

I smiled real big. "Thank you."

"Your welcome-" he was about to tell the wolves to get in the car, but they jumped right into the back and wagged their tails like excited puppies.

"This is so exciting. I've never had a pet before." I pet their heads.

"Just be careful Julian I don't you getting attacked again."

"I won't!" I leaned against the window and closed my eyes.

I'm back with Doninik... I'm safe now.

I slowly fell asleep as the car started moving.

~River's POV~

I peaked at Julian and saw he was asleep. "Dominik?"

"Yeah River?" He kept his eyes on the road.

"What are we going to do when we find Julians family. I'm certain they would want him back. Try to give him the normal life he missed out on. Love him with open hearts. And that would mean keeping him from danger, and if they find out he was kidnapped by vampires, they won't trust you with him. Especially me, Asa, and Avery.we wouldn't be-"

"I'm aware... But finding his family is important. As much as I'd hate to give him up, he needs to know his parents or sibling's... So have you found anything in his family? Is that why your talking about this with me?"

"Yeah..." I nodded slowly and bit my lip.

"Tell me..."

"I found his family. He has two brothers and a sister. His parents are still together and live in the area..."

I watched his hands tighten on the wheel. "Than I guess when he wakes up we'll tell him and have him pack a bag. We'll take him back where he belongs..."

~Dominik's POV~

Julian is going back home...

I look at him through the mirror. He's sound asleep. A smile spread across his cute face. I don't know what I'm going to do after he leaves. He's become a big part of my life, and I always want to protect him. But him being with his family is just as important.

"Dominik?"

"Yeah River?" My voice cracked a little. I was really upset that I had to let Julian go.

"I'm here for you if you need me... Plus, I'm sure his parents will let you visit him..."

"I hope so River..." I pulled up to my house and got out of the car. I walked over to Julian and picked him up out of the car and carried him inside. The wolves following me inside, River held Julians bags as we walked up to Julians room. I tucked him into bed, kissed his forehead and left the room.

"Dominik. Come here. I want to show you all the information I could find on Julians family. It might help you set your mind at ease once you know what good people they are..."

"I'm fine." Me and River stood in the hallway outside Julians bedroom.

"You sure...?"

"Yes." I walked into my room and closed the door.

I need my rest. I have a big day tomorrow. I just got Julian back and I'm already having to give him away again.

"Oh Julian." I sighed and sat on my bed.

Well... I know there is supposed to be a lot of action but you gotta work with me here! I'm trying to make a longish book... And so I tend to get a bit sidetracked... Just hang with me >~<
