NAOMI
I honestly did not expect morning to come this fast, but yeah, it did, anyway. The first thought that crosses my mind is "where am I?". Immediately, the night's memories and all that followed after comes rushing in.
Urgh! I need to find my way out of this ghetto ass place! My legs take me to the toilet and I pee, then clean up before fixing myself. It basically involved rinsing my face with this cold water. I totally forgot that the heater was not working yesterday. I change into what I wore yesterday and fix the bed, neatly fold the jalabiya, then step out of the room.
Joseph is no where to be found but I smell coffee brewing. I follow the aroma and realize that there's steam from the one on the counter. The cup is unattended to.
"Anybody home?" I call out in a panic. No response. The front door opens almost immediately and I grab the first thing my hand comes in contact with, for self defense.
"It's just me." Joseph chuckles and I hiss.
"Not funny."
"It is. What exactly did you intend to use a throw pillow for? To attack an intruder?" He laughs.
"Hush. I know self defense." I answer and he snickers.
"Indeed." He chuckles before adding "Sorry, went to get breakfast." He lifts up the bread loaf in his hands and I roll my eyes.
"I am definitely not eating that thing with you." He shakes his head at my comment.
"Please yourself, ma." He utters sarcastically before settling in the kitchen to prep and have breakfast.
"My keys?" I ask with raised brows, arms akimbo.
"When I am done eating." He says dismissively.
"Look, some of us have real jobs, not menial ones. I need to get home and prepare." He ignores me and continues having his breakfast.
Huffing in annoyance, I proceed to sit, having no choice but to wait for him. Realizing that I was no longer speaking, the idiot takes his sweet time eating just bread and coffee! Rubbish!
He even proceeded to wash up and clean the place where he ate. He still took out some water and drank before finally returning his attention to me.
"So what was it you were saying again?" The way this guy annoys the hell out of me.
"Just give me the keys. I won't spend an extra second engaging in a banter of words with you."
"Be polite." He insists.
"To hell with you." I retort.
"Alright. I take it you don't need your keys, then." He shrugs and starts to walk away, and that is the exact moment that annoyance consumes me. With a surge of adrenaline, I spring to my feet and hasten my steps to catch up with him, determination coursing through my veins. As I close the distance, my hand darts out to grab him by the collar, exerting enough force to make him whirl around, caught off guard by my sudden assertiveness.
"What the fuck is your problem?" His hand snakes behind me and he pulls me to him. He raises his brows as if daring me to speak again. I am never one to back down, so game on, dumbo!
"I said what the fuck is your problem?" I could see the fire in his eyes when I say it again.
"I'll be careful with my words, young lady." His voice resonates in a low, husky tone, sending a shiver down my spine as the sound wraps around me like a caress, melting my insides with its irresistible allure.
"Don't call me that."
"Then what will you prefer? Bitch?" My hands automatically make their way to slap him but he catches it as if anticipating the move. He smacks me in the butt instead.
"That is for being naughty." He smirks. I am completely stunned. I try to wiggle out of his touch but he holds me in place.
"Let go of me." I hiss.
"What? The heat too much for you to take?" He asks. I want to speak but swallow my words.
"Cat got your tongue? Huh?" He lifts me up and places me on his dining table, trapping me there with no hope of escape.
"Asshole." I hiss.
"This pretty mouth of yours. For someone that claims to know self defense, there are two things involved there. It's either you are lying or you want this as much as I do. Think about it."
"You..." He cuts me off.
"Too bad I won't give you time to think." In one swift motion, he roughly brings me closer to him, my back becomes rigid with tension, I could not help but feel a surge of annoyance as he does this, his presence overwhelming my senses. I could literally feel the heat emanating from his body as he leaned in closer, his hands reaching for my hair with an unexpected urgency.
My first instinct was to push him away, to tell him to keep his distance, but before I could utter a word, his lips crashed against mine in a tumultuous clash of wills. I gasped in surprise, my hands instinctively pushing against his chest, but he only tightened his grip, his fingers tangling in my hair as he deepened the kiss with a ferocity that took my breath away.
For a moment, I was lost in the whirlwind of sensation, the heat of his mouth against mine, the roughness of his stubble scraping against my skin. But as the initial shock wore off, a wave of indignation swept over me, fueling my resistance as I fought against the overwhelming tide of desire.
Yet, despite my best efforts to push him away, I couldn't deny the electric current that crackled between us, the undeniable chemistry that sparked to life with every touch, every caress. It was infuriating, maddening even, to feel such a powerful attraction to someone I despised.
But as his lips continued to move against mine, a strange sense of surrender washed over me, my body betraying my resolve as it responded eagerly to his touch. I could feel the tension melting away, replaced by a heady rush of need that left me trembling in his arms. A low moan escapes from my lips and he lets out a low curse, more like groan out a curse.
Trapped between his legs, I felt a strange sense of vulnerability, my defenses crumbling in the face of his pursuit. And as his hands roamed over my body, igniting a fire that threatened to consume the both of us, I couldn't help but wonder if perhaps there was more to this than met the eye. How do I despise him so much, yet enjoy every bit of this steamy session?
In the moment of heated passion, I pushed aside those thoughts and surrender to the intoxicating pull of desire, knowing that whatever lay ahead, I had not the power to resist the magnetic pull of his touch. I am in deep trouble.
As the kiss lingered, the intensity between us reached a peak, our bodies pressed together in a tangle of desire and defiance. But as reality came crashing back, the illusion of passion shattered.
Breaking the kiss abruptly, I pushed against his chest, my breath coming in ragged gasps while I struggled to regain her composure. He released me reluctantly, his hands falling away from my hair as he took a step back, his gaze dark with conflicting emotions.
For a moment, we stare at each other in silence, the air thick with unspoken words and unresolved tension.
"This should never have happened." I speak, my breath still ragged from that nerve wrecking, super intense make out session we just had.
"Yeah." He shrugs and then, with a flicker of regret in his eyes, he turns away, his footsteps echoing softly against the floor as he disappears into the bedroom.
Alone, I sink back against the dining table, my heart heavy with denial. It was a moment that made me question my every resolve. This man is not something I should be fucking around with. First of all, he is below my league. Way below my league. Secondly, I have sworn off men like him and nothing is making me go back on that.
Our paths were not meant to intertwine and whatever moment of weakness we had just shared was destined to remain nothing more than a locked up memory of what could never be.
"Shit! My key." I hiss and jump off the table, making my way to the bedroom. I could hear the faint sound of water splashing on the floor. Regardless, I knock, hoping he hears me.
"My keys, please." I say atop my voice. The sound stops. I could hear his footsteps as he approaches the door. He stops for a few seconds and continues walking.
When he opens the door, my eyes can't help but steal a glance at his body.
"Here." He hands it to ms and locks the door almost immediately.
Another messed up fact? I don't know the exact place I am at. I just put my faith on the map and input my destination before zooming off.
