chapter 21
Chapter 21
The house was wonderful to the fae, it was like stepping into an antique shop. There were no museums or artifacts within the fae dimension which the younger ones were allowed to even look at nevermind touch. Laylian had only seen one or two things in her life but that was many years ago, she wasn't ale to remember any of it.
There was very busy wallpaper on every wall within the house, the front door itself was red and there were baskets of flowers holding windchimes by the door. As you entered you were met with the paisley wallpaper. The kitchen was to the right and the living room to the left,
The kitchen looked like any kitchen witch's dream. There was bright colours and plants all around, green every spare place with just enough room to place a few dishes on the counter. The cupboards were full but there wasn't an open door. Scattered around were cute little ornaments such as a tiny lucky cat or a small fairy holding a bouquet of flowers. The kitchen was bright and friendly. It was comforting.
The living room looked extremely old fashioned with the printed wallpaper and the fireplace. The fireplace was on the far wall and it held many ornaments too, there were a few dogs, an apple, a pair and a duck to name a few. There was a window on the same wall as the doorway as well as the one to the left. There was an old wooden hatch which allowed the person in the living room to converse with those in the kitchen. The settees were also patterned and old-fashioned. The only thing which looked modern in the room was the television, which stood in front of one of the windows besides the fireplace. It was rather grand and looked incredibly out of place.
As you went up the stairs you would come to an insignificant closed door, it was the bathroom. That was nothing out of the ordinary for British homes. Continuing up the stairs you would be facing the bathroom. There was a small cat doorstop which kept the bathroom door open. The fae could see an ottoman, sink and a trolly-like object which held many, many products. They could see a mirror above the sink and some children's cups which were used to hold the toothbrushes. The bath was out of sight but that was a rather insignificant detail to the fae and visitors.
They were then left with two rooms, two closed doors. They didn't know which one they were supposed to enter as Devin and Eden had immediately ran back up the stairs once they gestured for the fae to come up. It seemed that the rooms were rather good at cancelling noise, as there were no audible hints as to where the cousins were. With a look into the right room they saw no sign of Eden and Devin.
What they did see was a bunkbed, it looked like it was made for children and it looked extremely uncomfortable. Yet it was clear it was Devin and Eden's place of residence at the moment as their clothes and possessions were on the floor. The curtains held small sunflowers on them and the wallpaper held tiny ladybirds. It was a bright and wonderful room for children, it was a little bit outdated considering the age of those who stayed there. The visitors were curious yet they had more pressing issues to worry about than the white cabinets in the overly-whtie room. They then retrieved their heads from the doorway and turned to the room on the left.
It was clearly Dawn's room. The group hadn't known if they'd found something in their own room or Dawn's room but after a look at the door it was rather obvious. THere wasn't a lot of room on the stairs but if they'd all made it to the landing in unison Landso would've immediately gone for Dawn's room. The door was covered in decorations. Some looked like they were made by toddlers who were just learning how to use safety scissors whilst others were intricate painted glass attached to the door by some string or ribbon.
"What'd you-wow" Kelso asked as she poked her head into the room. Her jaw dropped open as she pushed the door open. The room had the same wallpaper as the cousin's room. THere were little ladybirds dotting the walls on a plain white background, though the wallpaper was barely visible. Instead the walls held paintings and dream catchers. The furniture all looked like they could be antiques, they looked like they were well taken-care of but had seen better days. "What's that?"
The two cousins were sitting around a rather big box. It looked like a simple gift box, cream in colour with pink roses as decoration. What caught the eye of Kelso and the cousins was the contents of the box that the cousins now held.
Kelso entered the room and allowed the others to enter behind, There wasn't much room in there, Sylvester had his back practically against the door. They had all managed to stand where everyone could see. Vansilla walked over eagerly, intrigued to not only see the content of the box but also to look around the room a little bit more.
"We've not a clue." Devin said happily. It was the happiest any of them had heard someone say that. Addamak had sat himself on the seat in front of the vanity and held out his hand, once something was placed in it he looked at it in such an intrigued and analytical way.
"Fascinating." He breathed as he continued to study the object. "Are all the objects of a similar fashion?" He asked the cousins. He was careful with his words and phrasing. He did not want to make them assume something which wasn't true. He needed confirmation.
"Looks like it." Acheron said as he picked up two objects ver carefully. He had no clue what they could be used for or if they could be potential dangers or not. "What do you think they are? Are they dangerous?" He was cautious, he wouldn't let his brother pick anything up. Landso was not a fan of this fact and huffed, only watching on.
"Oh no i don't think they're dangerous." Addamak chuckled. "Though I do know they're not of human technology. They were made rather recently and it was a fae who had made them." He had recognised the design, it was futuristic and intricate. It was a fashion that the fae developed once they had created their homes in the fae dimension. "Did your grandmother know a fae?"
The two cousins nodded. "Yes she mentioned them a few times." Tyrell and Kelso nodded along with the information, looking to their partners to see if they remembered as well. "Though...they would be gone by now wouldn't they?" Devin was confused. She didn't quite understand the fae's lifespan or their powers. "You said they were made recently"
"My dear, fae have many tricks up their sleeves."
