Somewhat alive
A/N: So as you know, I'm rewriting this story. This chapter is going to be COMPLETELY different from the first one. So, have fun with that.

Beep. Beep. Beep.
The dizzy boy woke up in what it seemed to be like a hospital room. He had an IV in his arm, which he quickly pulled out. His arms were covered in bandages and he felt one on his stomach. He also felt some on his face. The boy had a bandage wrapped around his neck too. Luckily, he didn't suffer from anything fatal. "So you're awake..." A familiar voice made Morishige gasp. Anyone but her! He groaned, slowly rising his body up. He grabbed his glasses off a table next to the hospital bed and looked around the room for the source of the voice. There was a window in the room letting some dusk light in. Next to the window was a few chairs, one of them being occupied by a woman. She was tall, with her longish blue hair tied in a loose side ponytail. She was wearing a long shirt with jeans. She pushed up her glasses and looked at the boy, straight into his eyes. Something she hasn't done in years. Morishige shivered, "Mother..." He muttered. She got up and crossed her arms. "Really, Sakutaro?! Have you lost your mind?! Choking yourself in the middle of a goddamn busy road!?" She groaned, tapping her foot against the hard ground. She rarely gets this frustrated. "Well luckily your father had an extra room open in the hospital.." The teenage boy didn't say anything back. His mother placed a hand on her forehead. "Well you're going to have to say something to this: I'm sending you to a mental institution. You're leaving in thirty minutes. You can't be ruining the family name."
Morishige gasped. "W-Why?!" She walked back to the chair and sat down in it. "These past few days you haven't been acting sane at all!"
"Oh! Since when did you care about how I act?!" He yelled, crossing his arms. If I'm not in so much pain, I'd be out of this room by now.. He thought to himself. Morishige's mother picked up her purse from the chair next to her and pulled out a cellphone. She placed it on her lap. It was Morishige's cellphone. "Well, who skips school, then decides to have a mental fit in the middle of a crosswalk? Then who gets hit by a car?" She turned on the cellphone and opened it. Though, Morishige didn't realize that it was his phone that she opened.
"I-I saw a ghost, okay?! It made me act like that! I'm still sane!" His mother clicked a few buttons on the phone, getting up a moment later. She walked towards him and sat on the bed next to him causing the whole bed to shake. He groaned in pain as a response. She showed him the phone. His eyes widened. N-No.. What she showed him was a picture of a corpse that Morishige had taken during his time in Heavenly Host. "Can you explain why you have over a hundred pictures of human corpses saved to your camera? And they look like you took them yourself. So, how and why did you do this?" She clicked the button some more until it hit to Mayu's innards. "This one came up the most.. It's almost like art.." She smirked, slightly giggling. Shige growled and snatched the phone away from her. "Why the hell would you go through my phone?!" He yelled, instantly getting a smack on the cheek where one of the bandaids were. He yelped, holding his pained cheek. "Don't talk to your mother that way!" She pointed at her son. "I wanted to make sure you weren't keeping any suspicious photos in your phone. Though this is much worse than I imagined!"
The door opened, a man walking in. He wore a doctor's coat. Just like Morishige and his mother, the man also had blueish hair and glasses. His mom got up and sat back down in her seat. Oh great.. Shige rolled his eyes, his hand still holding his sore cheek. "Oh? Seems like the patient is up." The doctor, Morishige's father walked closer to him. "Move your hand." He said coldly. Morishige slightly nodded, obeying his father's orders. He walked next to the teenage boy and gave him a hard slap on the cheek, where his mother had smacked him earlier. "O-Ow.." Shige whimpered, a few tears going down his hot cheeks. His father sighed, "I also wanted to let you know that your friend is up. She won't live much longer." The doctor walked away to the door, before giving his son one last look. "And don't except any visits from me when you're in the crazy house..."
Morishige nodded again, before getting up.
"Be back within ten minutes." His mother said without looking up at him. The boy sighed, walking out of the room slowly. "Fine." In the hallway, he found a nurse and asked her where Mayu was located. "It's three doors to your left." She smiled brightly at him. He quickly walked to Mayu's hospital room. Her room looked identical to his, but the window's blinds were closed which let no let in. There was a man sitting in a chair next to Mayu. Her father.. He thought. Morishige got along with Mayu's family. He was polite to them whenever he was over and they were polite back. Though, he didn't seem to pleased with Morishige. He got up and walked past the boy. "This is all your fault." Morishige gulped and sat in the chair. She had an IV in her and other contraptions hooked up to her. There was a heart monitor next to her, giving off light beeping noises. She was covered in many more bandages than he was. The only skin he saw of her was some of her face and her petite bands. Mayu was half awake, her eyes battling to stay awake. "Shige-Nii?" She quietly asked. Morishige held her hand and kissed it. "I'm right here." She made a light frown. "Your left cheek is all red.." The boy covered it. "I-It's nothing.."
She slightly nodded, believing him. "Next time you bring me back... Please tell me everything, okay?" Morishige gasped soon nodding. "O-Okay.."
She closed her eyes, tearing up. "I.. Love you.."
"N-No.. Don't close your eyes yet!" He was too late though.
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.
