Memories

"You love me, Shige-Nii?" The girl replied, feeling a small shiver travel down her back. I can't believe he said that.. She thought. The boy instantly regretted saying his feelings. "Y-Yeah. I do.." The boy expected her to judge him for his feelings towards her. He took a big risk in their friendship, easily destroying it. Mayu gave him a kiss on the cheek. "I love you too~Actually I was planning to confess soon too. Funny, Huh?" She giggled in her usual cheerful way. Morishige sighed in relief. "Shall we skip school together~?" He kissed her on the lips, causing the small girl to blush.
"Oooh~Such a bad boy~!" They both paused, then laughed. "Haha, okay! I'm going to change." She got up and pushed the boy out of the door, trying to keep a straight face. Though she was failing miserably. "No peeking~!" The girl closed the door on him and she took off her clothes and changed. He was glad that she believed him. Honestly, I thought she wouldn't believe me. He thought as he smiled. A few minutes later, Mayu walked out wearing a pink shirt with a white skirt. She looked adorable. They both walked outside. That morning was a bit windy, but overall it was a perfect temperature. They walked to a nearby park and sat on a bench together. They wanted to get as far away from Kisaragi Academy as they can. "Do you remember when we first met? We were in this park!" Mayu smiled.

"Waaaaah-!" The six year old Mayu cried. She wiped away some tears. The girl had been working on a sand castle for quite a while and it collapsed. Mayu's mother ran next to her and dabbed away her tears with a tissue. "Shh... It's alright." She then hugged her, hoping to comfort her daughter. Sadly it wasn't working. "B-But I worked so hard on it!!" The girl cried.
"I can help you rebuilt it, if you want." Mayu looked up and saw an unknown boy about her age. He had blue hair and wore glasses. He was making a small smile. 'He looks kind of lonely..' Mayu thought. "My name is Mayu Suzumoto! What's your name!" She returned to her cheery, six year old self. She held out her hand to him. He took her hand and shook it. "My name is Sakutaro Morishige." He said.
The girl giggled and they sat in the sand. They both built a gigantic sand castle, which included a moat. Mayu pulled out some Barbie dolls. "They can live in there!" She giggled. Mayu's mother stopped her. "It's getting late, Mayu." Mayu pouted. "Aww... Can we please play a little longer, mommy??" Her mother shook her head. "I have to make dinner soon... But you can play with your friend tomorrow, okay?"
Mayu and Morishige both got up. Before Mayu left, she pointed to Morishige's glasses. "Um.. What are these?" She took them off his face and put them on her. She wobbled around before taking them off again. She rubbed her eyes. "O-Ow..."
"Okay dear, give them back now." She made a big nod before giving them back to Shige. "You're going to be here tomorrow, right?" She tilted her head at Morishige. The small boy nodded. "Mhm." They both said their goodbyes. That evening Morishige walked home alone. "I hope our sandcastle lasts." He smiled, making sure to come back to the park the next day.

Present-

"-And from that day on, we basically hung out everyday." Mayu giggled at the happy memory. "Remember when your goldfish died?" Morishige brought up, smirking. "Don't start that one! It's embarrassing.." She blushed.
"It's normal to cry. You were young."
"Fine! Then I'll bring up your lizard that you killed!"

Morishige's eighth birthday-

"Happy 8th birthday, Shige-Nii~!" She sat next to the birthday boy. Morishige's father walked in the room, carrying a large wrapped box. "Before we start the cake, here's a gift from your parents." The boy tilted his head. "Oh?" The only thing he wanted was a book. 'This is too large to be a book.. Didn't they not listen to me?' He sighed as he opened the box. It revealed a lizard inside a cage. "Cool!" Mayu looked over, clearly fascinated.
"I don't like reptiles." He shot the lizard hateful glares. "But thanks I guess..." He sighed, pushing the caged creature away from him.

Present-

"I forgot how it even died.. I probably did starve it. Oh well." He shrugged, laughing. "Shige-Nii~!" The girl giggled, leaning her head on the boy's shoulder. She yawned. "What on earth are we going to do all day...?" He boy pet her hair, causing her to close her eyes. "Have a nap.. I'll be here when you wake up." He gave her a warm smile. Within minutes, she fell asleep. Morishige checked his phone.

11:00AM

So much time until the festival... What are we going to do? He sighed, not releasing he just clicked the photos. Somehow the corpse photos he had taken were still there. "Oh?" He looked through them again, making a small smile. "I-I can't help it..." He muttered to himself, grinning. "I need to see these! Or.. I'll lose my mind!" He gasped, looking at the sleeping girl on his shoulder. "N-No... I have to stop this. For her.. I'll just get help and recover! Ahahaha..but that school was so fascinating!" He started to laugh, but released people around him were looking at him weirdly. "R-Right.. We're not going back there. I'll get better. It will all be good. I'll delete the photos soon." He told himself many times and eventually the grin disappeared from his face. Morishige silently looked at all the photos he had taken, until he came upon Mayu's insides. They looked almost unreal. The whole experience simply felt like a bad dream. He didn't have any reaction at her insides. Though, he tried not to smile at the sight. He sighed, putting his phone away. He moved his hand around the sleeping girl's waist. There was some crunching noises coming towards them. Oh, what now? He thought to himself, not moving.

"Morishige and Mayu? The people who never ditch or skip school? Wait until everyone finds out~" A familiar voice and a snicker was heard behind him.

Of course it had to be class rep..
