Chapter 55:

Pretty typical of my Bipolar disorder, the minute I came down from my Cameron Nash high, I lost time. I closed my eyes one second and we were pulling into my parent's subdivision the next.

My Dad and Cameron were swearing at each other angrily and Cameron had me pinned down in the backseat again. I don't even know what I tried to do this time. The arguing back and forth was too loud. My head was pounding from the overwhelming noise.

"Will you both just shut up? You're both wrong." Uncle Aiden's face was purple as he pulled into the driveway.

My Mom ran out of the house before he could even throw the SUV into park. Jax was right on her heels. Little dude looked like he was relieved to see me. I felt extremely excited to see him again too. I loved that stinking little punk and his weirdness.

"Riley, don't. Stop." My Dad tried to yell when she ran straight for my door. She ignored him when she saw me. She had tunnel vision. I could see her desire to get to me plastered all over her face. She was a little ball of emotions when she got to the car.

Mom pulled it open before anyone in the car could stop her. I broke free from Cameron and pushed past her to get out. She hit the ground on her butt and slid across the pavement.

Jax looked down at her and then back at me with his mouth hanging open.

"Hey, Jax." I paused a second and nodded at my brother.

"Hey, Jessa." He said, pulling his brows together pondering over what just happened.

I waved at him and took off running as fast as I could down the street.

I heard footsteps pounding against the hard pavement behind me. I didn't even need to look back to know which one of those idiots was chasing me. It was the same person who had been chasing me my whole life. Was he ever going to learn his lesson?

On paper, Cameron had the advantage. He was taller than I was and had to run a lot to stay in shape for work. The only thing I had going for me was the sheer adrenaline rush that came from being an unbalanced nutcase.

I tried to turn on my turbo boost when I heard him gaining on me. I was in a high-speed foot chase with a police officer. It was like a bad episode of Cops, except instead of the chubby cop chasing someone he would never catch, I was being pursued by a blue Adonis.

I was walloped from behind and brought down to the ground with a thud. I rolled around and fought with him, trying to break free. He tried to grab my arms and was failing miserably.

"Jessa, seriously." Cam said, panting hard as he held me down to the ground.

"Boop." I said, pressing my index finger to his nose and pushed it like a button. I was laughing hysterically when he looked stunned. The power of a good nose booping was priceless.

I heard footsteps headed our way and I watched as everyone had finally caught up to where we were lying in the middle of the street. They were hovering over us as I was pretending to be a wiggle worm. I was trying everything I could to squirm out of Cam's grasp.

"Should we call an Exorcist?" Jax asked.

"She's not possessed." My Mom hit my brother on the back of the head.

"It would probably be easier if she was." Cam said, fighting against me as I did my best to try to escape from him. He had put one of his academy moves on me when I was distracted by Jax. I couldn't break free if I tried.

"Cheese Puff, can't you just handcuff her or something?" Jax kept going.

"I like handcuffs." I screamed. "Please, Cami, put me in handcuffs. I've been a very bad girl. Punish me."

"There will be no handcuffing anyone!" My Dad yelled.

The little old lady who lived next door walked past us and stopped with her mouth wide open, watching us. I was rolling on the ground under Cam, laughing hysterically.

"Hello, Mrs. Deters. How are you today?" My Mom smiled and gave her a neighborly wave like we were all just out taking a leisurely stroll around the block.

Mrs. Deters huffed and turned without saying a word and began walking slowly back to her house.

"That was embarrassing." Uncle Aiden said, turning red enough for the whole family.

"If you think that's bad, you should have seen her face the night she caught me bending Riley over the..."

"Ezra!" My Mom screamed, now she was red too.

I laid my head back, cracking up. This was the funniest shit I have ever heard in my life. These people were fucking nuts.

Cam was looking down at me with his puppy dog eyes. He looked like he was going to cry. I sucked in a sharp breath and tried to slow my brain down a bit for him. I had put him through a lot, just from what I could remember. I didn't even want to know what happened during the missing parts of the drive home.

"Cami." I whispered up to him.

"Please go in the house." He begged me.

I chewed on my lip, considering my options.

I could tell him I would go and then try to run again. He would go after me and probably tackle me to the ground before I could get away. It hurt the first time; I didn't really want to do that again.

I could try to knee him, but he was a cop and would see that coming. The idea of hurting Little Cam didn't sound appealing. I was hoping he and I would be seeing each other again very soon.

I could have sex with him in the middle of the street. Even I found that thought cringe-worthy because my family was standing over us. Bad Jessa was losing her shit if she was even suggesting that as an option right now.

I could just go in with him without putting up a fight. The most boring option, but it had potential.

I knew what I had to do.

"Cami and I had sex!" I screamed as loud as I could. "He has a huge..."

Cameron covered my mouth. He always was trying to gag me when I wanted to say something important. He was a very naughty boy.

"No fucking way. Are you serious?" Jax was bent over laughing hysterically.

"Don't egg her on." My Mom said, ready to smack him again.

"Jessa, you are going to get up and go in the house one of two ways. You can get up and walk on your own or I will pick your ass up off this ground and carry you over my shoulder." Cam said darkly.

He was not in a very good mood anymore.

"Help me up, Cami. I'll walk." I said, giving in to him.

Cam climbed off me and offered me his hand. I took it and wound myself into him. We all started walking down the road towards the house. I noticed everyone circling me in case I decided to run again.

I pretended to juke away from Cam like I was about to run and they all scrambled like a school of fish in a tank with a little kid tapping on the glass.

I was fucking hilarious.

Cam wasn't amused by my little game. He picked me up and threw me over his shoulder when he had enough of me. I didn't put up much of a fight since it gave me a great angle to watch his perfect ass. I wish I had a quarter to bounce off that thing. I was drooling by the time we walked through the front door.

Cam threw me on the couch when we got in the living room. They were all hovering over me, staring. I wished they would stop gawking at me like that. I really wasn't that interesting.

"What happened to your face?" Jax asked, breaking the silence.

"Bulldozer. What happened to your personality?" I asked back.

"Symbiotic twin." He smiled.

"Yeah, that makes sense." I nodded my head in agreement.

"Enough." My Mom screamed. "Everyone sit down. We are going to have a family meeting."

Uncle Aiden and Cam began to leave the room.

"Where do you two think you are going?" She hissed as she stared them down.

Those two weren't going to get away that easily. They tucked their tails between their legs and came back in to sit down next to me.

"Now we are all going to sit down and have a discussion." She frowned when she turned her head to look at me.

What she really meant to say was that we were all about to have a Jessa intervention. The whole room was about to gang up on me. Ten minutes being back home and I was already wishing I had stayed gone.

I can't believe I decided to come home for this shit.
