"Shit! Where the hell are my car keys!?" I heard my housemate cursing under his breath while I still have my eyes closed, not really in the mood to wake up any now. "I'm dead. Where are Nova's?"

That's when I shot my eyes open and jumped out of the couch. Looks like I slept off while binge watching a movie, late in the night. I don't know why I even have a bedroom anymore when half the time this couch becomes my bed.

"What's with you early in the morning?" My voice sounded so much like friction between two rocks. It's been two days since Christmas and I decided to Netflix and nap through the rest of my holidays.

"I need to pick her up." He happened to finally discover my car keys hanging to the hook on the wall. "Thanks for your car, I'll be back soon." He waved a bye and sprinted out of the apartment before I could even forbid him from touching my car. I groaned in frustration as I slammed the door shut after he left. He messed up my morning.

It's been about an hour since he left and god knows where. I sat gobbling my sausages in an attempt to cheer up my Sunday morning. Not.

The lock of the front door clicked, giving a sign that he's back. I wouldn't have cared if I haven't heard another voice, female voice to be precise and strong clicking of block heels coming from the living room. I left my sausages to know why this supposedly peaceful day has turned so glamorous yet again.

I stopped in my tracks as I witnessed a walking fashion diva in our living room, flaunting her long silky chestnut highlighted locks and slender legs full on display as her shades were still on while she was checking out the house. Suddenly I felt like a potato myself, I didn't even get a clear view of her face yet I feel the strong intimidating aura radiating from her.

"You live here, Taehyung?" Wait what— she just called him in a foreign accent, I bit my lip to not cackle and catch her scrutiny but her enunciation of Tae's name was hilarious. That's when I take notice of Taehyung, struggling to drag her luggage inside.

Oh oh. She's definitely considering herself the queen and poor Taehyung is obviously her assistant at the moment.

Who is she? Waltzing in, like she owns this place.

I walked out of the Kitchen, entering the living room to announce my presence. She finally slid her shades off upon noticing me, her eyes scanned me from top to bottom with a hint of evident menace and I began to get uncomfortable under her gaze already. She's around the same height as me, probably a centimetre or two taller.

"Nova..?" My name broke out of her mouth and now I'm growing more inquisitive as to who she could be. Taehyung never told—  Wait a minute!

She must be that transfer student cousin of his whom he said would be moving to Korea. I threw a glance at Taehyung before training my eyes back at this woman in front of me. I gave her a single nod, her eyebrows rose like she found something fascinating about that.

"Not bad, you're finer than expected." She gave me an approving nod. Oh yeah? you should have seen me before shower, you would never say the same but yeah I do consider myself to be a little above average, especially my eyes work their magic on people.... umm well, that's what I think.

By the way, what does she even know about me? I guess I'm supposed to assume that Taehyung filled her in with some information about me.

"And you are..." I flashed an awkward smile, not to seem too rude right away.

"He didn't even breath my name to you?" Her eyes widened and immediately turned to glare at Taehyung.

"I-I mean, he did mention once or twice but it just slipped out of my mind, my bad." I immediately tried to cut the tension between them.

"Anyways I'm Kim Jae Hwa, but please never call me that."  Huh?  "It sounds old fashioned and isn't my type, so just Jae is fine." Her hands were in a constant motion while she explained. She's definitely from a well off household and I'mma  internally pass out at the thought of keeping up with her even for just a couple of days.

"So Taehyung, where's my room?" Her gaze fell back on him who was trying to breathe normally after pushing all that load of luggage under the roof. Does she take this to be a hotel to get provided with a separate suite upon her check-in?

He quickly stood straight and pulled a trolley bag along with him and lead her way to his room. Minutes later he walked out carrying a large cardboard box in his hands and set it down beside the couch.

"What is that?" I couldn't help but question.

"My belongings of course." He groaned while slumping down on the couch.

"You said she would stay for just a couple of days,  isn't it?"

"Yeah, but she's like a sister to me so don't you think it would be uncomfortable to share a room with her or walk in and out frequently...?" That's true though but did he seriously plan to survive on the couch until she moves to the college dormitory?

"Jungkook is out of town or else I would have crashed at his place." He shrugged.

And leave this high on life diva onto me!?

"That would make things more awkward actually," I sat beside him. "Umm... Well, you can use my room if you need anything." I offered. I looked up at him due to the lack of response and witnessed his widened eyes.

"You're not that bad, Nova." He snickered, also earning a slap on his shoulder from me. "Alright, I'll start cashing out your offer right from now, I need a shower—"

"Hey, love birds. I'm hungry, is there anything to eat?" My smile fell to a frown within a fraction of a second. The hell did she call us? I was ready to throw words at her but Taehyung clutched my hand and mouthed a 'Please' and shut my mouth with his puppy eyes.

Now, this is so frustrating!

"Yeah sure," he answered her and with that, she locked herself back in her room.

"I'm sorry, I'll help you with cooking." He nodded.  "Please put up with her for a few days."

"Has she always been this way?" I'm sure she has.

"I don't know much. We all lived under the same roof until I was 6 and I loved her like a brother would. I do remember her being humble back then but after her dad got a job offer in France, they moved there." He was trying to recollect the memories.

"They paid a couple of visits first but once we heard that they've started their own company, none of them bothered to come back and pay a visit to their parents here. They used to hardly pick up calls and also never bothered to call back home themselves. I've seen the pain that my grandmother bore about not being able to talk or meet her dear daughter and her family for years together."

Okay now, this shit is agonizing and no wonder she got that attitude loaded in her.

"I began to loathe my aunt and her husband due to that but I always had a hope that at least Jaehwa would remain a nice person but now I'm not very sure about that.... Anyways can we get started?" He pushed a forced smile on his face.

Don't do that, Taehyung.

"You just go get a shower. I'll manage." I stand to my feet and take a step towards the kitchen but halted in my tracks and turned back to him. "But if she decides to judge my food, then I really don't mind leaving her to starve." He chucked while reaching to his cardboard box and pulling his towel out.

"I don't think she would, your cooking is up to mark anyways." I felt a chunk of happiness at that immediate compliment. I dismissed him and made my way to the kitchen while he disappeared into my room.
