During the game of seirin vs rakuzan game during the winter game, kuroko loving nan died. Kuroko was excited and still had the rush from the game after they won he just left a voice mail to her about him wining and how he show her all his new skills during the Chrisman holidays. That night instead of calling his nan again later he went to kagami with the rest of his team to celebrate their win. Two days later Kuroko nan funeral happened as he played basketball with kagami and aomine at the park. The three just messing around and hanging out without a care in the world. Kuroko didnt notice the miss calls from his childhood friend Ogiwara not until he got home late that night.

Since he missed so many calls he quickly phoned his friend back in his room. In that five minute phone call he heard about it all, he heard about his nan death and about how he mist her funeral that day. Tears fell down kuroko face as he dropped the phone after his friend hang up after being called by his granny. Kuroko hated himself for picking basketball over his nan. Yes Ogiwara said it wasn't his fault if he didnt know but he loved his nan. His nan was his hero to him, when his family never notice him but she did. How she was the only person to see him no matter what and to be the only person who smiled at him when he was a child. She bought him his first basketball back in middle school and helped play with him when he came down twice a year. The one person who loved him with all their hearts was dead and he never noticed.

Kuroko grabbed his phone and wallet before running straight to the train station hoping to catch a train to his nan town but he already missed the last train and had to wait for the next morning train. He slowly walked back home not caring how soaked he was from the rain. As he opened the door he heard his mother, farther and old brother in the living room. He slammed the front door shut making them yell at him and he just walked to the living room soaked to the bone and getting water all over the floor.

"why didnt you tell me about nan, I deserved to know" kuroko asked with tears and anger and what he heard next made his heart break. "who cares if she dead, I have work to do" his mother said and went back to doing work on her laptop. "I'm busy with work right now, I dont have time to deal with non work related things" his farther hissed before going back on the phone for work. "she was just an old hag, if you truly loved her then you would have felt her die and wont need us to tell you" his brother sighed and kuroko ran to his room. He laid on his bed crying and hating the fact he was the only one to care about his nan.

As soon as the morning came kuroko packed a bag and rushed to the train station getting the first train to his nan old town. He reached her house and noticed a sold plank in the garden. "I'm sorry kuroko" Ogiwara said as he passed a box full of photos from his nan house and other things that were important to her. "I called your parents after finding her sitting there dead and they just sent money for her funeral saying they busy and by the next day they sold the house and told some movies to sell everything inside, they let me go in and take anything important for you but that all I could get" ogiwara granny said with a sadden smile, she and kuroko nan became close after finding out their grandsons knew each other and that they both lived in the same old town.

"thank you for everything" Kuroko said with a weak smile and ogiwara granny just hugged him. "I'm sorry about telling you over the phone, I thought your parents would have told you" ogiwara said feeling bad about telling kuroko over the phone when he knew how important his nan was to him. "its fine, I didnt think my parents was cold enough to not even care to tell me" kuroko said with anger and the other two just frowned. "if it helped, she was watching you game the day she died and she had this by her chair" ogiwara granny smiled and passed a gift box to kuroko. "she didnt see the ending of the game but I'm sure knew you win anyway" ogiwara said trying to cheer kuroko up. "thanks, I'm going to go visit her, can I leave these with you and come get them after" kuroko asked and ogiwara granny nodded.

Kuroko reached his nan grave stone and feel to his knees crying. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry" kuroko cried letting his tears fall without control. "I wont tell you if I won or not, I let you hear for yourself when your ready" kuroko said with a smile that was hidden by his tears and buried his nan phone with his voice mail by her grave just deep enough for the phone since he didnt want to mess the grave up. "I love you nan and I wont pick basketball over you ever again" Kuroko smiled bravely and placed his warn out basketball he been playing and prancing with on her grave before walking away.

Kuroko picked up the box of his nan stuff and the gifted she was going to give him and got on the last train home. He locked himself in his room not opening the door or even letting 2 in. His parents got sick of feeding his dog and yelled at kuroko but he still never opened the door. His mother having enough of her son break down and called aomine knowing kuroko left his phone book in the table draw just in case he lose his phone. His farther not wanting to deal with people rumours about the youngest son called kagami from his son phone book and then both parents left for business trips. His brother leaving the country for a work as soon as aomine and kagami entered the door. Aomine warned kuroko he would break down the door while kagami quickly grabbed food and some water after hearing kuroko being lock up for two days. Kuroko opened the door for them both knowing if aomine broke the door down it just make it harder to hide in his room. But what they heard after he opened the door felt like a nightmare.

"I'm quitting basketball" kuroko said in a weak voice and angry eyes.

During the Christmas holidays the team found out kuroko quit the team for real, it was the morning that teppei was leaving for America when the teacher gave the team kuroko letter. Everyone smiled and pretended not to see kuroko letter so they could send teppei of with a smile and joy. Teppei smiled and waved but deep down he wanted to help but he knew that something bad must have happened for kuroko to quit the basketball he loved so much.

Kuroko kept his word because when the school term started he was nowhere to been seen during practice. No one saw him with his team uniform or the team bag at school. He didnt even come near the club members anymore. They tried to hunt him down but he would always use his misdirection to hide from them and to be never found. Kagami didnt give up, he tried to catch kuroko during class and after class to drag him along but kuroko always escaped him. After two months even Kagami could no longer see kuroko, even when he turned round during class the desk looked empty. He couldn't tell if kuroko was there or skipping or sick anymore, he would ask the teacher but they just mark him anyway since they could never see or hear him and got fed up with him keep popping up behind them after class to be marked.

Seirin practice games didnt go well either, with losing teppei and kuroko at the same time hit their team big. They didnt just lose kuroko but kuroko and kagami team up. They lost the person who cheered them on even when it seemed impossible and lost someone to calm kagami down in a second. Some teams even cancelled their practice games since they wouldn't play the team while they failing so much. Seirin didnt lose all their games but still a good number of games was lost to teams they could beat easy before. After aomine told momoi about kuroko quitting she told the rest of the generation of miracles over the phone and they all came down to help over weekends. But it was no use, even they couldn't find kuroko or seem him anymore, it was like kuroko disappeared. If Seirin kept going like this then anyone who was gonna join their team next year or come to their school or fade.

Aomine couldn't handle playing basketball when he knew kuroko wouldn't even pick up a basketball. He lost his enjoyment and just couldn't get into the game. He came to seirin everyday and every weekend trying to win kuroko over. But how do you win over someone who you cant even see. Soon Momoi bought Ogiwara to seirin gym when the whole team and all the generation of miracles came down one Saturday, well apart from kuroko and he told them the story of kuroko nan.

It all made sense why kuroko didnt play anymore but no one could accept kuroko quitting. But how could they drag him back to basketball if his love died at his nan grave.
