Creek, Creek, Creek

She began her new life standing up, surrounded by cold darkness and stale, dusty air.

Metal against metal. A lurching sounds was beneath her, shaking the floor. She fell in a sudden moment, drops of sweat beading on her forehead. Pushing herself against one of the four cold, metal walls, she brought her legs to her chest and rested her chin on her knees.

Nausea filled her stomach. She wanted to cry, but no tears came. She sat alone, waiting.

My name is Ember, she thought.

That was the only thing she could remember her about life. She remembered snow on trees, leaves on the ground, sunshine. But nothing about where she came from, and where he was going.

"Someone...help...me!" she screamed, each word ripping her throat raw.

A loud clank rang from above. Ember sucked in a startled breath of hair. She watched as the straight line across the ceiling expanded. A heavy grating sounds revealed two sliding doors, being forced open. The light stabbed her eyes. She raised a hand to cover her face.

She allowed her eyes too adjust, and made out many figures. She was surrounded by a large group of boys, staring down at her, confused.
