"She couldn't take it any more."

I stand up.

"She was planning her escape for a month."

I turn around.

"Her visit to the scientists last month sparked it."

I run to my bed.

"She still hasn't told me the whole of what they did and said to her."

I hug Ghost.

He's telling me.

Finally.

He wraps his arms around my waist.

"What did they do to her? What she told you, anyway." I don't know why that's the first question I ask.

"They forced her into her Other Half's memories. They forced her to tell them everything about the memories. It hurt her. Physically and mentally. She told me, and I quote, 'I can never go through that again. It's not good, I need to get away from them forever.'" Ghost's voice is muffled.

"Why didn't she tell me?" I ask.

He doesn't answer.
