Chapter 15

Levy screamed all over again. She couldn't believe the fact that Natsu was already Lucy's official boyfriend. For her, it was a great achievement. Although she was a quiet girl, she couldn't help but let out whoops of happiness for her bestfriend. She felt so proud. She felt like she did a very good job in making everything this perfect.

Well, not for Lucy. This was the very main step, after all. She smirked inwardly as she thought about the next step. She knew it was really evil for her to do that. She knew she shouldn't be taking advantage of his feelings towards her. But this was all for her friend's sake. This was all for the sake of all the girls he hurt. She felt hesitant just thinking about it at first, but she knew this was for the better. At least, that's what she think. She thought that she shouldn't feel sorry for him. After all, he didn't feel sorry for the girls he hurt. She didn't let the good side of her take over.

She didn't let Levy know about her plan and she didn't spill everything that has happened before that. Luckily, she never asked.

"I'm so proud of you." Levy said as she grinned brightly at her bestfriend. "I never thought this day would come. Thank goodness, you've changed!" Lucy felt a twinge of guilt but shrugged it off and smiled at her like she was really happy. Like no one could ever take the happiness from her. Levy grinned wider. "As a congratulations, I'm gonna treat you to dinner. Come on!"

They took a quick stroll around the city they were in. Lucy happened to spot a white haired girl who happened to be Lisanna. Lisanna saw her too, and she just stared back at Lucy with empty eyes. She looked like she hadn't slept for a long time, seeing the big bags around her eyes. Lucy beamed at her, but Lisanna replied with nothing but an empty look.

"I gotta go check on something." Lucy slowly told Levy, as she looked at Lisanna with questioning eyes. "I'll follow you to the diner. Go ahead." She ran towards Lisanna when Levy nodded and ran off with her growling stomach.

"So, uhh, hi, Lisanna." Lucy mumbled awkwardly, but Lisanna didn't respond. "I have great news." She tried to look excited.

"Really? What is it? That Natsu and you already got together?" She asked with hatred in her voice. "Congratulations." She didn't look very happy at what she said.

"Well, yeah." Lucy answered, wondering on how Lisanna found out all about it. "But this is my main step, Lisanna. I can finally avenge you and all the other girls he has hurt." She held Lisanna's hands and looked at her with promising eyes.

Lisanna suddenly had this little glint of happiness in her eyes. "Really?" Her voice sounded like she wasn't believing it, but her actions said otherwise. She hugged Lucy tightly. "Thank you, Lucy. Thank you." She croaked as she let go after a moment. Tears had welled up in her eyes and she wiped it off. "I owe you."

Lucy smiled. "I thought you were mad at me. Anyway, I have to go. Levy's waiting for me at the diner." Lisanna waved goodbye as she beamed at Lucy who ran away.

"What took you-" Levy stopped inquiring as she noticed someone behind Lucy. Confused, Lucy turned around and saw Natsu with a dazzling grin on his face.

"Yo!" His pink locks caught Lucy's attention as she acknowledged his presence. "Surprise!" He seemed really happy like he became a millionaire. "Hi girlfriend!" Levy's squeal was a little bit off, annoying Lucy. She felt happy deep inside though. Why? She asks herself, but the next set of thoughts was cut off by Natsu. "Can I take my girlfriend out on a date?"

Levy nodded eagerly. "Oh, sure! Sure! Go ahead. I don't mind." She said, giggling. "Don't wanna be a third wheel, so off I go! See 'ya, Lucy!" She winked, and Lucy heard Levy's voice in her mind. Don't forget to tell me what happened!

Lucy jumped as Natsu put an arm around her. "What do you wanna do?"

"Before anything, I would like for you to know that Lucy Heartfilia doesn't like surprises," She removed the arm around her. "and don't do that because she'd feel suffocated."

Natsu feigned shock, but Lucy could see the little disappointment in his face. "Okay..." He still wanted to protest and say it's supposed to be like that because they were in a relationship, but with Lucy's menacing glare, he knew he had to stop. "Shall I leave?" The sadness in his voice made Lucy feel quite guilty.

She shook her head. "I don't wanna waste your effort into coming here, so let's go." Lucy looked away and Natsu couldn't help but smile at her genuinely. "Geez, don't look at me like that."

"Why, are you melting?"

"Yeah." She whispered inaudibly which was bad for Natsu.

"What?"

Lucy, with flushed cheeks, rolled her eyes. "Never mind, I said on to the date!"

The day passed by in a blur with Natsu and her hanging out at the park, which, by the way, was Lucy and Natsu's favorite place for some weird reason. They liked to watch kids aimlessly running around with innocent grins on their faces. When Natsu thought about kids, he told Lucy that they should make one. Lucy had smacked him for saying that out loud. Good thing the children never heard it-they were screaming like crazy.

Lucy sighed and didn't know why she did it. "When it comes to their noises, I don't like it." She mumbled quietly.

"You want to make revenge?" Natsu inquired and Lucy's eyes widened a bit. Too afraid to look him in the eye, her heart beating rapidly... she didn't know what to say. "Hey, are you okay?" Natsu asked with a concerned look. That being seen, Lucy sighed in relief. He didn't figure it out yet.

"Yeah. W-What revenge are you talking about anyway?"

Natsu smirked and it was a naughty one. "Let's go into your bedroom and you scream as loud as you-ow!" Natsu rubbed his arm from Lucy's great punch, pouting. "I was just kidding."

Their day ended with that line and the sky was filled with clouds. The two realized that this may be the last day of Winter. Weird as it is, it was the coldest. A snowflake fell yet again, the children running back to where their houses were. Lucy let out a shaky breath, trying to concentrate on the coldness of the atmosphere.

"You cold?" Natsu spoke in a way that Lucy didn't know he could do. Softly and full of concern. Now Natsu's scarf was all around her neck, letting her feel warmth.

She pursed her lips into a thin line. "Thanks, but you didn't have to do it. I actually wanted to feel cold, if you didn't notice."

Natsu shook his head defiantly. "Don't want for you to get some cough and cold. It'll break my heart." Though he said that jokingly, Lucy felt that he meant every word he said. Biting the insides of her cheek, Natsu laughed at her reaction. Suddenly, Lucy remembered her mission: Break His Heart. I really will, Natsu... soon enough, probably.

As they reached Lucy's house, Natsu waved goodbye. Lucy felt the need to say it to him. It was like, someone was telling her to do it that night, and it can be her mind. Natsu musn't be happy, her mind says. What about her heart? She doesn't really know up until now...

In the end, she didn't have the chance to break it to him.

Before going to sleep, she made a promise to herself. I promise to tell him tomorrow morning.

The night had ended, and the fateful day had arrived wherein the secrets will be revealed. The blond beauty woke up, got dressed and did all her morning routine. Coming out of the gate, Lucy saw Natsu, standing by. She reached up and pecked Natsu on his cheek much to his surprise. Then Lucy walked away from him silently like nothing ever happened.

"Did you just...?"

"Yeah, I did." Some part of her said: "April 5. Sorry, Natsu, but I'll be breaking your heart today." The other part told her: "No! Why would I say sorry? He hurt the girls and my friend, Lisanna! That's something unforgivable. He should be the one apologizing!"

"Wow, unbelievable." Natsu murmured cutting off Lucy's train of thoughts. He leaned down and pecked Lucy's cheek as well.

Her cheeks burned up. "W-What are you doing, idiot?"

"Same to you. What happened? Did you have a good morning?" Yes, actually. Today I'm gonna break your heart. Lisanna, after 3 months of waiting, here it is. You're finally gonna get the revenge you've always wanted right from the start. "I shouldn't be surprised that you didn't answer my question."

Lucy took a really deep breath. This is it. Finally. She thought to herself as she looked Natsu in the eye, with him peering at her with glimmering eyes.
