13| EVERYTHING FALLS APART

[ Chapter Thirteen ]

Sectionals was right around the corner and they were all stressed. Raven was worried that Finn was going to find out about Puck being the real father of Quinn's baby. Or Rachel for that matter which was somehow even worse. They needed to focus on Sectionals which was the most important thing at the moment. Raven loved Quinn, so she couldn't let her life crumble even more than it was already.

That day, Raven was retrieving things out of her locker when Quinn walked up to her, "Hey Q."

"Hey Raven. When were you planning on telling me that you're dating Puck?" Quinn asked her.

Raven's eyes grew wide, "Omigod. I totally forgot to tell you." She smiled sheepishly, "I hope it's okay. It just sort of happened. Look, I know Puck is a womanizer but he's been pretty sweet to me and I think he actually likes me."

"He better actually like you if you two are going out, Ray." Quinn told her as Raven shut her locker.

"Yeah, so, he definitely likes me." Raven smiled at Quinn, "And I really like him. If this is weird for you at all, we can break up."

Quinn shook her head quickly, "If you're happy, I'm happy. But watch out for Santana."

Raven groaned as they went down the hallway, "Santana is my friend but she can be such a bitch and Puck isn't hers anyways."

Quinn nodded, "As long as you're prepared, Ray."

Raven raised an eyebrow, "Are you sure you're okay with this, Q?"

Quinn smiled, "Yeah, why wouldn't I be?"

Raven shrugged and looped their arms together, "I mean, he is your baby daddy."

"Shut up." Quinn groaned.

Raven walked to the chorus room later on to find a couple of the members gathered around the piano, "Hey guys." Raven set her bag down, "What are you all talking about?"

"We're wondering who Mr. Schuester's replacement is." Artie answered.

Raven groaned, "I hope it isn't that creepy math teacher."

Tina grinned at her, "That's what I just said."

Raven leaned against the piano just as Rachel came in.

"Hey guys. Did any of you think it was weird the way that Puck rushed to Quinn's aide during rehearsal yesterday?" Rachel asked.

Raven sucked in a breath. The other glee club members besides Quinn didn't know that Raven was dating Puck, and Rachel was about to find out that Puck was the father if they weren't careful.

Quinn had slipped on the floor yesterday and Raven, Puck and Finn went over to her. Raven knew she was fine and had just gone to help her up but Puck and Finn seemed so concerned.

Mercedes looked concerned and said, "No."

"I mean, he likes her." Artie said, "I mean, they're friends. We all know that."

"Yeah, but it seemed like more than that." Rachel said, "I've never told you guys this before, but I'm a little psychic. I can't read minds or anything yet, but I do have a sixth sense. Something is definitely going on there."

"Rachel." Raven smiled at her friend, "They're just friends."

Mercedes looked worried, "Uh. We've got to go."

"Wait. We need to practice." Rachel said.

"Oh, and we will, as soon as Mr. Schuester names a faculty adviser to replace him." Kurt responded.

"It's nothing to be scared of. It's not like Carrie or anything." Rachel sighed as they all left the classroom.

Mercedes turned on her phone as she walked down the hallway with some of the other members, "Hey. She's onto it."

Tina responded, "I know, it's really freaking me out. Hold up. Artie's buzzing in. I'm going party line."

"Dudes, this is serious. If she finds out, she's going to tell Finn. She's a total trout mouth." Artie said.

Raven had joined the conversation before this but finally spoke, "We are so screwed."

"Kurt wants in." Tina said and handed her phone to him.

"I say we lock Rachel up until after Sectionals. I volunteer my basement." Kurt said.

"We can't. We need her to sing." Mercedes responded.

"Damn her talent." Kurt answered.

Santana buzzed in, "We just heard. Who told?"

"We assumed it was you." Artie answered.

"Why would I do that?" Santana asked.

"To get back at Puck. Aren't you guys dating?" Kurt asked.

Raven winced and Mercedes whispered, "Are you okay?"

Raven shook her head, "I'll tell you later."

"Sex isn't dating." Santana said.

"If it were, Santana and I would be dating." Brittany said.

They all stopped and raised an eyebrow at each other.

"Anyways. We're not dating or having sex anymore. He's seeing someone else. He won't tell me who but I'll find out eventually." Santana responded, "And, I don't want to rock the boat. Since Quinn got pregnant, me and Raven are top dogs around here."

Raven grinned, "Thank you, Santana."

"I mean, it's true." Santana said.

"Hold up. Rachel's walking by." Mercedes answered.

Raven stilled from beside her.

Mercedes said, "Hey hot mama. Okay, she's gone. Look, I know I screwed up telling all you guys about Quinn and Puck, and I feel really terrible about it, but we can not let Rachel find out about this. If she tells Finn, he's going to flip."

"And then we really have no chance at Sectionals." Kurt responded.

They all sighed and hung up their phones.

Puck approached Raven at her locker later that day while she was struggling to reapply her mascara in her mirror, "Maybe I should just go to the bathroom," she mumbled to herself and then turned to see Puck.

"Hey babe." He whispered.

"Hey, Noah." Raven raised an eyebrow, "What are you doing here?"

"Did you tell Quinn about us?" He asked.

Raven nodded, "I mean, of course. I needed to, she's my best friend."

Puck leaned against the locker next to hers, "Are you sure that was a good idea?"

"Noah. If I can't tell anyone, what's the point of this? I thought you wanted everyone to know." Raven asked him.

"I do." Puck nodded, "I just thought you might not want them to."

"Well, glee club is going to find out eventually." Raven told him, "And it's probably better sooner rather than later." She smiled and rose on her tiptoes to kiss him. He immediately deepened the kiss and Raven's eyes fluttered shut but she knew she couldn't do this in the middle of the hallway so she pulled back quickly before it could turn into a makeout session.

Puck glared softly at her and then peered over his shoulder where a couple of kids were looking at them, "Nothing to see here. Go."

The kids scurried away and Raven grinned softly, "That's kinda hot." She closed her locker and smiled at him, "You ready for glee club?"

Puck slung an arm around her shoulder in answer.

"Now I have to take those Jewish baby tests." Quinn complained to Raven, "Or the baby will not be normal."

"Is that what you were talking to Puck about?" Raven asked. The two were in the bathroom, Raven was trying to fix her makeup and Quinn was keeping her company.

"Yeah." Quinn sighed, "I mean, I would have asked you to come with me but you aren't Jewish."

Raven nodded, "Honestly, I don't mind. He should take you." Raven finished and looked at Quinn, "It is his fault."

Quinn sighed, "Finn's going to be suspicious though."

"Just tell him you have to go to a doctor's appointment and say I'm coming with you." Raven offerred.

"I guess I could try that." Quinn nodded, "Thanks, Ray."

"No problem." Raven smiled, "Also, I need your advice. When should I tell the Glee club about Puck and I? It's stressing me out."

"Whenever you're ready though people are already suspicious especially after your display in the hallway today." Quinn told her, smirking.

Raven groaned, "Crap."

"Don't worry, it wasn't any kids from glee club so you're fine for now." Quinn told her, "But you should definitely say something soon."

"Of course I will." Raven nodded.

"Hey guys?" Mr. Schuester came into the glee club room at the next meeting, "Let's gather round. Well, I have found my replacement. So give it up for Ms. Pillsbury."

Everyone clapped softly.

"Why is the guidance counselor going to coach us in singing?" Raven whispered to Puck, "Also, you have to take Quinn to get those tests."

"Why can't you take her?" Puck whispered back.

"Because you're the one that's Jewish and you're the one who got her into this mess in the first place." Raven hissed at him, "I can come too."

Puck just looked away from her and back to Mr. Schuester who was speaking, "Now, I don't know what the future holds for me and for us. But I know Saturday, you're going to make me proud. You guys are going to be great. So, goodbye for now."

"Wait. What about our set list?" Mercedes asked him.

"I can't help you with that. You've got to figure that out for yourselves. All right guys." Mr. Schuester turned around and left.

Artie looked at them, "Well, we have to do Proud Mary in wheelchairs. That's in."

"And Don't Stop Believing, for sure." Finn added.

"What about the ballad?" Tina asked.

Rachel grinned, "I would be thrilled to contribute a ballad from my repertoire."

"Okay, you know what, Miss Bossy Pants." Mercedes stood up, "Enough. I've worked just as hard as you, and I'm just as good as you. You know, you always end up stealing the spotlight."

"Mercedes. Do you honestly think you're as strong as a ballader as I am?" Rachel asked.

"Okay, um, Rachel." Ms. Pillsbury started, "Why don't you let Mercedes give it a try?"

Mercedes smiled as Rachel went to her seat. The band and piano started playing And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going.

Raven grinned at Puck, "This is going to be great."

And Mercedes was indeed great. She sang that ballad like she owned it, and it was almost like she did. Half of the glee club was standing up and clapping in the middle and Raven jumped up and down with joy.

When it ended, the room erupted in applause and Rachel walked forward.

"It's clear the room adores you. And although it wouldn't be my first choice, I can't wait to see you sing that song at Sectionals. You're amazing, Mercedes. And you deserve it." Rachel said to Mercedes and then hugged her.

Raven grinned and grabbed Puck's hand swinging it with her's slowly. Luckily, Santana didn't notice this time.

The whole glee club was still in the choir room, chatting softly about Sectionals when Finn marched in and went straight for Puck.

"Finn. What are you doing?" Raven asked, as Puck let go of her hand quickly to face him.

"How dare you?" Finn asked and immediately started punching him.

Raven screamed and Ms. Pillsbury ran out of the room, hopefully to get help. Raven and Quinn huddled together, both knowing exactly what was going on. Finn had finally found out.

Mr. Schuester came running into the room with Ms. Pillsbury on his heels, "Hey. Come on, come on. Get off him. Knock it off. Get off!"

"Tell the truth!" Finn screamed.

"Punk just walked in and sucker punched me." Puck yelled back.

"Don't play dumb. You're too dumb to play dumb." Finn yelled at him.

"Who told you this Finn?" Quinn asked, her hand grasping Raven's arm.

"Obviously it was Rachel." Kurt blurted out.

"What? I didn't do anything." Rachel said.

"Yeah, it was Rachel." Finn answered, "But I want to hear it from you. I want to hear it from both of you."

"Finn. Just calm down." Mr. Schuester attempted to calm Finn down but it didn't work.

"No!" Finn yelled, "They're both lying to me. Is it true? Just tell me-is it true?"

Quinn was crying and Raven grasped her hand but Quinn let it go as she walked slowly towards Finn, nodding her head, "Yes. Puck is the father."

Everyone in the glee club just stared at her even though they knew what was going on. Raven swallowed as she watched Puck look at Quinn, not sparing a single glance at his girlfriend. Raven clasped her hands together tightly, trying not to reach out for her best friend or boyfriend.

The room was silent for a minute until Finn stammered, "So, all that stuff in the hot tub. You just made that up?"

"You were stupid enough to buy it." Puck yelled at Finn and Finn lunged for him but Mr. Schuester pulled him back.

Raven stepped up to Puck, her hand reaching to grasp his arm in case he decided to try and hit Finn, but he didn't.

"I am so so sorry." Quinn sobbed.

"Screw this." Finn pushed away from Mr. Schuester, "I'm done with you. I'm done with all of you."

Finn spun around and kicked a chair on his way out of the room.

Everyone stared in silence as Quinn sobbed in the middle of the room. Raven stepped back from Puck and wrapped an arm around Quinn, quickly leading her out of the room.

Raven and Quinn sat down on a small bench and Quinn buried her head in Raven's shoulder. Raven brought an arm up to stroke her best friend's hair.

"I can't believe this is happening, Ray." Quinn sobbed.

"I know, Q." Raven muttered, "This is a fucking mess."

"And it's all my fault." Quinn cried.

"No, Q. It's not." Raven whispered.

Quinn lifted her head, "No, Ray. It definitely is my fault. I should have told Finn privately and we could have avoided this whole thing. Now my relationship is messed up. Your relationship is messed up. I don't have anywhere to live. And we're going to lose at Sectionals."

Raven bit her lip before speaking, "No. We'll fix this. Finn won't stay mad at you forever. My relationship is fine, well, I hope it is. Sectionals will sort itself out and you are going to come and live with me, okay?"

Quinn nodded, wiping a tear, "Thank you, Raven."

Raven nodded, "Do you want to be left alone for a little bit?"

Quinn nodded and Raven got up and walked back towards the choir room.

Hey guys! Long time, no chapter. 

What did you guys think? AHHH! Finn found out about Quinn being pregnant with Puck's child, not his. How do you think this will affect Raven's relationship with Puck? 

I love you all and will see you soon with chapter 14! (I had to split up the Sectionals episode cause there is so much and I didn't want this chapter to be like 5K words)
