Rey's POV
"Thanks for the ride." Ben says getting off the motorcycle and shaking off his helmet hair.

"You don't have to thank me, you gave me the bike." I remind him and he sweeps a piece of hair from my forehead.

"True." He smiles down at me and I seriously want to just kiss him.

"I missed you."

"Awwwwe, is someone getting all sentimental?" He jokes.

I slap his chest with the back of my hand and he catches it, keeping it to his chest.

"I missed you too."

I spread my fingers out from under his hand and they intertwine with his.

"Ready for class?" He asks.

"Ready to spend the day with you."

The bell rings and our hands move together from his chest, but stay intertwined.

Ben slips me homework each class period, telling me to turn it in.

I'm so lucky to have him here for me.

I reunite with Finn and catch up with him, I talk with Poe, but we don't address the talent show.

I also meet Rose, who is clearly in to Finn, but he's oblivious.

Everything feels normal, like I'm just a regular teenage girl with the only problem being to balance classes and a social life. Also figuring out what Ben and I are, as we sit together each class and goof off during breaks.

But I'm not normal.

I have a drunk, high family to go back to with a dead raccoon in the yard, that is there to warn off the other coons, as my father says.

I sigh and look at the pic of my friends and I inside my locker door. So much has changed this year.

"Ready for practice?" Ben asks returning from the bathroom.

"Yeah, thanks again for helping me cram at lunch."

"I needed it too."

"It's not easy being the leads." I tell him.

"I don't need easy."

"Just possible." I finish the quote by Bethany Hamilton, the girl who got her arm bitten off many a shark and learned to surf again.

"You know, if we're gonna do cutesy finish the movie quote stuff, I'm gonna need to see the movie."

"Let's watch it tonight." I offer.

"Your place or my place?" He drapes an arm around my shoulders. "Oh that's right. Your room or mine?"

"Your room or mine?" I raise an eyebrow. "Funny, you think I'm going back after discovering how comfy your bed is."

"Don't act like you haven't been in it before."

I look up at him and he winks.

"I have some unfortunate news." Mrs. Organa announces as we start rehearsal. "It appears the wrong bundle was purchased. So we received the wrong sets and costumes."

"So we're cancelling the show?" Gwen asks.

"Yes, but we will be performing the bundle we did receive." Mrs. Organa tells us. "All, but the two lead roles, will need to be auditioned for again. Ben and Rey, you'll be Aladdin and Jasmine."

"Were doing Aladdin?" Finn asks.

"Yes a and I guarantee everyone in this room will get a role since you had one for The Little Mermaid." Mrs. Organa walks over to a table and grabs a stack of papers. Here are the roles and the lines for audition."

She begins passing them out, but leaves Ben and I for last.

"Here are your lines. Get started on memorizing."

We take them and I glance through them.

"All the studying for nothing." Ben says.

"Yup." I close the script. "Want to go rehearse at home?" I ask.

"Sure." He reaches down and grabs his backpack. "Let's go."

A/N: short chapter, but it is a chapter. I'm trying to update more often, but that may mean shorter chapters.

Also it's been 38 chapters and they still aren't official, talk about a slow burn am I right? 😂
