Ben's POV
"Have you told her you have feelings for her?" Gwen asks, Friday morning.

"No, because I don't have any for her."  I brush past her in the hallway.

"Bullshit, Solo." She comes after me. "You followed her to Disneyland, saved her from her evil foster dad, took her in, and have been treating her like your girlfriend."

"We haven't talked since Disney."

"Why?" She asks.

"It's none of your business."

"Tell me."

"No."

"Ben."

"It's not your place."

"Ben."

"No Gwen."

"Ben."

"I'm not good enough!" I snap at her, stopping in the hallway.

Gwen stares at me shocked at my outburst.

"Is that what you wanted to hear?" I ask. "I stopped talking to her, I stopped giving her my attention, I stopped having any feelings towards her."

"Why don't you think you're good enough?" She asks.

"You see how she is around her friends. She is always forgiving them, I don't forgive people that easily. She let Finn give her a piggyback ride, when she was literally holding my hand. Poe got her comfy shoes to walk in, I couldn't compete with that."

"So what did she say when you gave her the Rose Gold Minnie Ears?"

"I didn't." I mumble.

"Why not?"

"Why complicate things?" I ask. "She's been hanging out with Finn and Poe and she went out with Poe."

"I doubt it was a date."

"I heard her giggling to Finn about it."

Gwen sighs. "So you're giving up on her?"

"I didn't give up on her, she gave up on me." I turn to walk away.

"Hold on." Gwen grabs me. "You start blowing her off and you think she gave up on you?" Gwen shouts. "Fuck you!" She shoves me and stomps off.

I sit down for drama... alone.

Gwen sits with Rey and Finn, so I lurk at the back, hoping to make a run for it when she goes to show our video.

Whatever it is, it can't be good.

My mom goes up to Gwen and pulls her aside.

They begin talking, but I can't hear what it's about. Gwen nods and shakes her head and my mother glances at me, then back at her.

Gwen returns to her seat next to Rey and I pull out my phone.

Ben to Gwen: What was that about
Gwen: I told her you had no idea what I was doing and what the video was on. She asked to only use a still shot and I said sure.

Mom to Ben: Off your phone and you get a C for the project.

I put my phone away and she begins class.

"For the project we had two pieces stand out, and not because they were both filmed at Disneyland and accidentally caught each other in their film... the first video is Rey and Finn's." She hits play and the screen comes to life with Rey and Finn.

You see them talking, but don't hear it over the selected music piece for the video. They talk in ride lines, while getting food, there's the Rose Gold Ears scene, and the piggyback ride.

What catches my eye is when she's on Finn's back she suddenly looks back at me and her huge smile fades, to a frown, but when I glance back at her... to a meaningful one and then she blushes and looks away.

The music lessens and the screen fades to black, then brightens to them lounging on a couch with Finn's arm around her.

"So how long have you two been dating?" Poe asks from behind the camera.

They both laugh. "We're just friends." Rey tells him.

"Best friends. Right Peanut?"

"Right peanut." Rey agrees with Finn.

The video ends.

"This is a great example of love and friendship. Love isn't always being in a relationship, sometimes is just being there for someone when they need it... next is-"

Rey suddenly gets up and darts out of the classroom.

I go to get up and follow her.

"Ben, sit." My mother tells me and I oblige. "Finn, go ahead. Be back by the end of class."

"Yes Mrs. Organa." He says and gets up, heading after Rey.

"Next is a still shot from Gwen and Ben." She changes the screen and it shows me looking at Rey.

I am standing at the hub and Rey is walking through the crowd towards Adventureland.

"There is no interaction here, but can you feel the emotion pouring from the screen?" She asks the class.

There are quite a few nods and I'm kinda glad Rey didn't have to see me spying on her in Disneyland.

I swallow hard and pull my phone out to text Rey, but what my mother says next catches me off guard.

"We will be doing the play, 'The Little Mermaid', this winter." My mom announces. "Auditions will be in one week." She grabs a stack of nearby papers. "Everyone is required to audition, some will have major parts requiring extra rehearsals, so only audition for the roles you can commit to."

Rey and Finn come back in and approach Mrs. Organa.

"I'm sorry." Rey says.

"It's fine dear." She hands them both the paper with the audition info. "I expect you to try out for Ariel."

Rey looks at the paper, then smiles. "I will."

I'm so going for Eric.
