Rey's POV
"You're going to do great." I smile at Poe. 

"Thanks." He smiles back.

"What about me?" Finn chimes in.

"You too Peanut." I tell him. 

"Yes the almighty great Finn here to save the day with his percussion bell set." Poe jokes and Finn strikes a pose. 

"Performers to check in." Mr. Clovis announces through the gym. 

"Wish me luck."

"You don't need it." I smile at him. "But good luck anyways."

Finn and Poe walk off to check in.

Poe takes his seat and the applause dies down.

Finn gives a nod that he is ready, as he stands at his bells.

The familiar soft strums of Poe's guitar begin to fill the silent gym and Finn joins in on bells.

Poe smirks, as he does the string that sounds wrong, but finds perfectly.

"I've been gone for so long now.
Chasing everything that's new. I've forgotten how I got here, but I have not forgotten you." Poe sings.

"We were just children, but our eyes opened and you were all that I could see.

You came close enough to know my heart beat, but still not close enough for me.

Through the good times and the bad, you were the best I never had. The only chance I wish I had to take.

There was no writings on the wall. No warning signs to follow.

I know now and I just can't forget."

Poe is looking directly at me, like he's singing to me.

Is he?

"You're the best I never had."

I look away and down at my hands knotting together in my lap.

"In this motel, well past midnight. When I'm bluer than a bruise.

You come drifting in through the half light."

I smile to myself remembering the lights of the motel flickering in the hallway to our room.

"In your funny yellow shoes."

I glance up and see Poe smiling down at his guitar and Finn smiles to me.

The song is about me.

"And hope that's you standing at my doorway and that's the scratching of your keys."

It has to be.

"And I hope this song I'm singing, some day finds you. My letter to You."

Poe looks into my eyes again and I give a small smile.

"Through the good times and the bad, you were the best I never had. The only chance I wish I had to take. There was no writings on the wall, no warning signs to follow. I know now and I just can't forget. You're the best I  never had."

Finn begins singing the back up Na's.

"You're the best I never had." Poe finishes the last chord with an apologetic smile.

The crowd begins to cheer.

Ben's POV
I watch as Poe basically sings a song to Rey and my blood boils.

"I'm pretty sure, he's singing to her." Hux whispers to me.

"We've worked too hard for this." Gwen narrows her eyes.

"What?" I ask, but she gets up and leaves.

I look back to Hux, who shrugs.

Poe finishes his song and I see Rey smile at him.

Fucker. I glare at him.

The crowd claps, but a sudden blaring noise pierces my ears and silences them.

Water shoots out and I realize this is not a fire drill.

I spring out of my seat and Hux begins to laugh, slowly collecting his things.

I leave my backpack and hurry down the nearby stairs.

"Rey!" I shout and she makes eye contact with me.

I push through the crowd and I see her getting pushed around.

"Ben!" She shouts and extends a hand towards me over the crowd.

I reach my hand out and can almost grasp her.

"Rey!" I hear Poe shout and shove myself forward, clasping Rey's hand.

I pull her towards me and she stumbles into my chest.

"Lets get you out of here." I say slinging an arm around her shoulders.

We shuffle with the crowd out the gym, through the hall, and outside.

Hundreds of wet teenagers gather on the front yard of the school.

"Are you okay?" I ask her, as we sit together on the grass.

"Yeah." She stares at the grass.

"What's going through your head?" I brush a piece of wet hair from her face.

"Can I be honest?" She asks. "And you won't get mad?"

I sigh. "Go ahead."

"I think Poe's song was about me... and I don't know how I feel about him anymore." She pulls a piece of grass and flicks it away.

"Well how do you feel about us?" I ask softly.

She glances up and looks at me for a moment. "What are we?"

I sigh and look down at the grass she had been picking at. "We were friends with benefits... but I don't like being that anymore."

"I feel the same." I can hear the almost relief in her voice.

"Rey!" Finn shouts, running up frantically.

"Hey, I'm alright." She tells him, getting up to her feet.

"No, Mrs. Organa is looking for you."

"What happened?" I ask, worried about my mom.

"Nothing, I guess the foster care system contacted Unkar, who contacted Mrs. Organa." Finn informs us.

"What?" Rey shouts. "Take me to her!"

"Come on." Finn takes off and Rey follows.

I was accepted into the Disney College Program!

I was accepted into the Fall Advantage program cycle and I will be moving to Walt Disney World!

This has been a dream of mine since I heard about it and I cannot wait to see what the future holds.
