We all stood in a room only six of us left as we waited instructions for the next few weeks. Four stepped forwards and began to speak. "Listen up this week we will be starting preparations for your final stage. You'll be put through things called Fear Simulations, how do you win you ask? Well slowing your heart rate down is one way, the other is finding a way to face your fear. Good luck." With that he leads us to a empty room and he walks into a separate adjoining room and starts calling us one by one into the other room. When it's my turn I walk into the room and sit down on the chair and he injects a data chip into my neck and suddenly I find myself surrounded by darkness with water slowly rising up around me.

    I start to panic and feel my throat tighten,  I try to swim but my hands are chained to my sides and I start to scream out in terror the water reaches my throat and I try to tell myself that it isn't real I'm not actually drowning but gosh it feels so very real. I try to focus and for a good couple minutes I don't but just as the water reaches my chin I close my eyes and imagine that I'm standing on dry land and slowly very slowly my heart rate returns to normal and I gasp and I'm back in the simulation room Four staring at me with awe.

     "What?" I ask confused.

     "That only took you three minutes to complete." He replies before shaking his head and shooing me out of the room.

  I stand there bewildered and confused but decide to focus on the task at hand and go back to my room and sleep. The next three weeks of training are intense and designed to break our resolve both physically and mentally strenuous sapping our strength little by little. Finally at the end of the three weeks we are called once again into the meeting room. This time it's Four who's announcing the ranks.

      "Alright Initiates here are the rankings, Rei in first, Blade in second, Shaun in third, Ben in fourth, Tyson fifth, and Steve in sixth. Here's who's being cut, Ben, Tyson and Steve you are now faction less." He escorts them out and Max turns to three of us. "Congratulations you three all you have to do now is get through the next five weeks and go through your fear landscape and you'll become official members work hard and train well." We all nod and spend the rest of the five weeks training hard and at the end of those mentally straining weeks we are lead into a empty room. Four speaks "Alright you three, this is your final test. The fear landscape, face your fears one way or another. Slow your heart rate or find a way to conquer them. Good luck." Rei goes first and she passes but takes ten minutes to complete it. When it's my turn I start to panic but try to act calm and composed. I pull back my hair and expose my neck and Four slides the tip of the needle under my skin and pushes the plunger injecting me with the computer chip. "Ready?" He asks me studying my eyes for any signs of fear. "Yeah." He then opens the door.

    As soon as I step into the Fear Landscape, the empty room shifts so that I'm standing on a Ferris wheel putting me thousands of miles above the ground. I start breathing heavily, and internally panic going into a full on panic attack but I try to regain my strength. Eventually I reach up and slap myself across the face snapping myself out of my fear momentarily. I then jump before I can react and feel a spike of fear but then I land safely on the ground and the scene morphs to where I'm trapped in a giant glass tank with water rising rapidly.

I begin to scream and pound on the glass yelling for help my lungs burning for air as the water rises up to my chin. I then stop and think to myself. Calm down it's not real it's okay you're alive your not going to die. Deep breaths, in, out, in, out. I do that for about five minutes before my heart rates steadies and the scene morphs again to where someone is pointing a gun at my friends and I feel my throat tighten and I freeze not knowing what to do. The person pointing the gun hands his gun to me.

     "Kill them now. Or else I'll kill you." He snarls.

       I freeze and all my fiber of my being is screaming not to do it as I scan the faces of my friends frozen in my fear my face turning pale. After a few more moments of silence I bring the gun to my head and pull the trigger. Suddenly I'm in the empty Dauntless compound and I panic and run all throughout the halls screaming for someone anyone to appear.

      "Please come back!!! I'm going to be left alone!!! I can't take it!!" I crumble to the floor body shaking mind going crazy with self depreciating thoughts. My fault they left. I wasn't good enough I'm the worst. I don't know why I thought I was strong enough. I start to cry but then stop cradling my head between my arms and taking deep shuddery breaths and eventually after what seems like an eternity the scene changes to my parents.

      I freeze terrified as they walk towards me and begin to hit and kick me hurting me bruising me and I stand there taking it all in. They snarl "How could you leave us to be Dauntless you'll never be brave you're just a stupid little kid pretending that you can make it in the real world but we know the truth you'll never survive without us Blakely. That name puts my mind into pieces I never ever wanted to be called that again and I stand up and face them forcing them back a step as I step forwards hatred and fury blazing in my eyes.

        "No I don't you get it. I left because I hated you. I am not some stupid little toy that you get to toss around and act like I have no feelings. I am done with you, done with acting and submitting to your stupid little games. I am sixteen years old. And guess what? You don't get to rule me anymore and if you ever touch me ever again I guarantee I'll send the whole Dauntless compound after you." I finish with a deadly glare and the room once again returns to its empty state and I am put before Four and Max who nod to each other and look at me.
