Prologue: A New Arrival

In a world full of so many different monsters of all shapes and sizes, each with their own unique characteristics from one another, most people would think that there wouldn't be any kind of surprise when a new one is discovered. However, it is not that simple. One day, there may be a time where no one could prepare for an unwelcomed creature, especially if this one can bring complete chaos to the world and destroy the balance of nature permanently...

It was a cold day in the "Old" World, especially at the Arctic Ridge. Clouds mostly covered the sky as a snowstorm was approaching the area. Most wise hunters knew that it would be too difficult to go out hunting now, forcing them to stay out from the area for now until the storm leaves. Most Popos and other small monsters ran into their dens or caves for shelter as well, leaving the area clear for most large monsters that live there to roam as they please...

No one's POV

High above the sky a small, quadrupedal "wyvern" was flying in the stormy clouds. Its physical body resembles much like a Tigrex, or a Nargacuga, or even a Barioth. However, this one is much smaller than those monsters. Strangely, this one is almost the size of a normal person's hand. Not only that, but this unknown creature is far unusual than any monster recorded from history. Even though this monster may resemble other monsters' physicals forms, this monster's entire body is engulfed in shining bright light, almost as bright as the sun. Due to how bright its body is, it's hard to make out the creature's full appearance. The only things that can be made out are the fact that its eyes are lime green, and that it has a small crystal embedded at the center of its chest.

The small monster kelp flying for some time, flapping its wings as much as it could against the cold and windy air. Soon, however, it starts to descend to the mountains below to get away from the storm while it caws and screeches. As it did, it heard a roar below while its eyes focus on where it heard the roar and flew in the direction.

Meanwhile...

At the edge of one of the mountainsides, a Tigrex was seen walking casually in the snow. Most would think that it was an ordinary Tigrex, but upon closer inspection, it actually isn't. Unlike the usual Tigrex, this one's forelimbs and head have a blue coloration with visible pulsating veins. Its veins were visible and could be seen pulsating blue from the wings along with the monster's chest from a few feet away. This kind of Tigrex is a deviant from the normal kind, being known by people as a Grimclaw Tigrex.

The deviant soon stops walking and looks around its surroundings, hungry for some unlucky Popo or any other living creature that it can get its fangs on. But it lets out a low, deep growl upon seeing nothing around that it can hunt because of the approaching storm. It then lets out a breath before starting to turn back to find some other place that has prey to kill. As it began to walk again, snow started to slowly fall from the sky and a strong gust of wind blew by.

Short time skip...

After a while of walking, the Grimclaw Tigrex came to a different cliff than before. It stops at the edge and looks down before it noticed a mother Popo and its offspring were walking cautiously in the snow. The two must have either been left behind or were separated from the rest of their group and left to catch up, but the large Wyvern didn't care. For it saw an easy opportunity to eat and enough food for at least the rest of the day and night. Its hungry eyes were locked on the two as it lets out a quiet growl while it follows them from above. It quickly caught up to the two and was about to jump off the cliff, when suddenly the Tigrex and Popos caught a very bright light in the corner of their eyes from above. They all stop moving and look up at the light to see where it was coming from.

Turns out the light was actually coming from the creature from before. It flew to the Tigrex and lands in front of it a few feet away. It lets out a low cry as it looks up at the Tigrex and the latter looks down at it in confusion, tilting its head.

The Popos saw this happened and instantly panicked when they saw the Tigrex above them. They both let out a whale before starting to run away from the area as fast as they could, knowing that the main prey of Tigrexs' are in fact Popos.

As that happened, the Tigrex above barely noticed its food was fleeing, causing it to change its focus back to them. It snarls and lets out a roar before leaping off the cliff and lands several meters away from the Popos' behind. It then began to sprint on all fours as fast as it could, quickly catching up to them again. It was just right behind the offspring, easily within reach. It opens its mouth wide enough for it to bite on the young Popo, but before it could the smaller monster from earlier flew in front of its face. Due to how close and bright the creature was, it practically blinded it, causing the Tigrex to forcefully shut its eyes close as it whales in pain and stops sprinting in its tracks. It tried to shake the pain away, but it couldn't open its eyes despite trying to force itself to. It instinctively tried swinging its tail around and roars in a rage, trying to make the small monster scared and hopefully scaring it away.

While the Tigrex was busy, the Popos had enough time to escape the scene, and the small creature lands on the snowy ground, staring up at the Tigrex in curiosity. It blinks as it tilts its head and silently watches the Tigrex suffer.

Soon, the Tigrex finally was able to see again and shook off the pain from earlier. It then looks at the smaller monster and glares at it. It snarls at the smaller one before reeling its head back and roars while its veins turn red, pulsating as well. It then lets out an ear-deafening roar into the air that was powerful enough to blow back some of the snow around it.

When the Tigrex roared, the smaller monster became startled. It flew back several feet and hovers in the air as it stares at the Tigrex, wanting to see what it'll do next.

After the Tigrex was done roaring, it snarls at the smaller one and charges forwards at it. But as it got closer, the smaller one flew above the Tigrex's head and tried to fly around it. However, the Tigrex doesn't allow this as it leaps to the small wyvern and opens its mouth. When it was close enough, the Tigrex slams its mouth shut, but the other was fast enough to barely dodge the mouth. And as the Tigrex lands, it used this time to dive towards it and uses its claws to scratch around the Tigrex's face. The Tigrex flinches a little before spinning quickly, sending snow flying around itself. The smaller flew back and spun so its tail smacked the Tigrex's eye directly, causing the Tigrex to roar in pain as it shuts that eye close. The Tigrex then sprints after the small one who flew around to avoid the Tigrex's jaw. But even as it did, the Tigrex turns around and continues to sprint after it. The two went around in a circle for a few minutes, each time that the Tigrex spun around it slipped and fell over but it managed to stay on its feet. Soon though, the Tigrex managed to pounce on the small one and smacks it with its claw, sending it flying and crashing into the ground. The Tigrex roars as it charges after the downed monster.

The small monster slowly began to get up after it stopped crashing. It shook off some of the dirt that was on its head before it got back up on its feet. It was about to fly again, but it saw that the Tigrex was too close and was about to pounce on it. So, out of fear and panic, the creature spreads its wings out and roars. As it did, the crystal in its chest began to glow a bright rainbow color as its body glows a bright gold/yellow. The Tigrex didn't have enough time to stop itself before the light engulfed its entire body, blinding the creature yet again. The light only lasted for a few seconds before it died down and disappeared. When it did, the small monster lets out another cry as it lowers its wings. As it lowers its arms, the creature noticed that the Tigrex was no longer around, as if it just vanished. Not only that, but some of the ground that the Tigrex stood on was also gone, erased from the ground completely, leaving a small crater.

In both curiosity and confusion, the small wyvern walks to the edge of the crater and sniffs around, no longer smelling the Tigrex anymore, like it was never even there in the first place. Feeling no need to be around there any longer, the small wyvern chirps softly before lifting itself in the air and flew off, away from the scene to who knows where.

Meanwhile...

Somewhere else...

In the center of a muddy pond, there was a sudden flash of light matching the small wyvern's light from earlier. A moment after the light appeared, the Grimclaw Tigrex flew out from the light and crashes into the water, sending mud and water everywhere. The Tigrex roars in pain as it slides into the mud for a second before it managed to dig its claws in the mud and stop itself. It hurriedly picks itself up back on its feet and roars, enraged. Just as it was about to go crazy again, the Tigrex noticed something was off. It frantically looks around itself and studies the area around it. It noticed that it was no longer in the snowy mountains from the Old World like it remembered, and instead was in a completely different and unknown place. It was now standing in the middle of a muddy pond surrounded by old, abandoned, ruined buildings that were surrounded by mountains. There was fog everywhere as the weather was overcast.

The Tigrex sniffs the water and the air for just a few seconds before roaring into the air again. It roars so loud that it echos across the land as its veins return to their "natural" blue color It roars so loudly that it scares off any birds or small creatures that were within hearing distance. As it began to stop roaring, everything slowly fades to black.

To be continued...

Hey, everyone. Sorry for the short-ish chapter. I know that this is shorter than the concept teaser, but I'm really busy and I have been working on this chapter all day. I actually had two different ways that this was supposed to turn out, but because I was having so many technical issues due to using my computer instead of my phone like I usually do and kept rewriting this chapter a few times, I decided to make this chapter short to make things easier for me. I promise the next chapter will be much longer, though it'll take longer to make and get out, sorry.

Also, not only am I using my computer, but I am also using Grammarly. I decided to try this out due to always finding myself somehow missing mistakes when and after I go back to reread my works before publishing them. So I decided to try this out to hopefully help fix mistakes that I normally wouldn't have seen if I didn't use it. Let me know

So, yeah. I think that's all for now. Let me know what you thought of the chapter and if using Grammarly helped make this better or not. I have several chapters planned out for this, but I actually don't have time to update for a while due to a lot of personal stuff going on over the next few weeks. When that's all done though, I'll try my best to update this story along with 2 others. I hope you all have a wonderful/night. See ya.
