Chapter 23
Hey, could anyone see Frost and Norvok being a thing?
"So, how do you plan on getting Norvok to trust you?" Caitlin asked Frost as they sat in her lab.
"I was going to do it the easy way and use Cisco's little toy on him." Frost said.
"You want to restore Norvok's memories." Caitlin said.
"It's the fastest way to get him to listen to me, if he already knows he can trust me. Plus, it'll remind him that he hates Amunett. At least, more than he hates me." Frost said.
"You sure you don't want to tell the team beforehand?" Caitlin asked and Frost shrugged.
"Better to ask forgiveness than for permission." Frost said.
"Even though I would've given you permission and still will?" Barry asked as he joined them.
"Wait, what?" Frost asked and Barry chuckled.
"It's a smart play, restoring Norvok's memories. He was a good friend to you and honestly, it couldn't hurt to have someone with criminal connections in our corner." Barry said.
"Thank you." Frost said.
"Just be careful." Barry said and Frost nodded as she went to get the memory device and Caitlin went back to her computer.
"What are you working on?" Barry asked.
"Just running a few tests on myself to make sure that there weren't any ill effects of the split." Caitlin said, right as her computer beeped.
"What's that?" Barry asked.
"I don't know." Caitlin said as she pulled up the alert and was very surprised by what she found.
"Wait, Caitlin, according to this, even though you and Frost have split." Barry said.
"I know, it says I still possess the metahuman gene. Which means that I'm still a meta, even though Frost is no longer a part of me." Caitlin said.
"We'll add that to the list of questions we need to answer." Barry said and Caitlin nodded as he left her lab, leaving her to wonder how this was possible and what her new powers would be, since she doubts that they wouldn't be like Frosts.
"Hello Norvok." Frost said as she entered the gym she knew he stayed holed up in.
"Who are you and how did you find me?" Norvok asked.
"That's not important. What's important is that you have something I need." Frost said.
"And what might that be?" Norvok asked.
"Information." Frost said.
"What kind of information?" Norvok asked.
"Where's Amunet?" Frost asked.
"Who?" Norvok asked and Frost had to admit if she didn't already know him so well, he would've fooled her.
"Amunett Back. She stole something from me. A friend. And I'd like her back. Where is she?" Frost asked.
"If you know who Amunett is, then you know I can't tell you that." Norvok said.
"Even if it would get you out from under her boot." Frost said.
"Yeah, good luck with that." Norvok said.
"I work with the Flash. He's trying to take down Amunet, we just need to know where she is." Frost said.
"Why would I tell you that? Last time I checked, you're a hero and I'm a criminal. Those two things don't mix." Norvok said and Frost rolled her eyes.
"I was really hoping I wouldn't have to do this, but you leave me no choice. Stand still." Frost said as she pulled out the memory ring and slid it on.
"What are you?" Norvok asked, right before Frost punched him in the head and just so happened to make sure that the memory ring made contact with his head, restoring his mind.
"Did you really have to hit me?" Norvok asked.
"No, but I've been wanting to do that ever since I met you, especially after you threatened Caity at that bachelorette party." Frost said casually and Norvok chuckled.
"Fair enough, can I get a hand though." Norvok asked as Frost nodded and helped him up.
"So, Amunett?" Frost asked.
"You really think you and your team can take her down?" Norvok asked.
"I think we have to try. Especially since she's made the mistake of abducting one of our own." Frost said.
"Who?" Norvok asked.
"Allegra Garcia." Frost said.
"That bitch. I knew Amunett was bad, I thought even she would be better than bringing someone who's barely an adult into that mess." Norvok said.
"That doesn't sound good. What is she up to?" Frost asked.
"You sure you want to know? It's not pretty." Norvok asked.
"We need to know what we're dealing with. I'm guessing she's not just selling metas into slavery now." Frost said.
"You're right. She's upped it to all out cage matches. Metahuman fight club. She makes metas fight each other till drops, either from exhaustion or death and then sells them to the highest bidder. She says it's her way of demonstrating the use of her 'products' to her buyers." Norvok said.
"Wow, if I didn't want her dead before, I sure do now." Frost said.
"If I tell you where she is, will get me out of the city until she's no longer an issue?" Norvok asked.
"Done. I'll take you to Star Labs, you give us the location and then we'll get you somewhere safe." Frost said.
"Deal." Norvok said and Frost nodded as they headed out of the gym.
At the same time this was happening, Joe and Eddie were talking to Captain Singh.
"First off, I want to say it's good to see you alive Thawne and it is nice to be able to say that name without disgust in my voice." Singh said, since Barry had restored his memories a few weeks ago.
"So you know then. About my twisted descendant." Eddie asked.
"Yeah, I do. And I'm very sorry you have to be related to him. But anyways, what can I do for you both?" Singh asked.
"We have reason to believe that Warden Wolffe is up to his old tricks." Joe said.
"And by that, I'm guessing you mean selling metahuman prisoners into slavery." Singh asked.
"Yep." Joe said as he explained the situation to Singh.
"What do you need from me?" Singh asked.
"A warrant to search Iron Heights so we have proof to arrest Wolffe." Eddie said.
"Give me an hour. But I get the feeling that this is personal. Who did he take?" Singh asked.
"Allegra Garcia." Joe said.
"One of Iris's new employees." Singh said.
"And the newest member of Team Flash. David, she's just a kid, she shouldn't be forced into slavery." Joe said.
"Let me make a few calls." Singh said, right as Joe's phone rang.
"What's up Barry?" Joe asked.
"What's going on?" Eddie asked after Joe hung up a few minutes later.
"Frost got us a location where Amunett's holding Allegra and the other metas, though apparently she's worse than she was before, since now, in addition to selling metas off to the highest bidder, she makes them fight each other first." Joe said.
"Go, I'll handle any problems with the mayor." Singh said.
"Speaking of which, we need a new one." Joe said under his breath, though Singh heard.
Allegra wasn't sure how much longer she could hold out. Right now Amunett was forcing her to fight in front of a crowd of Central City's richest people, even though she barely had any training in how to use her powers. And her opponent, well, he was a middle aged man who clearly knew how to use his powers, which were density manipulation and he was currently using it to increase the density of his fists as he punched her.
She was badly beaten and honestly, she wasn't even sure why anyone would want to buy her if she survived this and honestly, that was a big if.
However, she was driven from her thoughts and let out a sigh of relief when she heard a very familiar and very welcome sound as the Flash sped into the room and laid out a lightning punch to her opponent, sending him flying back.
"Flash." Amunet said.
"Leslie Jocoy, you're coming with me." Flash said angrily.
"How do you know my real name?" Amunet asked.
"That's none of your business." Flash said.
"You're not taking me down that easily Flash." Amunet said angrily as she attempted to use her powers to send a chunk of metal shards at him, only for them to be intercepted by a breach.
"What the?" Amunet asked, right as she was ice blasted back by Frost as she and Vibe approached her.
"Surprise." Frost said as they watched the crowd start to scatter, only for them to be halted as Joe and Eddie charged in with CCPD.
"CCPD, you're all under arrest." Joe shouted as they pulled out their guns.
"Vibe, I need you to open a breach back to base for Allegra. She's too hurt for me to run to a hospital." Flash said as he checked on Allegra.
"On it." Vibe said as he opened a breach back to Star Labs and Flash grabbed Allegra and sped through it.
"How's she doing?" Frost asked as she and Vibe returned to Star Labs.
"Caitlin's still working on her." Barry said as Cisco removed his goggles.
"Joe and Eddie are wrapping things up at the scene. Eddie even let Frost put the cuffs on Amunett, which she enjoyed way too much." Cisco said.
"Like you wouldn't." Frost said as Caitlin joined them.
"How is she?" Barry asked and Caitlin sighed.
"I managed to stabilize her, but Barry, Allegra has injuries that require being in an actual hospital to treat. There's only so much I can do, especially for people who don't have speed healing." Caitlin said.
"I know. I really only brought her here because I knew she was too hurt for me to take to a hospital. How long will it be before I can move her?" Barry asked.
"Maybe an hour or so. I'll let you know." Cailtin said.
"Am I interrupting something here?" Sara Lance asked as she entered the cortex.
"Sara, what brings you here?" Barry asked.
"I need a favor from you. And it's one you're not going to like." Sara said.
"What is it?" Barry asked.
"I need you to tell me where I can find Thawne." Sara said.
"Why would you want to talk to him?" Barry asked.
"Because I need his help." Sara said.
Okay, so that will be continued in the next chapter of Legends. Also, what power do you guys think Caitlin should have. Like usual, I've created a poll containing my top choices and you guys can pick. For those of you reading this on Wattpad and Archive of Our Own, just use this link to find it: https://strawpoll.com/5rh45j6aq. For those of you reading this on Fanfiction.net, do it this way. Type in strawpoll .com / and then type 5rh45j6aq after the slash to find it, since for some reason, I can't post links on Fanfiction. Here will be your three choices: control over plants, fire powers or healing herself and other people. Poll will remain open until the next chapter of Flash is posted.
