Chapter 16

Okay real quick, yes, I have seen the season finale of the Flash and I thought it was awesome. I don't want to hear any complaints about it, since that's not what the reviews section of these stories are for. And now on with the chapter.

Also, who wants to see Iris as a human vigilante instead of a metahuman.

"Well this is a nice surprise." Henry said when he and Barry entered Barry and Iris's loft to find Iris, Joe, Cecille, Cisco, Caitlin, Ralph, Jax, Stein, Clarissa (who'd also had her memories restored at Martin's insistence, though they'd decided not to restore Lily's simply because they didn't want to remind her of a son she no longer had and Barry and Iris both knew that pain well enough to not wish it on anyone. It was bad enough that Joe and Cecille had to live that pain as well, since for now at least, their daughter Jenna no longer existed, though while Iris preferred not to think about that, she knew that her dad and Cecille were trying to fix that), Harry and Jesse were all waiting and it was decorated for a party.

"Well, we figured we might as well celebrate again." Joe said as he hugged his old friend.

"It's good to see you Joe." Henry said.

"You too. And I'm glad that this time around, you'll be there for Barry's wedding." Joe said.

"So am I. Though I do hope that you two didn't wait until I was released to start planning your wedding." Henry said.

"We did not. This is just convenient. However, we didn't wait to get married." Iris said.

"What do you mean?" Henry asked.

"We decided to elope not long after I woke up from my coma." Barry said.

"Really. What caused that decision?" Henry asked.

"Multiple factors, like the fact that we didn't want to wait to be married again, since we were already married in the old reality." Iris said.

"And there's also what happened the last time you guys tried to go for the traditional wedding." Cisco said.

"What happened?" Henry asked.

"Nazis crashed the wedding." Harry said bluntly.

"I'm sorry, did you say Nazis?" Henry asked.

"Yeah, long story, but basically, it was crashed by Nazis from another earth who wanted to abduct a friend of ours and chose to do so during our wedding." Iris said.

"Okay, I'm clearly going to need to get caught up on a lot." Henry said.

"That is an understatement, but since you're sticking around for a while, I'm sure we can get you all caught up." Joe said.

"Still wondering why I wasn't invited to your first wedding." Ralph asked.

"Yeah, same here." Jesse asked.

"That is a good question. I guess because it was a bit too late to add you to the invite list Ralph and Jesse, you weren't exactly talking to us at the time." Barry said, though honestly, that didn't make him feel any less guilty about it.

"Well, you'll both definitely be on it now." Iris said.

"Good." Ralph said and Jesse looked just as satisfied about it.

"What about Eddie? Have you decided whether or not you're going to let him come to your wedding after all?" Joe asked.

"Still on the fence about that, since honestly, he may be my friend, but he's not the same person he was in the old reality, since the old Eddie never would've made a move on Iris when she was with someone else, not even if they were in a coma." Barry said.

"But don't you think Eddie is going to have questions about why Thawne's DNA is similar to his." Caitlin said.

"A problem that could be solved if we restore his memories." Cisco said.

"Honestly, we probably should. Especially since now Barry is more than fast enough to stop Thawne so Eddie won't need to commit suicide." Iris said.

"Especially since it didn't do any good in the first place, since Thawne was prepared to make sure that any erasure from existence that happened to him was temporary, plus we don't know what other things Eddie changed when he killed himself and wiped out the rest of his descendants." Barry said, since in addition to increasing his powers, Barry had also increased his knowledge of the timeline and now understood the potential additional consequences that Eddie had set into motion when he'd killed himself.

"So, we are bringing Eddie into the fold?" Cisco asked.

"He deserves to know." Barry said.

"But guys, it sounds like you'd basically be telling him that he ended up killing himself for nothing." Ralph said.

"Which is exactly why he should know so he knows that he doesn't have to do it again." Barry said and they all nodded in agreement, since even Iris agreed that Eddie deserved to know the truth.

"So, what exactly are we going to do now that Thawne is captured, Zoom is most likely on another earth, which we have not found any proof of yet, Savitar either does not exist or is still locked up in the speed force and DeVoe isn't due to arrive for another three years, what do we do?" Ralph asked.

"Well, I am going to start talking to Lyla and J'onn about getting the government restrictions lifted from Star Labs so that we can reopen it. In the meantime, I want Cisco and Caitlin to start working on the metahuman cure." Barry said.

"Any reason in particular?" Cisco asked.

"Because I think it's the only way to stop DeVoe before anyone gets hurt, especially since no DeVoe means no Cicada." Barry reminded them.

"So, you want to force the cure onto DeVoe." Caitlin said.

"I know the one rule we came up with was that we'd never force it on anyone, but I think that DeVoe is the one exception to that rule, since literally the only way I can see us stopping him right now is if he doesn't have his powers." Barry said.

"But that also runs the risk of him discovering the cure and using his superhuman intelligence to not only replicate it and take away all our powers permanently, but also find a way to make himself immune to the cure. It's too much of a risk." Cisco said.

"He's right Barry and you know it." Caitlin said.

"Maybe, but it still leaves a lot to figure out." Barry said.

"Maybe you could bring Marlize into this, since remember, she realized what her husband had become and without her, while DeVoe won't be stopped, it will set him back." Joe said.

"Not a bad idea." Barry said.

"Anyways, I am going to be working on helping build out the Central City office of Kara's newspaper, Danvers Daily News." Iris said.

"Right, you're working for her now." Barry said.

"Her offer was too good to refuse and I do agree with what she's doing. She told me that she's planning on establishing offices all around the country. Star City, Metropolis, Gotham, Calvintown and so many other places." Iris said and they all nodded as they continued talking, though Iris also had something else in mind that she wanted to talk to Cisco about later. But now was not the time for that. And she was preparing a backup plan in case Cisco said no, which he probably would considering what she was going to ask him for.
