Chapter Thirty Three
"Hey Kefi, wake up! Kefi!"
"Maybe she's dead."
"She's not dead. She's sleeping!"
Kefira opened her eyes slowly, as she attempted to wake up fully. When her eyes opened fully, she was confused when she saw Faye, Neville, Seamus and Dean standing around her.
She sat up and realized she was on one of the sofa's in the Gryffindor common room.
"What's going on?" she grumbled rubbing at her eyes.
"You tell us, why are you down here sleeping?" Seamus asked her.
"I don't know!" she answered. "I don't remember leaving the Potions classroom last night."
"How late were you there?" Neville questioned.
"Late. I'm not sure of the hour...I don't remember falling asleep either. I don't know how I ended up back here."
"Well what do you know?!" Seamus huffed.
"I know that you're annoying, get out of my face Seamus!" she said pushing him back by the forehead and standing up. Her arms were sore from all the work she had done the previous night and she was still tired, unsure of how many hours of sleep she had truly gotten.
Yawning she headed up to the girl's dorm to collect some fresh clothes for a much needed shower.
Neville waited for her patiently on the same sofa while the others headed to the Great Hall for breakfast. A little while later, Kefira returned, and he couldn't help but smile.
"What? Why are you looking at me like that?" she grinned.
"Your hair looks really different when it's wet." he said.
The curls were weighed down by dampness, not giving Kefira the full appearance of her wild mane.
"I know, it's horrible isn't it?"
"I wouldn't say horrible. Just different."
"I can try to get it to dry quicker by doing this!" she said shaking her head around like a dog trying to dry off. Neville laughed as drops of water fell of him.
When Kefira stopped, her hair wasn't much drier, but it was certainly back to it's crazy state.
"Let's go get some breakfast, shall we?"
"So what did Snape have you do for detention?" Neville asked her as they walked down the stairs.
She sighed. "He made me make another near impossible potion. I swear he's going to come up with harder and harder ones."
"Maybe that's a sign that you should stop getting detentions." Neville said.
"Well, it's not like I want detentions, but I'm certainly not going to let things like what happened yesterday go without saying something."
"You weren't involved in the fight really, I was and I didn't even get detention."
"That's a good thing Neville, you didn't deserve one. Draco did though. I swear the biased of blood purity around here is ridiculous and that's what keeps that nasty monster from getting the detention he deserves. It's not fair."
"You think Snape discriminates against you because you're a muggle-born?" Neville frowned.
"I don't know...I don't know what other reason he has against me."
"Well, you're a Gryffindor, remember?" Neville reminded her.
"But it goes beyond that, at least I think so."
As they walked on down one hall, Kefira caught sight of the Weasley twins who were leaning against one of the walls casually beside one another.
"Well, well, well, look who it is Georgie."
Kefira and Neville paused in front of them.
"Ah, it's our competition." George grinned.
"Competition?" Kefira repeated.
The twins lowered themselves to Kefira's eye level. "You've been trying to out do us in detentions?" Fred asked her.
She laughed. "Not purposely. Isn't it a good thing though, not getting detentions means you're not getting caught."
"Yes, that's true." George said.
"But.." Fred placed his arm around her shoulder, " George and I have the reputation around here as the troublemakers...and yet someone is becoming well known for her trouble."
"Not on purpose. I don't purposely seek getting myself in trouble. If anything trouble really does come looking for me."
The twins exchanged glances and smiled before looking down at her.
"You should join us sometime.." George offered.
"No thanks," Kefira said, "I get into trouble enough on my own but good luck to you two."
"We don't need luck!" Fred called after her, as she and Neville continued on.
They were about to enter the Great Hall when they caught sight of Draco about to enter.
"Of course." Kefira mumbled.
To her surprise, Neville stepped in front of her, but nothing was able to be said between them as Professor Snape stood in the doorway.
Draco cast the two a dirty look before entering the Great Hall. Professor Snape said nothing to them before leaving inside.
"Did that seem at all weird to you?" Kefira whispered to Neville.
The boy nodded, still holding a protective stance in front of her.
"Hey look! They have oranges out today! I love oranges!" Kefira said brushing passed him gently and running over to the Gryffindor table.
Neville smiled as he walked in and sat beside her as she began to peel the orange before her happily.
Suddenly, a squirt of orange juice got Neville in the eye, causing him to cry out.
"Sorry!"
"It's okay, it only...BURNS!"
