Chapter Eighty Nine

"Uh Neville...what are you doing?"

Kefira watched as the boy had pulled every single one of his pockets inside out in search of something.

"My list...I can't find my list!" Neville said pulling out the pockets of his robes once more.

"What list?" Kefira asked.

"The one with Sir Cadogan's password."

"Ugh Nevs, I told you not to write them down. I would give you the password if you need it."

"I know but I still had the list just in case."

"Well, where did you last have it on that you knew of?"

"Probably when we were outside earlier." Neville answered.

"You mean when I was feeding the dog?"

"Yeah."

"Sorry to say then Nevs, but that list is probably long gone. But don't worry about it. " Kefira reassured him. "We should probably get going though, or Professor McGonagall isn't going to be too pleased with us if we arrive late to her class...again."

"Right..you're right. Let's go."

Unfortunately, for poor Neville, it was no fault of his own that the list went missing. In fact, he hadn't been the one to drop it outside while visiting the dog. It wasn't even a person who had stumbled upon the list first either. Instead it was Crookshanks, Hermione's cat ,who had snatched the list up to bring it to a friend in need.

"Okay, okay, I know I've been complaining when it comes to turning objects into animals, " Seamus said after their transfiguration class let out, " but turning objects into dragons, that's what I've been wanting to learn about! I've been waiting for this moment."

Professor McGonagall had spent the class duration going over the Draconifors spell that allowed the caster to turn a small object into a dragon and have control of the dragon.

"Of course you would like the lesson Seamus," Kefira said walking in between him and Neville. "It involves fire, your specialty."

Seamus gave her a look. "Be careful Walsh, I'll end up turning my quill into a dragon and have it go after you."

"Pfft, yeah right." Kefira scoffed at him. "That's if you didn't make your quill explode in the process."

Dean laughed to himself until Seamus elbowed him. Kefira turned to Neville with an amused grin but he only flashed her a small smile. Instead of continuing on with the group, Kefira stopped and held onto Neville's arm to get him to stop as well.

"What are you guys doing?" Faye asked as she came to a halt with Dean and Seamus down the hall.

"We'll catch up!" Kefira told them. "You go on."

She turned her attention back to Neville after the three moved on. He seemed pale and still looked nervous.

"What's wrong Neville? You're still not worked up about that list thing are you?"

Neville bit his lower lip in response.

"Oh Nevs, you get so worked up on the small things in life. You'll miss out on so much if you worry over such silly things."

"I know, but I got a real bad feeling in my stomach about it. What if one of the other students find it? Get into the Gryffindor tower and cause trouble?"

"I don't think they would be stupid enough to do that... at least I would hope no one would be stupid enough to do such a thing. Also I think Sir Cadogan recognizes most Gryffindors, he's been in charge of the entrance for awhile now."

"You're right, I know you're right."

"So quit worrying about it, and come on I reckon Seamus is probably going to try the Draconifors spell out in the Great Hall and you know how well that normally turns out."

"I suppose we can expect a great deal of fire."

"Without the dragon present." Kefira laughed.

Later on that evening, Kefira was sound asleep in her bed after falling asleep playing Rock, Paper, Scissors with the girls in the dorm. It was funny how the majority of them didn't know the game except Hermione as it was only considered a muggle game.

Beneath her covers she enjoyed a peaceful slumber until the entire was woken with shouts and commotion coming from the boys dorm.

Prefects and the Head boy and girl  of the house alerted everyone and had them come down to the Common Room as fast as they could. Kefira pushed herself out of bed, her tousled curls piled over in her face as she was unable to restrain them. She nearly stumbled down the stairs before Lavender grabbed her by the back of her pajama shirt to straighten her as they reached the common room.

"What's going on?" she yawned.

It was especially weird to find Professor McGonagall in the common room so late at night, so it was obvious something bad must have happened.

Kefira was right, something bad did happen.

Sirius Black had made his way inside the Gryffindor Tower.
