Julie's POV

"Nana Joan!" I squealed jumping into her opened arms, I noticed Mam's face break into a huge beam at the name I chose to call Joan

"Hiya Pet, how's me favorite girl?" she asked giving me a kiss on the forehead before releasing me from her hug

"Good! Hello Uncle Garry" I said giving him a quick hug

"Why don't we sit in the front room" Mum said leading the way

"Come here pet I got ya's something" she said digging into her bag

"Socks?" I asked with a confused look taking the socks tied in a bow

"What do you say Julie" Mam said trying to hide her smirk

"Erm.. Thanks Nana" I said giving her a hug, biting down my lip trying to keep my laugh under control

"Aye no problems" she said smiling happily, I don't care if she got me a fcking hair tie seeing her smile like that was enough for me

"Cheryl it's your brother Andrews little boys birthday party this week, I expect you lot to go" Joan said to Mam

"Mam..." Mam sighed

"Cheryl." Joan said sternly

"I said I expect you lot to be there" Nana repeated herself with more authority in her voice

"Aye okay Mam" Mam said looking at Mum with a knowing look. I guess I was in the dark with what's happening right now. Why wouldn't Mam want to go to her nephews birthday party?

"Let's get some food in you lot" Mum said getting up and heading into the kitchen with Mam following her close behind muttering something under her breath that I didn't pick up on

"So Jules how have you been?" Nana asked me while Garry did his thing making himself comfortable on the opposite sofa watching the telly

Cheryl's POV

"I'm not going!" I said in a angry hushed tone to Kim as she began to cut up vegetables

"Chez we're not discussing this right now while they're here" Kim said shaking her head

"He doesn't even want us there! you know how he is! He blamed us for the way he became! Like fck I'm going up there" I said slamming the cupboard making her jump

"He fcking started sh!t talking about us when we came out! Calling us a filthy dyke!" Kim just sighed

"Cheryl, he's your brother at the end of the day" she said going over to the fridge grabbing the raw meats

"I don't fcking care if he was me dad" I huffed

"Grow up Cheryl! We don't have time for this sh!t. We are going and that is that" she said walking out of the kitchen. I just groaned loudly stomping me foot on the ground and following her out

Julie's POV

We sat in the back garden enjoying the grilled chicken sandwiches Mum made. Mam doesn't look to happy she hasn't said a word since she sat down. It's been me, Nana Joan, and Uncle Garry doing most of the talking

"So how many cousins do I have then?" I asked full of interest

"Too many to count pet" Nana Joan laughed

"That many then?" I asked getting excited

"Aye! you'll meet them Saturday" she said taking a bite out of her sandwich. I heard Mam scuff at the mention of us going getting a glare from Mum

"I'm really excited to meet them" I said taking a sip of my soda

"Don't put your expectations too high Bubba" Mam said getting a loud sigh from Nana

"Cheryl. Enough!" she said loudly, it was the first time I heard Nana's tone this loud

"I just don't want her to go and be disappointed!" Mam snapped back. They went back and forth and no one at the table said anything letting them go at it

"OKAY!" I shouted making them stop their banter

"God forget it! I don't even want to go anymore" I snapped leaving the garden table and walking off into the endless back garden.

Kim's POV

"You guys need to stop this right now. Look what you've done, I'm going after Julie" I sighed getting up Chez stood up with me

"No, stay here" I told her getting a frown in return. I walked off to the garden in search of Julie. I found her sitting on the bench throwing rocks into the little pond

"Hey" I said in a gentle tone afraid I'd startle her

"Why does Mam not want to go?" she asked straight away

"Sweetheart things are just complicated" I sighed and she slid closer to me resting her head against my shoulder making me smile to myself

"Do they not want to meet me? is that why?" she asked sadly

"No of course not! It's just your Mam doesn't get along that well with her brother Andrew" I said trying to explain, how do you explain to a 16 year old that her Mam can't stand her brother and all they do is fight? All Andrew is good at is selling stories about his sister that are all a bunch of lies. If I'm being honest with myself I don't want to go either, but we have to. For Julie's sake.

"She doesn't have to talk to him when we're there?" she suggest thoughtfully and I couldn't help but hold her tight against me kissing her head a few times. So innocent.

"It doesn't work like that Angel, but I'll make sure she's on her best behavior when we're there" I said stroking her hair making her close her eyes with a content smile spread across her face

"She better"

Julie's POV

"The whole fcking lot is here" Mam groaned loudly as we finally arrived that Saturday to a unfamiliar home, it wasn't Nana's house so I'm guessing it's Uncle Andrew's house. Mum put the car in park and turned to look at Mam

"Now. We are here for a Che's birthday party, which means. DRAMA FREE" She said making sure 'drama free' was clear to Mam

"I know" she said like a school girl that just got told off. We all stepped out of the car and Mam turned around fixing my white dress making sure I didn't have any creases and taking my hand in hers as she laced her fingers through Mums as well making our way to the front door. I held the overly large present bag that Mam had put together, she said I should give it to Che since I'm around his age. Mum knocked on the door and waited for an answer, seconds later a woman that looks to be around her 30's answered the door with a full smile on her face

"Gillian!" Mam squealed happily letting go of both Mum and my hand engulfing the stranger in a long hug

"Is that her?" I'm guessing Gillian was her name said as soon as my eyes locked with hers

"Aye! Julie this is me sister Gillian" Mam introduced us

"Hi" I smiled shyly standing beside Mum

"She's a mini you Chezza! Come in, Come in" she said moving aside letting us all in. All eyes were on us as soon as we stepped in, I'm guessing the party hasn't started yet because they were still dishing the food and the men were kind of lingering around pretending to be some sort of help

"Hey sis!" A man came over giving Mam a hug, is that uncle Andrew or-

"Joey! Come meet me daughter" okay so that's uncle Joey?

"Hey there pet! I'm your uncle Joseph, but you can call us Uncle Joey" he said giving me a warm smile

"Nice to meet you..." I said looking around

"Why don't you guys come sit in the front room until they're done setting up outside" he said guiding us to the front room. A teenage boy walked in I'm guessing that was Che

"Hi Aunt Cheryl, Kim" he said nodding their way, not even coming over and shaking their hands or even a hug

"Erm are you Che?" I asked wanting to get rid of this ridiculous bag

"Yeah" he said smiling at me

"This is for you" I said walking over to him and handing him his present

"Thanks.. who are you?" he asked confused

"I'm Julie" I said shyly

"Are you from me school?" he asked

"No I'm-" he cut me off

"Then why are you here?" he asked rudely taking me by surprise

"Che don't talk to me daughter like that" Mam said in a stern tone. I went over and sat beside Mum and Mam

"How am I supposed to know you have a daughter? we haven't seen you in years" he shot back before leaving the front room

"He seems... nice" I said making Mam and Mum laugh. A blond woman walked in and was surprised to see us sat on the sofa, she came over awkwardly shaking our hands

"Whose this then?" she asked in the least bit of interest

"This is our daughter Julie" Mam said to the woman

"Our?" the woman raised her eyebrow

"Yes Emma. Kimberley and me daughter" Mam said getting annoyed

"So is she some foster kid you guys took in?" she asked with a grin on her face. Mum was first to speak up

"No she is our daughter. I think you should go see yourself to something else" I could hear it in Mum's tone how hard she was trying to keep her temper together

"What the fck is up with this family?" I whispered in mums ear getting a look I couldn't quite read, she was pissed, wanted to laugh, and get the hell out of here all at once

"Let's go outside" Mam said pulling us off our seat and in through the kitchen and out the back where the men were setting up the tents as the women put the food on the picnic tables. I have yet to meet my granddad and Andrew, I'm guessing my cousins have yet to arrive as well

"Cheryl?" an elderly man came over

"Hey dad" She said giving him a hug, he had a warm smile. He even had them dimples just like Mam

"Hello Kim" he said giving Mum a hug as well

"And whose this little one?" he said smiling at me

"This is me daughter, Julie" Mam said wrapping her arm around my shoulder protectively

"Nice to meet you pet, I'm your granddad. You can call us Garry" he said

"Oh you have the same name as Uncle Garry" I said taking him by surprise

"You've met our Garry?" he asked looking at Mam

"Yeah, and Nana Joan" I replied

"Nana Joan aye?" he asked with a chuckle

"Come on pet let us introduce you to me lot" he said out stretching his hand for me to take. I looked at Mam if it was okay and she just nodded. I instantly took his hand as I let him take me which ever way he pleased

"How old are you then?" he asked as we walked through the back garden

"16"

"Aye you're a year older than our Che" he said taking me to a man with a buzz cut and some arm tattoos

"Julie, this is your Uncle Andrew" he introduced us

"Hi" I said nervously not liking the way he's staring at me

"Whose this one then?" he asked rudely, I turned around looking for Mam and Mum finding them staring right back at me

"This is our Cheryl's daughter" Granddad said

"Didn't she give her up all them years ago?" he said making my insides shatter. He turned back around to fixing the white tent

"I-I'm just going to go back to Mam" I said releasing my hand from granddads and going back to my parents. I walked straight into Mams arms burying my face into her neck sniffing quietly trying to control the tears that are ready to be released

"What's wrong Bubba? what's he tell you?" she said taking my face in her hands

"N-nothing I'm just being silly" I sniffed again, she pulled me tightly against her rubbing my back for comfort

"Don't listen to that fcking twat" Mam said

"Cheryl" Mum said in a tone that said 'stop it'

"Come here Jules" Mum said pulling me into her arms giving me her heart melting hugs, I instantly felt better as she put her arms around me

"I don't like it here" I told them, as I rested my head against Mums chest

"Makes two of us" Mam said folding her arms across her chest

"Joan should be coming in a little, it'll get better sweetheart, and your cousins still have yet to arrive" Mum said looking on the bright side

Julie's POV

"Julie pet! come sit here next to us" Nana Joan said calling me over from sitting by myself watching the kids play about. I went over and sat beside her as everyone watched my every move

"This is me favorite granddaughter" She said proudly pulling me into her

"What's wrong with your other grand kids?" Emma asked and I have come to find out she's Uncle Andrews wife and Che's Mum. Says a lot

"Nothing wrong with them lot, but Julie here is me favorite" Nana said giving me a kiss on the cheek. I looked over at Mam seeing a smug look plastered across her face. Pride? I think so.

"Why aren't you playing with the rest of the kids?" Aunt Gillian asked me. I wasn't going to tell her they didn't want me to. What was I supposed to say then?

"Doesn't look fun" I lied

"I'm eager to know how a bouncy castle doesn't look fun" she laughed lightly

"Come here Bubba let's go on it" Mam said, and I think she sensed I really wanted to go on but non of the kids wanted to play with me. Always the one outed

"No it's okay Mam" I said getting uncomfortable at everyone's stare

"Come on sweetheart" Mum said getting up and Mam joining her as they pulled at my arm to get me up

"Don't listen to them kids" Mam said to me as we walked over to the bouncy castle that was filled with happy cheerful kids

"Everyone move out the way!! Julie's coming on!" Mam shouted making me laugh, pushing the kids out of the way as we climbed into the castle bouncing away

"Bubba try this!" Mam said doing a front flip

"Go on!" she said jumping up and down along with Mum

"My underwear will show" I said making her laugh

"Oh go on no ones looking" she beamed, and I did, I tried but failed miserably falling flat on my face with my backside full on display as my dress flew up with my landing

"ASS!" Some teenager yelled getting all his mates to look my way. I quickly sat up pulling my dress down

"Hey! Watch it!" Mum hissed at them

"Cheryl! Kimberley! can you come here for a second!" Aunt Gillian called them from outside the castle

"Aye coming! Will be right back Bubba" Mam said kissing my forehead as they left me alone in the bouncy castle alone with the hyper active teenagers. This was a bad idea.

"So.." A group of boys bounced over to my way

"So?" I said

"You're Cheryl Coles daughter then?" One asked

"Yeah?"

"Che!" one yelled out, they all stopped bouncing moving out the way for Che

"Why are you in this bouncy castle?" he said shoving me back making me land on the net

"Don't touch me!" I said trying to straighten up

"You're on our territory! Miss Posh" He shoved me again send me to the floor

"Get her boys!"

Cheryl's POV

"I don't understand why you needed our help" I huffed helping her bring out the last lot of the presents

"I couldn't bring then all out" Gillian laughed

"Me hands are killin' us, you ow-"

"MAM!!!!!" I heard Julie scream from inside the castle making Kim and I drop everything in our hands and run to where the screams were coming from

"Those fcking kids better not have touched her!" I snapped as I moved kids out of the way climbing in the castle seeing Julie on the ground covering her face as Che swung his fist at her

"WHAT THE FCK ARE YOU DOING!?" I said grabbing him and throwing him off her

"Did your fcking dad not teach you how to respect women!?" Kimba hissed at him. I took a crying Julie into me arms

Julie's POV

"I curled up into Mam's arms as they began to yell at Che and his gang

"She started it!" He shouted pointing at me

"Like fck she did!" Mam yelled picking me up and helping me out of the castle

"I didn't start anything!" I hiccuped trying to stop myself from crying

"You called me dad a drug addict!!" he shouted getting everyone's attention and taking me by surprise

"You fcking going around talking sh!t about us Cheryl!? To your fcking daughter too?" Uncle Andrew shouted at Mam

"I didn't say that!!" I shouted at him before Mam could say anything

"Me son won't fcking make sh!t up like that!" he said jabbing me in the shoulder with his finger

"Don't fcking touch her" Mam hissed standing in front of me

"I wouldn't lie! right boys?" Che said to his friends getting them all to nod their heads in approval. The crowd grew bigger coming around to see what all the shouting was about

"Come here Pet" Nana Joan said taking my hand and pulling me into her

"Now you boys no not to be messing with girls and makin' up them lies" Nana Joan told them off

"Mam me boy wouldn't make something up like this" Uncle Andrew defended his son

"Julie doesn't know nothin' about this family, so I believe when I hear her say she didn't say them words" She said sticking up for me

"Everyone move out the way! Andrew and Che inside. Kimberley, Chezza come on" Nana said taking my hand and leading me inside shutting the door loudly when everyone was sat on the sofa. She left the front room leaving all of us to look at each other ready to bite each other's head off

"Here pet put this on your cheek" she said handing me a bag of ice

"If her fcking face gets bruised god help you's!" Mam said through her teeth as she pulled me into her placing my head on her shoulder resting the ice pack on my cheek

"It's just a scratch! She is too spoiled for her own good" Che said

"I'm not fcking spoiled!" I snapped back

"Shut up with you and your posh self!" He said dismissively

"That's it!!!!" I said throwing the ice pack on the floor and launching my self at him swinging my fists left and right making sure to get a good punch across his cheek to match mine

"Stop it!" Mum said dragging me off him and pulling me onto her lap locking me in with her hands tightly around me

"Enough!" Nana screamed

"What has gotten into you lot! I know you and Andrew are feuding but what's the deal with Che and Julie?" Nana demanded

"He started it!"

"She started it!"

"I didn't start anything you stupid prick!" I snapped

"What happened? Julie you go first" Nana said

"Mam and Mum were with me in the bouncy castle and then they had to leave because Aunt Gillian needed them with something. Then one of his mates came up to me asking if I was Cheryl Coles daughter, and then they called over Che and he pushed me. I didn't say anything! he said I wasn't allowed on and to get off their territory and that's when he hit me" I said catching my breath

"Che?" Nana asked

"I don't have to say anything." She said folding his arms across his chest

"Exactly" I said sitting still in Mums lap

"Don't you know you shouldn't be going around hitting girls?" Uncle Andrew said smacking him on the back of his head

"And why are you bullying her anyways?" he questioned him

"Because she's a brat!" he said shooting me a look

"I didn't even fcking talk to you! Mam please I want to leave" I said letting my tears slip

"Okay come on, we're leaving" Mam said helping me up

"I'm never coming here again!" I cried as Mam went to grab both Mum and her purse before retreating to the front room

"Sorry about that Julie" Uncle Andrew said apologetically

"No. Don't talk to me, and don't touch me" I said shrugging off his arm off my shoulder and hiding into the side of Mam

"Come on" Mum said pulling us both outside and helping me get into the car

"We'll need to stay at a hotel for the night" Mum said starting the car and driving off onto the road in search of a descent hotel
