Part 67

Julie's POV

"I don't know Lib I think I hurt her feelings" I said down the phone. I didn't go to the auditions, I stayed in Mams dressing room instead

"What did you say exactly?" she asked

"I kinda said that Simon would be a good mentor to have in my life" I cringed just by repeating the words

"Why would you say that? you know how your mum is" Libby sighed

"Are you frustrated with me?" I asked biting my lip

"I'm a little disappointed in you" she said truthfully

"Why would you say something like that!" she said again raising her tone with me

"I'm sorry" I whispered kicking myself mentally for hurting mam like that

"You need to speak to her once auditions are over" she advised me

"What if she doesn't want to talk to me?" I asked her

"She will. She loves you"

"Are you still mad?" I asked sadly

"I'm not mad I was never mad, I was just disappointed in your choice of words.. god damn it Julie you know how much your mum does for you and you go do something daft like that... over what? a job opportunity" she told me off

"But it was a good job opportunity he w-"

"Are you really justifying your rude comment to your Mum over a stupid job Julie! I'm trying my best to keep my temper together right now but you're doing a damn good job of pissing me off" she snapped making me slump down on the sofa feeling like a school girl being told off by her principal for doing something naughty

"Okay I'm sorry" I whispered

"Now. I'm going to let you go, I want you to go and apologize and make things right with your mum.. I'm sorry I yelled at you, I just care. I love you juggleboo" she said in a cute voice

"Okay you got it. I love you too Libaboo" I said making her giggle

"Go on you loon"

"Bye baby" I said ending the call and letting out a long sigh. My phone vibrated with a new incoming text

Mam: Why aren't you in your seat behind us?

Me: I'm still in the dressing room

Mam: Why?

I didn't reply to her message I couldn't tell her that I was upset with myself for saying something like that to her.. she's my Mam of course she is the most amazing mentor a girl can have, I just thought she knew that. I laid back on the sofa propping my head on the arm letting my hair fall past the side trying my best not to ruin my hair

Mam: we've got a break, come to the break room

She messaged me an hour later, I got up smoothing down any wrinkles I had on my outfit before heading to the break room. Everyone was occupied putting food in their plates and staff running around Mam and the rest of the judges that nobody really noticed me walking in. So I went over and sat on the abandoned sofa in the corner, I busied myself with my phone texting Libby

Me: Baby I'm in the break room.. Nobody really noticed me come in. I'll speak to Mam when she has a minute xx

Libby<3: Okay babe, everything is going to be fine. love you xx

She reassured me, I could always count on Libby to make me feel better about the whole situation. she always tells me off when I've done something wrong and I loved that about her because she always tells me the truth even when it's hard to listen to it

"Hey Kiddo, what you doing sitting here alone?" Simon said sitting beside me

"Just taking a minute to myself" I said locking my phone and putting it to the side

"Didn't see you out there earlier" he said concerned

"Yeah just wasn't feeling it" I lied

"Your Mum didn't seem so happy out there either, did you guys argue?" he asked relaxing in his seat

"No.. it was just the whole job thing" I said getting a little comfortable around him

"Maybe I should have spoken to you privately?" he suggested

"Yeah maybe that would have been a better idea" I said with a smirk

"We can talk now if you'd like" he offered

"Maybe we can talk over coffee or something because the setting isn't all that appropriate for business talk" I said making him smile widely

"See you're more mature than you let on" he chuckled

"Watch out I might fool you with my charm and take over your businesses" I said matching his smile

"That's ambitious" he chuckled shaking his head

"What are you two talking about?" Mam said coming over to us

"How Julie here is going to take over my empire" he laughed before getting up and walking over to a group of people

"You're both still on about that?" Mam sighed

"Mam can we go somewhere more private?" I asked looking around at the crowded room filled with strangers

"Come on" she said getting up and holding out her hand for me to take. I took it with out hesitation letting her lead us back to her dressing room

"Are you going to tell us what's up then?" she said taking a seat on the leather sofa

"I'm sorry" I started off, she didn't interrupt me and I was glad

"I look up to you Mam I really do, but I look up to you differently than the way I said earlier about Simon. You didn't give me a chance to explain" I said needing her to understand

"Go on, explain" she said

"I look up to Simon business wise, he is a smart and intelligent man. He knows something good when he sees it, he has the eye for success. You Mam, that's a whole different meaning to a mentor, who is nurturing, caring, loving, and so on! I want to be just like you when I grow up. I want to be a successfully driven woman, who doesn't give a rats ass what anyone thinks of her. I want to have the love and passion you give off, I hope to one day be as successful as you. I need you to understand that when I look at you I see myself, I see myself being just like you in the future.. you're a strong independent woman and I want nothing more than to be just like you. I'm sorry if I ever gave off the impression that I don't appreciate what you have done for me, because I appreciate it all.. every single bit of it" I said finally shutting up and waiting for Mam to say something, anything. She had a sad look on her face, like any second now she would burst into tears

"Come here" she whispered eventually taking my hand and pulling me onto her lap

"I love you so much, I want nothing more than to be a role model for you to look up to. I'm sorry I didn't wait and listen to you earlier, you don't know what it's like hearing someone you care more than your life for say someone else is an amazing mentor.. Yeah I know Julie, I know that you didn't mean it that way. I know now, and I'm sorry too baby" she said kissing my forehead

"I love you too Mam" I said wrapping my arms around her shoulder as hers snaked around my waist pulling me closer to her
