Julie's POV

Mam's birthday was approaching it was going to be next week and I wanted to plan something out for her. I had never celebrated Mam's birthday before and so I wanted this year to be special, I wanted her to know how much I appreciate everything she has done for me

"What about if you buy her a nice purse?" Libby suggested as she painted my toenails

"A purse? really? she has enough bags to open up her own shop"

"What about... Agh I don't know what do you get someone who has everything?" Libby huffed closing the cap for the nail polish

"I have to make it special" I said determinedly

"We still have time to come up with something" Libby said

"Yeah.. Hey you want to go for a swim?" I asked going over to the window and looking at the scorching summer sun coming down

"I don't have a bathing suit" she said coming and standing beside me

"I have plenty, come on" I said taking her hand and leading her to my wardrobe room

"You weren't kidding" she said rummaging for one she liked

"I'm just going to go put this on" I said taking the bikini and going into the ensuite

"Lib can you tie this for me?" I said holding the top to my chest while walking over to her. I turned around as she began to tie the strings together

"You're so tan" she said, her breath hitting against my skin making me shiver

"Are you cold?" she asked again but closer to my neck this time

"Don't do that" I giggled pulling away from her

"What?" she asked with a confused look spread across her face

"You were breathing down my neck, it tickled" I said tying my hair up

"Sorry" she shrugged and turned around for me to tie her bikini as well. I thought I'd be annoying and blow air down her neck

"Okay I did not do that" she giggled jumping away from me

"Well that's how it felt, now come on" I took her hand and sprinted out of my room and down to the kitchen

"Are you always hungry?" Libby said as I grabbed a basket putting crisps, drinks, and chocolates in it to take outside with us

"So you're saying you don't want?" I asked leaning against the kitchen counter with the basket in hand

"Course I want.. wouldn't want you getting fat on your own" she said taking a crisp bag out of the basket and running out of the kitchen

"Cheeky sh!t!" I said running after her

Julie's POV

"Watch this!" I said standing on the diving-board. I put my hands up in the air jumping up and down a few times to get some air, as I got high enough I did a front flip doing a swan dive into the cool water, I swam to where Libby had been floating and popped my head up

"Boo!" I said tickling her sides

"That was blood brilliant! can you do it again so I can get it on tape!?" she asked hopeful

"Sure" I said swimming back over to the diving board. I waited until Libby climbed out of the pool, and pulled out her phone giving me the thumbs up. I did the dive once more and came up to an applause from Mam, Mum, and Libby

"10 out of 10" Both mam and mum said at the same time. Libby ran and jumped into the pool splashing water everywhere

"You get a 2 out of 10 for that Olivia! you got us all wet" Mam shouted, Libby and I looked at each other and laughed, Mam walked over to me and squatted down as I folded my hands against the edge of the pool, giving me a peck on the lips followed by Mum

"Is this what you guys have been doing all day?" Mam asked as she sat beside Mum on the sun lounger

"Pretty much" I said leaning against the wall, Libby swam and leaned beside me

"Do you guys want to go grab some dinner?" Mum asked and I looked at Libby she nodded yeah

"Yeah we just need to change" I said swimming out of the pool followed by Libby

"Jules do you mind if I borrow something" Libby asked shyly

"Lib you don't need to ask" I said going into my wardrobe with our towels wrapped around us

"Pick what ever you want" I added grabbing a dress for me to wear

"Do you need some underwear?" I asked going over to my undergarment drawer

"Yes please" she replied I threw her a pair of knickers before heading to the ensuite letting her change privately in my wardrobe room. After putting on my mid-thigh length summer dress I went back into the closet

"Oh sorry" I said covering my eyes as I walked in on her pulling her bra on, before I covered them it was then that I noticed a scar on her right shoulder I had never noticed until now

"Lib?" I whispered putting my hands down. She didn't turn around and I think she knew my sudden change of tone

"Y-yeah" she said turning around slowly. I approached her cautiously not wanting to startle her, I turned her back around when I was in her space pulling her hair to rest on her left shoulder

"What happened there?" I asked running my finger over the scar sending goosebumps through-out her body

"I-It was a long time ago.." she said pausing before continuing

"My d-dad stabbed me when I was 11 years old" she said taking a deep breath as I placed feather light kisses over the scaring

"This scar made you so much stronger and beautiful more than you already are" I said as she turned around to face me with watery eyes waiting to spill

"I guess that makes both of us" she said placing her hand over my broken heart. I got lost in her eyes I couldn't look away, it was like a force. I could see her leaning in, I felt myself doing the same my eyes closing slowly

"JULIE! HURRY YOUR ARSE UP IM STARVING!" Mam shouted from outside of my room making us spring apart

"I better help you put this dress on" I said quickly grabbing the dress she chose

"Yeah wouldn't want your mum to bite our heads off" she laughed awkwardly
