Julie POV

"So other than the little problem, how was school today?" Kim asked me as we all walked into the front room and made ourselves comfortable on the sofa

"It was good.. My um art professor wants me to enter a piece of my work into the Art Fair" I said blushing never before talk about the fact I can draw or anything artistic like that before

"Why are you blushing pet? you're really good" Cheryl said and I gave her a confused look

"How did you know I was good? I've never shared my work with anyone before" I asked

"We went and checked on you one night and you had the sketchpad laid beside you, you're really amazing" Kimberley said

"Oh.. okay well I better get started on my homework" I said getting up and heading into the kitchen grabbing a snack and going up to my bedroom

Cheryl's POV

"She hates us" I said

"What are you on about?" Kimba asked

"She told us she was fine and when she saw you she cried into your arms.. I don't know what I'm doin' wrong" I said tearfully and Kim instantly pulled us into her arms

"You're not doing anything wrong, she probably needs time to warm up to you is all" Kim said trying to comfort us

"I hope that's the reason" I sniffed

"I don't like seeing you like this" Kim said kissing me forehead, I snuggled further into her loving the contact of her body close to mine. Me phone started ringing and I untangled meself from Kimba and checked who was calling. The caller ID read mam

"Hello?" I answered

"Hey pet how are you's" me mom replied

"Aye I'm good mam how are you?" I asked

"I'm good, just wanted to speak to our Julie" mam said and I laughed

"Of course you did" I said getting up and heading up the stairs to Julie's room. I heard some singing coming from The other side of the bedroom, she has a really amazing voice.. I got lost in her voice and was brought out of my thoughts when I heard me mam shouting down the phone

"Pet!! You still there!?" She said

"Aye sorry mam one second" I said knocking on Julie's door, Julie opened the door seconds later

"Yeah?" she asked

"Me mam wants to speak to you" her face instantly lit up and she took the phone from me hand

"Hello?" she said excitedly

"I'm good!... Yeah Cheryl's been good! Kimberley is amazing you should see how funny she is Joan! yeah and her cooking is amazing, she taught me how to do my hair and .... yeah.. haha.. I know" I was a little upset that she wasn't excited about talking about us. The way she spoke about our Kimberley was like no one else mattered... I walked back down the stairs and went and sat by Kimberley once again.

"You okay?" Kimberley asked almost automatically sensing I was upset

"It's stupid" I said

"Nothing you say is stupid, what is it? I can tell you're upset" she said stroking my cheek

"How do you do it?" I asked

"Do what?" she asked confused

"Get Julie to like you so much" I said looking down at our entwined fingers

"I think she looks at you as a friend, and I treat her the way a mother would. just give her a bit more attention babe" she said and I nodded in agreement

"I really don't give her all that much attention do I?" I asked

"No you do, but just show her you care. Do something special for her" she said and an idea came to mind

"That's a good idea" I said giving Kim a kiss

"When do the results come in?" she asked minutes later as we snuggled together

"In 2 days" I said nervously

"I have a feeling it's going to be good" Kimberley said

"Us too babe" I smiled at her

"Yeah... Yeah, Love you too Joan! See you soon" Julie said coming through the front room and ending the call

"You guys have been on the phone for that long?" I asked

"Yeah.. why?" she asked with her eyebrows furrowed

"Me mam doesn't even speak to us on the phone for no longer than a minute" I said making her laugh

"She's the best she was just checking up on me is all" she said handing me back me phone

"Hey you know I just thought of something, you don't have a phone pet!" I said

"I don't really need one" she said sitting on the arm chair

"Yeah you do, I'll get you one this week" I said and she just shrugged her shoulders not letting it faze her

"Did you finish your homework?" Kim asked

"No I'll finish it in a bit" she replied

"Go finish it now so you won't need to later" Kim said and I just watched them interact with each other

"Agh it's only like 5 problems anyways" she argued

"Don't argue, if it's only 5 problems then go finish them and come back down and sit with us" she said and Julie huffed and stood up

"Fine" she said walking away

"Little less of the attitude missy" Kim said, and Julie poked her tongue out at her and disappeared up the steps

"Teenagers" Kimba muttered

"You're going to make an amazing mam" I said wrapping me arms around her waist

"We're going to make amazing parents" she said making us smile

"You really want a family with us?" I asked

"I want everything with you" she said kissing me forehead, then me nose, and landed her lips against me lips lastly

Julie's POV

"So I was thinking of drawing this sketch of my foster mum, but I want to keep it a surprise until the day of the reveal" I said to my art professor

"I think that would be a wonderful idea" he said

"But can I work on it in the art lab because I don't want to do it at home" I explained

"Yeah of course I'll get you a canvas what size canvas were you thinking of?" he asked

"Big" I said making him laugh

"I think I have big" he said going over to the cupboard and getting a big canvas

"Will this do?" he asked and I nodded my head eagerly

"You can go over into the private lab and work on it as long as you need to. Don't be shy to come ask for help or even if you just want some tips or advice, I'll be in this room" he said

"Thank you professor" I said walking into the private room and setting up the canvas up. I started on my sketch, my art professor pulled me out of my last class so I would have time to work on the project and I was grateful for that because I didn't want to go to my math class to see stalker boy and his little group. I turned in my math work and came straight here. I didn't realize how long I was working on the project but it must have been hours. I was doing little streak lines making the picture look like a black and white photograph. I check my watch and I was past the school bell by an hour I quickly covered my work and grabbed my backpack and ran out of the class and I shouted over my shoulder

"Bye professor see you tomorrow!!" I said and sprinted out of the school. I saw Cheryl's car parked off to the side I quickly ran to the car

"Oh sorry" I said accidentally bumping into someone knocking over his things. I bent down and helped him. our eyes met, his eyes were a beautiful arctic blue mesmerizing meeting my hazel colored eyes and we just smiled at each other

"S-sorry" I said standing up and handing him his book

"No worries" he smiled

"I better go" I said walking away

"What's your name?" he shouted making me turn around

"Julie.. yours?" I asked biting my lower lip

"Jake" he said

"See you around" he added and I turned around and climbed into the car

"Ooo who was that?" Cheryl teased as she started up the car

"His name is Jake.. I don't really know him" I shrugged leaning over and flipping through the radio channels and finding the song that satisfied me

"Sorry I was late I didn't realize what the time was" I explained myself with my lateness

"It's okay pet I got some phone calls done while waiting for you. That reminds us we need to get you a phone" She said changing her route

"You don't have to" I said

"I know but I want to" she said running the palm of her hand over my hair. She drove to a cellphone shop and parked her car, we both headed in together

"Hey Jeffrey I want to buy a phone" she said to the worker

"Get us one just like mine" she said

"Do you like black or white?" she turned to me asking

"Umm.. white" I said

"Okay get us a white one" and he went to the back and brought the white iPhone that was sealed in a box. He explained what my number was and if I had any problems with it to come to him. Cheryl signed some contracts and paid for the phone and we headed out

"You can open it pet" she said gesturing to the box in my lap as we drove home

"I'll just wait until we get home" I said

"Don't be so excited" she said looking at my lack of enthusiasm

"I-I just.. I don't know how to respond.. no ones ever bought me something like this before" I said with a hint of embarrassment

"Get used to it, because you're going to be getting a lot of stuff from us" she said smiling

"Thank you" I said

"No worries pet" she said leaning over quickly and giving me a kiss on the forehead. We arrived home and walked into the house to find Kim in the kitchen

"Hey babe! how was your day" Kim asked me opening her arms for me to walk into them. I placed the box on the table and hugged her

"Good" I said simply

"Any troubles?" she asked looking at me closely. I think she was looking for any bruising and I just smiled at how sweet she was

"No I skipped my math period--" and before I could finish she snapped

"Skipped your math class!!?! I don't allow wagging in my house" Kim yelled

"Will you let me finish" I said a bit annoyed. I went and stood by Cheryl not liking the way she was screaming at me

"You better have a good explanation" she crossed her arms across her chest

"My art professor pulled me out of class" I said

"And why would he do that?" she asked calming down a little

"Because he wanted me to work on my art project for the art fair" I said back from across the room folding my arms across my chest as well

"I thought you said you were going to work on it from home?" she asked

"I want to leave it as a surprise" I said looking down at the floor

"Sorry" she said coming over to me about to give me a hug but I backed up a little not wanting contact from her. I saw a flash of hurt cover her face, but I was afraid of what she was going to do. I got scared from her screaming my heart rate speed reminded me of my past

"It's okay.. I um I'm just going to do my work." I grabbed the iPhone box and went up to my room. I went over to my desk and pulled out the phone from the box turning it on.. now why would I even need a phone? it's not like I know anyone. I heard a faint knock on the door

"Come in" I said and Cheryl came walking in

"You okay?" she asked sitting on the desk

"Yeah" I said unconvincingly

"Now the truth" she said

"She just scared me a little... I-I thought she was going to hit me" I said looking at my fingers that were placed in my lap. Cheryl placed her finger under my chin and lifted my head so I could look at her

"Kimberley would never hit you pet! She loves you" Cheryl said sweetly

"I know, I don't know.. force of habit I guess" I said with a laugh even though nothing was remotely funny about this situation

"Just so you know we would never hurt you" she said

"Sorry" I said standing up from my seat

"It's okay, come here" she said standing up as well and opening her arms and gave me a heartwarming hug

"I think I should apologize to Kim" I mumbled against her shoulder

"You don't have to do anything you don't want to, Kim understands" she said

"I know but I want to" I said breaking away from the embrace and walked downstairs into the kitchen to find Kim sat at the kitchen bar with her head in her hands. I went over to her and hugged her taking her by surprise

"I'm sorry" I said as she hugged me back

"No I'm sorry" she said kissing me a few times on my temple

"I really didn't mean to scream at you" she said as we broke apart

"No it's okay really! I understand you just cared.. I guess I got it confused" I said making her smile

"I do care you know" she said

"I know, you both do" I said looking at Cheryl who was stood by the door and she beamed with happiness when I said that
