Garrett looked at Annalise a bit took back by her words but could tell by the look on her face that she was serious. kissing Vivian's head he slowly put her down on the ground and Vivian knew to go to her mother's side. Alice and Jasper then came into the room and you could cut the tension in the air with a knife. Annalise had her arms crossed and was glaring dagger at both Garrett and Kate.

"A vampire mate is different." Alice spoke up trying to explain.

"How my brother or myself could have ever loved one you kind kind escapes me. Nothing but cold corpses and no longer under my protection. Good luck living through my war, Immortals are worse then your high vampires." Annalise said turning about to walk away.

"You starting a war with us?" Kate spoke up about to try and grab Annalise.

Unknowing of course of Annalise's powers. Barely half way to Annalise, Kate froze in position and Annalise turned around to face her. Annalise had a different look about her, and evil look about her as she now used her powers not only on Kate but every vampire in the room.

"Vivian, go play with your little friend, we will be leaving soon." Annalise said and Vivian knew her mother meant business and quickly left the room.

Though all the vampires were frozen they could still talk. Not that Annalise really wanted them to.

"Annalise, don't do this, you swore you wouldn't hurt our kind, you swore to your brother." Carlisle spoke softly to her.

"Yeah and look where loving a vampire got him, dead. Now maybe I should return the favor." Annalise said with a wicked grin upon her face as she circled Kate. "You see when I was a hunter I wouldn't kill your kind right off the back, no that would be too easy. I would torture them and make sure they hate to be living at all."

Kate gulped as she could see Garrett out of the corner of her eyes as she tried to plead with him for help. That wouldn't do her any good though, Annalise's powers were much stronger then any other vampires in the room.

"Annalise, Garrett didn't have a choice, mates are not picked they just happen." Alice explained as she could see different futures of what Annalise was planning to do to Kate.

Annalise didn't listen, her rage was too strong and her heart wanted revenge. Garrett had abandoned her twice now. First when he was human and now when he was one of the un dead. Before anyone knew what to do Annalise grabbed Kate by her neck and lifted her up from the ground.

"You want to know what true death feels like? Knowing the ones around you even the ones you love can't help you no matter what they do. The feeling is called helplessness." Annalise said as her grip on Kate tightened.

"Annalise please, let her go, I swear if you let her live then we can be together and happy." Garrett said.

Annalise blinked and er day dream/ nightmare of killing Kate was over, no matter how much she wanted it to be true. Looking past them she saw Vivian was still playing with Edward and Bella's daughter.Blinking and trying to get her powers under control she felt someone put their cld hand on her shoulder. Looking to the person she was surprised to see it was Carlisle. His touch still seemed to calm her.

"I'm Kate, Garrett's mate. Who are you?" Kate asked as she smiled.

"I'm well I guess I was Garrett's wife." Annalise spoke honestly.

Now it was Kate's turn to be mad. Turning to look at Garrett she slapped him as hard as she could and took off into the woods. Garrett stood in shock for a moment then looked to Annalise.

"Ten years already huh?" Garrett had the nerve to ask her.

"You are a horrible, lying coward who i denounce as having anything at all to do with me. Now go back to whoever she was and forget all about me and Vivian." Annalise said with a sigh as she held back tears.

"Annalise, Vivian is my daughter too." Garrett stated.

"I was your wife, yet you have obviously moved on." Annalise said and Carlisle stood closer to Annalise to let her know he was there if she needed him. "Go on and move on, you seem to do that best."

Garrett looked to Carlisle who nodded in agreement with Annalise. Knowing no matter what he said or tried to explain to Annalise she wouldn't listen at this moment Garrett turned and left the room but he knew one way or another he had to find a way to talk to her.

"You handled that well." Edward said surprised.

"You should have heard her thought's." Alice said looking to Edward.

"Oh I did, but she held back and didn't let her emotions get the better of her, she surprised me." Edward smile and went off to find Bella and his daughter as well as Vivian.

Carlisle led Annalise to the kitchen where he got her a snack to eat since ten years was a long time to not eat anything and as they sat down at the table Alice came over and tried to talk to Annalise about the whole vampire mating thing.

"Annalise, please just-" Alice started only to be stopped by Annalise.

"Please Alice, I really don't want to know right know. Ok? I just want to eat and not think." Annalise said not trying to be mean but was being honest.

Alice nodded and walked off into another room. Annalise looked up at Carlisle.

"Where's your mate then?" Annalise asked as she looked him right in the eyes.

Carlisle almost said "You" but stopped himself because a part of him was still unsure. Thinking back to all the things he had seen in Annalise and had begun to truly care for her understood she was hurt and in pain and all he wanted to do at that moment was be there for her.

"Some of us never find a mate, we just wander around in waiting I suppose." Carlisle spoke softly and carefully as he watched her eat.

"I'm sorry Carlisle, I wasn't trying to be mean to anyone, just a lot to wake up to." Annalise stated as she ran her fingers through her hair.

"I understand." he told her as he took her hand and held it in his. "I'm here for you if you need me."
