Chapter22: bear?!

The wind whisked past harumi, as she was riding her horse vanellope into the woods as she cried, harder and harder. The rain started to pour, as she was riding from the castle. She hiccuped, her father was evil. She had always given him the benefit of the doubt but he was truly evil. She wouldn't doubt that he didn't care for her at all. Her thoughts were interrupted by getting thrown off her horse. She screamed and groaned as she hit the ground hard. Still crying, she got off the ground and looked at her companion. "Vanellope!" She asked. She was all muddy now, and the dress was ruined. She used her sleeve to wipe away her tears, as she looked at what scared Venellope so bad. She noticed they were in the rings of stones, a place where her mother once told her a child, if everything was done correctly Could be used to remove curses, and other things. Her father of course de-bunked this. But a childish part of her always belived. She saw some blue light? 'No, it was the wisps!' Giving a sigh of relief, knowing she wasn't alone. She petted her horses mane. "It's alright girl. I'll protect you. Nothing is going to hurt you" she told the horse. Who neighed in response. The Forest was lush and green, but it was beautiful that little rain drops dripped down onto the leaves, catching the drops protectively as if they were their child.

'I wonder where they're taking us venellope' she muttered, as soon they were in a green valley. Then off to the side there was a little cottage, alongside a little lake. 'Huh' she walked forward. But she tied her horse to a tree to keep her safe, she petted her mane again. "It's alright girl, I'll be right back" she promised as she setted off towards the cottage wondering what she might find there.

She walked in,and she looked around. There were carvings of bears all around her, and she had to push away from carvings so she didn't hit them with her head. She nearly jumped when she heard a voice: "Hello dear, it's been awhile since we've had a customer. Go ahead and look around all you like, but let me know if you need anything" a sweet old woman told her as she continued to carve a bear. Harumi was astonished as she looked around. Her mother, and father taught her at a young age not to talk to strangers, but she seemed like a nice woman and trustworthy. Harumi put on one of her brightest smiles. "Hello, she greeted who are you?"

The women smiled, she had a nice brown cloak, and looked very nice. She looked at the girl. "Oh, my name is mistaké, but I'm just a woodcarver, nothing special" she said to her as she continued. Harumi looked around. Everything looked amazing. "Woah, you made all of this?" She asked women. Who nodded. Harumi was astonished, when suddenly somthing caught her eye. 'Huh?' She asked, turning around she saw the women's broom was sweeping by its self. Harumi gasped and staggered back. "Ma'am! Your broom! She shouted in panic. The women quickly snapped her fingers and the broom fell down. Harumi was on edge. "It was sweeping by itself! I feel scared yet...... intrigued" she muttered that last part. The women however looked at the girl. "No no, you must of not gotten any sleep last night! I promise you the broom was not moving by its self young lady" she said as harumi goes towards a crow, and being the curious teen goes to touch it.

As she does so Mistaké Voice called out to her: "Ah! That's stuffed!" The women said as harumi suddenly got snapped at by the bird's beak. She gasped and went back a step in fear, and to her utter amazement it spoke actually spoke like a person did. "Hey watch it!" Squawked the bird. Harumi blinked. "It can talk? It can talk!?" She yelled.

As the crow smirked and puffed out its chest. "Ah do you like music young girl" he asked and without an answer started to sing however he got a broom to the face, and was knocked to the ground. The broom sweeps it across the floor, before the crow hissed at the broom, and it fled away in terror.

Rumi's eyes widened, as she realized who she was. Her mom told her stories of her kind, but told her they all disappeared years ago. So what was she doing here?

"Ma'am your a witch!" She yelled as the women denied what she was saying. "I'm sorry dear, but I'm just a wood carver" she said as she continued working on a bear. Harumi smiled brightly. "That's why they led me to you! You can help me!" She said. As the women kept denying it over and over. She looked down at her feet, like she was child. "You see, it's my father he's forcing me to get married, an—" she was cut off by Mistaké. "Young lady! I am not a witch!" She yelled. As the two went silent, before she spoke again. "If your not going to buy anything, I'm afraid I'll have to ask you to leave!"

Harumi suddenly was pushed back, as knives went towards her, in fear she squeaked as she took steps back, as she tries to reason with the women in front of her. "Please!" She begged. "The wisps they led me to you!" The women shook her head and made a I don't care gesture to the princess.

"Now get out you hoodlum!" She shouted, as harumi was forced out of the cottage she looked to see what she could do to stop this when she had an idea and smiled.
"I'll buy it all!" She called to the women, as the the floating knives stop in mid-air. "What was that?" She asked the girl. Who looked at her confidence returning with every word. "Every carving" she said to the girl, as Mistaké got nervous that the knifes were now pointing at her.

"Well now how are you supposed to pay for that sweetie?" She asked cheekily not expecting what happened next. Harumi takes off her necklace and shoes it to women. "With this" she replied, as Mistaké gazed at it, and it's beauty. "That's so lovely, with this necklace" she looks harumi up and down. "You must be the princess Correct?" She asked, and harumi nodded. "I will buy, everything carving and one spell please" she said as she stood straight. Mistaké smiled. "Are you sure you know what your doing missy?" She asked. As the girl nodded. "Yes, I don't want to leave everything I know, and love because my father wants to marry me off. with doing this it will change my fate. I just know it!" She said with certainty. As she saw Mistaké think about it before grabbing the necklace from her. "Done, your majesty" she said as she bowed. She grabbed harumis hand and walked out making harumi a little upset. She put her hands on her hips. "Hey! I thought we had a deal!?" She asked he women who chuckled.

"Hon, if you were alive as long as me, you'll know this simple rule: Never conjure where you carve" she explained, as she opened her cottage and evyething changed into a witch's lair, harumi was amazed. "Wow, if my parents knew where I was they'd freak out" she murmured as Mistaké spoke, breaking her out of her thoughts: "I did this many years ago, for a prince" she started. As she grabbed things from the shelves. Harumi looked around. "Amazing"

"The prince demanded I give him the strength of ten men, and he gave me this. she shows harumi a coin bearing the symbol of two crossed axes. "For a spell. A spell that would change his fate" Harumi smiled. Liking what she was hearing this might actually work in her favor after all. "Did. Did he get what he was after?" Harumi asked her who nodded furiously. "Yes! And made off with an especially attractive mahogany cheese board" Mistaké grabs some things, and starts throwing things into the potion, she hummed as she threw things into the cauldron. Mistaké smiled, as she grabs tongs. "Now then, let's see. What have we here?" She said as she fishes out a tart from the potion. Harumi was confsued as she looked down at the tart. "Um, a cake?" She asked confused. As Mistaké got angry after doing all that work for her. "You don't want it!?" She yelled. As harumi stepped back a step, as she shook her head. "No, no I want it!" She said to her as she looked at Mistaké. "You are one hundred percent sure, this will change my fate?" She asked her. As the women nodded. "Yes! Trust me honey it will work"

Harumi smiled satisfied, as she walked out of the cottage. As Mistaké called to her. "Honey, Expect delivery of your purchase within a fortnight" she called as she walked away. Then Mistakés face turned to worry. "Uh, what was that thing I was supposed to tell her? Harumi turned to ask her if she was talking to her when she saw the cottage disappeared. "Huh, strange" she muttered.

Harumi walks in into the kitchen sneakily, after she puts vanellope away. "Does the emperor like tea?" She muttered. As she went through drawers to find what she was looking for. Soon she found Enything she needed, and she made a little treat for her father. "I hope the witch was right, and he changes" she muttered. As she picked it up ready to go find her father when: "Harumi!" A voice called. Harumi smiled, as she turned toward the voice. "Mom!" She ran forward hugging her. The woman smiled, as she held her daughter. "Oh. I was so worried, we were all looking for you. We didn't know what happened! I thought you were kidnapped!" Harumi tearfully smiled. "I'm alright mom, I promise" the women smiled before looking down, and gasped. "Your dress, what happened?"

Harumi looked away, "I'm fine, I'm not hurt I promise my horse just threw me, but where's father?" She Asked. Aspheera signed. "He's been in our room, looking out the window, and looking at a painting we had done when you were born" Harumi blinked. She picked up the tray, and went to head towards the room when her mother hugged her again. She apologized, before the young princess went up the steps to her parents room. She felt nervous, but she couldn't back out now, putting the tray down and knocking on the door. "Father?" She asked. There was no repose, until Harumi spoke again: "it's me Harumi '' she called, she heard rapid footsteps, and then the door opened to see her father's eyes widening before ushering her Inside. Harumi put the tray down on a bedside table. The room looked normal, there was a baby book on the side. She assumed it was of her, and the boys. She also saw a wedding book of her parents and they looked wild when they were her age.

"Harumi!" a sudden voice caused her to jump, and fall down. She blinked as she got back up and saw her father was turned towards her again all arms behind him, but he didn't look his usually judgement way, he looked different. "Yeah?" She asked as she walked over to where her father was. "I was so worried about you, where were you?" He asked her.

Harumi bit her lip, "I'm fine I promise. My horse just accidentally threw me off she got scared I'm not hurt" what happened next shocked harumi. Her father smiled. He accidentally smiled! "Oh harumi,I didn't know where you'd gone or when you'd come back! I didn't know what to think!" He told her frantic. Harumi ooked away. As her father hugged her, "oh harumi, I know we don't have the best relationship. With You know Everything that happened, but" he tucks a strand of hair behind her ear. "I still care about you even if I don't show it" Harumi smiled. As she walked over to bed stand. "I Made you something, like I did when I was child" she explained as she handed the tray to her father. The man looked shocked, as he was handed the tray. "You made this? For me?" He asked shocked. The girl nodded. The man smiled, he went over to his desk to start eating it.

He liked it at first then there was a sour taste. "Harumi what did you make this out off, onions?" He asked as he was doubling over gagging. Harumi got worried. "Father?" She asked as she walked towards him. Who groaned. "Please help me go my bed, harumi" he requested. She nodded and supported her father to his bed. "I'm woozy suddenly. Oh, my head's spinning like a drop!" Garmadon said as he started to fall out of the girls grip, but haruni managed to catch him.

Harumi helps her father get into bed, she tucks him in like he did when she was still a child. "Just take all the time you need to get yourself right,. And maybe in a bit you might have something new to say on the marriage?" She suggested. As garmadon let out a yell:

"What was in that cake?" He asked in pain. Harumi shrugged it off, "cake, dad what else would it be made off?" She asked her father. Who didn't answer and rolled off the bed in pain.

She blinked. "Father?" Should I tell them the wedding is off?" She asked expecting to hear her fathers voice but heard a roar instead. Harumi started to get scared. "F-father?" She asked as she walks around to see if her father is fine, she sees a giant shape rise from the floor and as it turns it's revealed garamdon has transformed into a bear. Harumi let out a blood curdling scream as she fell to the floor in panic. 'I really wish I had my kantanna' she muttered, as garmadons lols down at his form then started dreaming out and tearing the room apart. Harumi slowly stood up from the floor. She was terrified: "father, your.....you're a bear!" She screamed
