Chapter 11: Falling For You

Levi, Hanji, and Erwin {Changed my mind about Ymir and Christa/Historia}

Levi's POV

Opening my eyes to be greeted the 3rd day of school, I finally decided something that I should've done weeks ago, during the summer break. I ensured that I packed money, knowing that Hanji would want some food after school... my hair was combed straight, and double-checking that my homework was complete. Everything should be perfect for today... since I'm finally asking Hanji out.

After all my morning chores, I ate some morning toast with just plain butter. Everything must be toasted perfectly... unlike four-eyes. Sometimes, I don't question why she eats her food like that... actually, I don't question a lot of things that she does. Lesson learned, never question Hanji's actions. Glaring at the clock, seeing how the time was ticking at 8:00 in the morning. Looking back to the stairs, listening to the apartment, silent. "Great day to start, Hanji. Waking up late, as usual." I say, rolling my eyes as I said them.

Climbing up the stairs, I realized that I was deaf. Faintly, Hanji's hip hop music started to play, emitting from her room. In front of her door, I hear her voice, so mesmerizing. How have I never heard her sing? She has the most beautiful voice I ever heard... I leaned against her door, closing my eyes, I pictured her in my head... singing.

I accidentally pushed against the door so hard, that I felt the door move, making me fall into her brightly lit room. There she was, her music playing loud, and she was sitting on her bed, with a brush in her hand. Sitting up, I see her face, blushing madly.

Heck, I even felt my face burn up. "H-Hanji! S-Sorry about that!"

Why should I be sorry? She was the most amazing singer... instead of her getting mad at me, she laughed, no, giggled. "L-Levi... I didn't expect you to drop in so suddenly..." Why is her giggles making me stand and walk to her? No control over anything... my soul was rendered useless...

"I-I came to wake you up... why are you up this early?"

She laughs once more... waking me from my trace, just a bit. I realized that I was sitting next to her, my hand hovering over hers... jeez! I was about to hold her hand... "I felt that something was gonna happen... or my tangled hair started to bother me. Anyways, I couldn't stand brushing my hair in silence, so I played some music."

"I heard you sing."

Once I mentioned that, her face turned into a pale tomato. Seeing how pink and red it was... oh, it was cute... making me blush- why are you making me so weak, Hanji?! Hearing my heart beat faster with every passing second... oh! Being this close to her... she took my breath away, soon, my heart...

"You sounded-"

"Terrible. I know. I-I'm working on it."

Now, I just made the greatest mistake in my life. I took her hand, holding it close to my stomach, I loved being near her... "Terrible? Hanji, you were amazing! Why join the science club if you have the greatest voice I ever heard?"

"Amazing? Tell that to the choir kids. Told me my voice wasn't what they wanted in their club... so I bailed."

"Bailed? Whatever they said, they were wrong. I mean it. Like, I never knew you sang."

"Really?"

"Of course." Without thinking straight, I made my mistake. "I would love it if we made a band together and played for the school." Great, I cannot rewind time back... and there was no way that she would say no to that opportunity.

Hanji grew a smile on her face, "And what would you do?"

"I can try and sing."

"Sing? You? Wouldn't be surprised if you sang..."

"Wait, seriously?"

She nods, "Yeah. I mean... I hope so."

Brushing all that away, I finally remembered why I came up here in the first place. If she was wide awake, I would finally ask her. "So... um, Hanji... the real reason I came-"

Hanji looked to her alarm clock, which interrupted my proposal, reading 8:19. 11 more minutes before school began. We wouldn't have time to talk until class. She takes my arm, pulling me out of her room with her stuff. "We gotta go, right?!"

"Yeah... we do..." Why couldn't I ask her?! Sometimes, I hate myself for making two mistakes in a row. Proposing to make a band and not asking her out. I got to do it, before that rat, Erwin, does. Hanji will be my girlfriend, and my date to the dance. I don't care how many times you comb your hair or your eyebrows, I will protect her against you.

Panting as we collapse into our seats in science class, we barely made it. Once we stepped in, the bell rang. A second later, we would be in detention... and I've been in it so many times that it gotten annoying. Plus... I wanted to take Hanji to the mall or something... a place where we can be together in peace.

Listening to Ms. Anderson's lectures about our projects again, I couldn't take it. I turned to Hanji, who was intensely listening. "Hey, I wanna ask you something."

"Hold on." She says, taking notes down.

"Now, I'll let you guys go and start your project." Ms. Anderson says, having the whole class wake up from their silence.

Hanji puts her pencil down, and turning towards me. In the corner of my eye, I see Erwin walking toward us. His partner was behind us, so I had to speak fast before he either asks her out or he would jump in. "You wanted to tell me something?"

"Y-Yeah. Hey, can we hang out? You know, at the mall or something."

She looks up, thinking. Then, I saw her smile, "Sure. I mean, I rather do something a bit of fun with you around, Levi. Why not?"

Finally, Erwin walks past us, sitting with his partner, Flagon. "I forgot, which class do you have last?"

"Oh, I have music class."

"Music?" I felt myself snicker, "And you said you can't sing."

"I-I'm in that class to improve, Levi. Speaking of music, are you still gonna make that band?"

Laughing that off, I told her truth. "Yeah... about that... I didn't want to do that..."

She laughs, "Come on, Levi. A band wouldn't hurt..." I rolled my eyes, calling it all crazy. She sighs, "What if I said that I'll do anything for you if you make the band?"

Would you be my girlfriend? I just wanted to ask that question... I really did. But if she meant what she said, which is true, I have to make the band for her... so stupid of me. "D-Depends..."

"Depends on what, Levi? Don't lie."

Her hazel brown eyes were so dreamy, I could just stare into them for eternity. "W-Well... depends on... i-if I want to or not... and I don't sing-"

"Shut up, Levi. I'm sure you can sing." Her eyes pop open, "Don't you have an off for your last class of the day?"

"Um... yeah."

"So, after your P.E. class, meet me in the music hall. Please."

Rolling my eyes, I nodded, "Fine. Better than waiting in the library for you."

Her smiles lit up the whole room, and I felt Erwin staring at us. "Thanks, Levi!"

Glaring at Erwin, I smirked, showing that Hanji cares about me as well. The way he stared back at me, well... I knew he was gonna plot something against me.

Erwin's POV

How dare he smirk at me... he has Hanji twisted around his little finger... I'll show you that you're nothing but a dirty little rat who cheats their way into what they want. Now, you're just stealing Hanji away from me... come on. At least I tried to flirt my way into her heart... unlike you thief.

"Hey, Erwin." Flagon shook me away, "Can we finish up on our planning part?"

"Y-Yeah. Um, where were we?"

"Um, how chemicals reacts to each other... we planned on making ice cream for our project." He made this face at me, "You okay?"

"I'm fine!"

Then, he smirks, "It's about that nerd in front of us, right?"

"She's not a nerd... not in that way..." I looked back at them, seeing Levi watch Hanji plan out their whole project. Her handwriting's so cryptic that I couldn't understand what she was planning. Not to mention that the classroom was so loud that I couldn't hear what she was saying.

Flagon laughs, "Oh, you love her... it's not terrible, but come on. A guy like you shouldn't be with a nerd like her. Let the bad boys deal with that problem. You, Erwin Smith, deserve a girl that's loyal and fun-loving-'

"Hanji is that girl... loyal, fun-loving... and cute."

Flagon started to laugh, "Oh my... Hanji's not the right girl for you... she's too... nerdy. Come on, maybe during our lunch period we can flirt with some girls, okay?"

Sighing, I just hope I have a chance to ask her out... if only Levi would step away from her. He acts like her bodyguard, and I can't stand it. "Fine... just this one time."

His eyes lit up, "Yes! Now I'm not lonely when flirting with cute girls."

Hanji... please... I see her smile, laughing as I watch Levi get confused about her mischievous plans. I... I want you, Hanji... I'll treat you like a princess... please...

Beginning of Music Class

Levi's POV

Tch, I waited in the music hall like a fool. Leaning my back against the wall, watching every music kid stare at me like I was crazy. Jeez Hanji! This is embarrassing! Like anyone would think that I, the bad boy of the school, would go to a music class with you! Ugh... which choice is better? Abandoning Hanji here so I can hide in the library, or stay here with her and just go along with her plans, even if it means me being harassed in public?!

"Hanji... you owe me, big time..." I say through my clenched teeth.

But all that anger disappeared when I see Hanji walking her way, gracefully to the stop where I was. Her smile brought happiness when she revealed them... "So, you didn't ditch me, Levi."

"Come on, can we get this over with?!" Shuddering with embarrassment, I walked down the hall with Hanji. "This isn't what I planned earlier, you do know that, right?"

"Yeah... but you look cute when you're like that."

"Like what?"

Her smirks... unlike anything I ever saw. Why am I noticing this? Lived with her for 2 years, and I never seen her like that... maybe it's because I avoided her everyday... locking myself in a room. "Well... all tense and angry. You look..." Her words were hanging off, like she was torn between saying certain words. "Ho- cute!"

I watched her face turn red; if she loved teasing me, well why shouldn't I give her the same punishment? Smirking, I told the one thing that might've exposed me, "You're cute when you're blushing like that."

Hanji's face turns into different shades of pink, shifting between red and pink. "A-Ah..."

"Hurry up, I don't wanna waste your time in your music class."

"O-Of course!"

As expected, her music room was filled with kids that seemed nerdy, or something like that. Chattering so lively, before they saw me. Their voices ceased, leaving the whole classroom silent. Then, the music teacher steps in.

"Ah! Time to- who's this kid? I'm sure I wasn't expecting another student." He points at me.

Quickly, Hanji took my arm, making everyone gasp in fear. "Don't worry, Mr. Fenn. He's with me! He's a bit lonely, as of right now, it's his off period. So, I thought that it wouldn't hurt if he came with me."

Mr. Fenn nods, "What's your name?"

"Levi. Levi Ackerman." Already, I seen some girls' eyes sparkling. Too bad, I'm not falling for any of you... only Hanji.

"Okay, Levi. Well, I hope you don't mind listening to them play, okay?"

"I don't."

The whole class started on with their lessons, and I just watched Hanji the whole time. Ignoring all the stares and all... her voice was amazing... and how her hand motions matched as she sang quietly. Oh, why did I have to fall for you, Hanji?
