Soldier Boy//Part 2//Mallie

Allie&Miles 1940's

The next morning no one knew where Allie was but Miles. No one saw her leave and no one saw her come in the next morning. But until she heard a 'what the hell' mumbled louder than it was supposed to she instantly shot up. She stood up and saw the man awake on the table. "Good morning Sergeant Kingsley. I'll check your stitches after I get back from getting you a shirt sir." Allie turned around to start walking to the door but right when she opened it he said, "Just call me Miles Doll." Her slight nod gave a answer as she exited out of the room. As she put the blanket in the laundry bin and grabbed the white t-shirts they carry for this occasion she got stopped by another nurse. "Allie where have you been? No one has seen you come in this morning or leave last night where'd you go?" Said the other nurse, Jan. "I was up all night with a shot soldier. He's doing better now. I do, on the other hand, have to bring him a new  t-shirt. It gets cold in here sometimes." Allie talked slowly but fast enough that she got to the room with out interruptions.

She'd like to admit that she had never payed attention to his tanned muscley body but for a second she did but he needed help with his shirt on. "I never caught your name, doll." He said right before he grunted from moving his shot arm. "It's Allie." She responded as she helped pull his shirt down. She forgot about the tall lanky kid from the night before who had left after stitching him up. No one came back the next day to see how he was doing. He didn't really care about that though, or the burning pain in his shoulder,no, he cared about the small bruises on your arm. "Now Nurse Allie I'd like you ask you a favor. A simple one actually, but I have a feeling you don't want to answer it. I want to know what fat-head moxie put those on your arm so when I get out of here I can show them what it means on how to treat a pretty little dame like your self." She was slightly stunned but tried to brush it off. "Thank you Sergeant, but I can handle my own problems. I don't want you to make a bum rap on anyone for me." She left then came back with pain medicine, but soon left so he wouldn't ask anymore questions.

But a week or two later after Miles started to get in a swing of things and decided to take a walk around the base. He walked behind the nurse tent to find Allie pinned up against a tree by another soldier. He knew it wasn't some type of fling her facial expression showed it all and her usually short curled black hair was completely messed up. "Hey buddy what do you think your doing?" He yells. Her closed eyes open at the sound of his voice. I guess he finally got his answer, she told her self. "Relax Serg. I'll take good care of her." The soldiers face was smirking as he spoke and she kept glancing at Miles a look to not believe him. "That's no way to treat a lady!" He yelled as he took his elbow and hit on the side of the mans head. He fell and let go of the small girls wrists. She breathed heavily but her first instinct was to run away until she opened her eyes to see Miles standing in front of her. Instead of running she hugged him. "Thank you so much." She wrapped her arms around his neck as he did to her waist. "Doll, I wouldn't have let anyone have to go through that. Especially you. You saved my life." He talked softly, only so if anyone came around on she could hear. "I guess we are both each other's hero's. I'd love to keep speaking but for my group of nurses our curfew is in fifteen minutes. Thank you Miles. You're a nice fella." She pulled away from their hug, and placed a kiss on his cheek leaving Miles smiling to him self as she walked away.
