Soldier Boy//Part 1//Mallie

Allie&Miles 1940

Allie was twenty when the war started. She was training to be a nurse at the time but when it started they needed nurses with experience desperately and she had to go. The nurses had strict rules with being with the soldiers. Take care of what's needs to be done and go to their assigned tent. Of course they weren't really supposed to be conversing with some of the soldiers who weren't hurt, but wanted to get in their pants. But Allie Weekes just wanted to do her deed, sleep, and do it all again. But one day that didn't work out so well.

There came a soldier who came with a shot straight through his shoulder. "Ms.Weekes we have Sergeant Miles J. Kingsley he's been shot." They held him up as he tried to walk in pace with them with his eyes slightly open but making a effort. He's a fighter, she thought. "Set him down on the cot. I need one of you to stay, the rest to leave." Everyone but this tall lanky kid left. "Okay sergeant I need you to sit up, and we can cut your shirt off so I can see your bullet wound." He whispered a okay as the other man helped him sit up as she place pillows behind him. Allie grab the scissors and cut it straight off of him. She didn't take time to look at the shirtless man because all she wanted was to get this done and sleep.

The bullet had went straight through Miles, making it better for him to not have to feel it being pulled out of him and enduring him into more pain. Miles could have fallen asleep right when he was laid down but infection was worse than a disease out on the base. Allie cleaned the insert and exit wound but the exit wound was a lot harder to do. He was in too much pain to move so he had to go on his stomach making the pain so much worse. Eventually stitching came and his muscles were flexing as he held on to a pillow to squeeze. Once again, she just wanted to get this over with.

When she was finally finished cleaning the blood off his back and chest he grabbed her hand with his eyes trying to stay as open as wide as he could make them. "Thank you. I know your protocol is that you have to stay a hour after the patient is done to make sure nothing happens, but you can leave me here. I'll be fine." She shook her head as she tried to pry hand away, but he saw some bruises along her wrist. "You are welcome but I can get in a lot of trouble for leaving earlier than I should. I will just find a blanket and take a nap on the floor. Speaking of blankets I need to get you one until you can be given a shirt tomorrow." She pulled her hand away again and left the room and came back with bleach white blankets for both of them, but once again he took his strength to grab her hand again which made her try to pull away again.

His fingers that were rough from training and dirty from the battle field lightly skimmed over the purple bruises along her pale white arm that resembled of finger prints. "Who did this to you." He whispered to him self but looked up at her for a answer. Her eyes moved back up to his face and to his light grasp on her wrist, "Nothing." She said quickly. "I'll just be down here if you need me." Allies voice said lightly as she sat on the ground using the white blanket as a pillow.
