Chapter 2- Confusion

"What are we doing today?" Scar asked as Night led them to a big clearing.

"Jaws decided to have battle training with you all," the dark furred tom replied, looking at the brown tom who stood with an expecting look.

"Thank you Night," Jaws mewed to him. "Would you ask Caw here?"

"Of course," Night replied, quickly rushing off to get Caw.

Jaws gazed at the kits and mewed, "When we are training, we fight with unsheathed claws."

"Why?" Bark asked, with a hint of a snarl in his voice.

Jaws glared at him and mewed, "Because you will need to get used to the pain. Since you are so eager, you get to go first."

"Against who?" he mewed.

"Caw," Jaws called out to the second oldest rogue, "fight Bark."

Caw nodded and Bark immediately leaped for him. Caw dodged and swiped at him with unsheathed claws.

Bark stumbled and Scar winced at the sight of blood.

Bark's eyes gleamed with determination and he pounced again. Caw reared up to meet him and he looked shocked when Bark knocked him down.

Bark raised his paw and slammed it onto Caw's face. Scar and Cream gasped when Caw screeched in pain.

Blood was beginning to stain the ground but Jaws continued to watch in interest.

Bark unsheathed his claws and began tearing clumps of Caw's belly fur. Caw was blinded by blood and he desperately swiped to hit Bark off him.

"Stop!" Jaws yowled when Caw's belly fur became wet with blood.

However, Bark refused to stop. He continued clawing at Caw, his eyes wild with an unreadable expression.

Jaws ran forward and pulled Bark off Caw, throwing the brown tabby kit on the ground roughly.

"I said stop!" he snarled at Bark as Night came and dragged Caw away.

Bark got up, his dark yellow eyes blazing. He pounced at Jaws but Jaws quickly shoved him onto the ground again, pinning him down and his claws at Bark's throat.

Cream stepped forward in alarm but Scar quickly stopped her, reassuring her that Jaws wouldn't kill him.

"You wouldn't listen to orders!" Jaws growled.

"You... drop... into pool," Bark rasped and then he closed his eyes.

Jaws gestured for a rogue to come. "Take this kit back to the den. I will settle with him later. Scar, Cream, we shall continue the training," he ordered.

Scar blinked at what Bark had said. Jaws wouldn't be mousebrained enough to fall into a pool right?

"Scar, attack Cream," Jaws growled.

Scar obeyed and pounced at Cream. The cream she-kit awkwardly tried to dodge it but Scar had caught her with his paws.

"Well, attack her with unsheathed claws," Jaws mewed as if it was obvious.

Scar hesitantly swiped slowly at Cream's pelt. When he was considering whether to attack again, Cream had managed to escape his grip.

As Scar ran towards her, she tripped him with her tail. He felt embarrassed to be tripped and he could feel that Jaws was annoyed.

"We need to work on more battle moves," he mumbled. "Well, that's all for today. Tomorrow, you should expect better training."

Cream helped Scar up and whispered, "What will happen to Bark?"

"Hopefully he will be fine," Scar mewed worriedly, remembering Bark's look of fury as he took on Caw without flinching and pounced at Jaws although he knew that it was dangerous. "What happened there?"

"That was very bad," Cream mewed, beginning to walk back to the den. "He ever acted like that before."

"Let's go quickly," Scar mewed, breaking into a run.

When they arrived at the den, Bark was just waking up. He looked at them with a confused look, then he shook his head.

"What did I do?" Bark asked, sounding like his normal self.

"You injured Caw badly," Cream replied nervously. "And you attacked Jaws and said something about him falling into a pool or something."

"I did?" Bark blinked.

"You don't remember?" Scar brust in.

"I think I do remember," he replied. "It is very confusing. There was a voice... I couldn't control myself... and then I woke up here."

"How does the voice sound like?" Scar asked curiously.

"Deep," Bark mewed and he closed his eyes in thought.

"I'm going to take a nap," Scar decided.

Hiding in the boxes nearby, a cat smirked. "Well done," the cat mewed before disappearing into the shadows.
