Story Teasers

Okayyy everyone, so I'm working on 2 stories by myself right now, and I want to post one of them sometime next week. But I don't know which one you guys would be more interested in reading.

So, here are short teasers from both of them. "Love Square" is about a love square (durrrr) and is a bit more humorous, with a few serious elements in it. "The Affair" is about a boy trying to call off an affair, and his lover's revenge. It's more serious, with a little bit of humor mixed in. So, let me know which one you guys are more interested in reading first!

Love Square Teaser:

When lunch rolled around, we sat at our usual table together. I began to eat hungrily. Man, I’d have to give my mother a stern talking to. How dare she sleep in when I was hungry! Selfish woman…

                “Ant.”

“I JUST WANTED A POPTART!” I cried defensively, spinning in my chair.

Collie raised an eyebrow at me. “Okay. That’s not really my problem.”

I blushed. “Sorry. I thought you were my mom.” My eyes widened and I shook my head violently. “No! I mean I was thinking about my mom! NO! NOT LIKE THAT! I just…and…so, um, what did you need Collie?”

“Did you do the study guide for English?” he asked.

I thought back before nodding. “Yes I did! Why, do you need help on it?” I asked.

Collie sighed and nodded. “Yea, I was tired when I was reading, so I barely understood the book. Can you help me so I don’t fail that class?”

I nodded and pulled the study guide out of my backpack. Collie grabbed my arm and pulled me to my feet.

“Come help me at my table. My bag’s over there anyways,” he said.

I glanced at Zane. He shot me a nervous look, his eyes sliding over to Colin. Colin was sitting at the table, talking with his friends and smiling.

“It’ll be fine Ant,” Collie said patiently. “Colin will get mad, but he won’t do anything. You’re helping me.”

“I’ll be right back Zane,” I said, winking at him before following Collie over to his table.

He motioned at a seat and I took it. He sat down across from me, digging in his backpack before producing a half finished study guide.

“Uh…right. So for this one, green symbolizes money,” I explained, pointing at one of the questions.

“What the fuck are you doing at our table?”

At the sound of the furious voice, I smiled widely and turned to face Colin. He was glaring from a few seats down. The table had gone eerily silent.

“He’s helping me with something Colin,” Collie said, waving his hand dismissively, not even bothering to glance at Colin as he spoke.

“Collie, I don’t like that faggot sitting at our table. Find someone else to help you,” Colin snapped.

“Colin, shut up,” Collie said with a sigh. “I just need help on this, and then Ant is going back to his table. He wasn’t even bothering you. Leave the guy alone for five minutes. I promise it won’t kill you. So, kindly shut the hell up.”

Colin looked shocked that his brother had talked to him like that. He got a guilty look in his eyes and nodded.

“Sorry Collie,” he said, pretending I wasn’t sitting right there.

Collie ignored Colin and turned back to me. He began to scribble down what I had just told him before looking back up at me.

“Why do you let Colin talk to you like that? Stand up for yourself,” he said.

“I don’t need to,” I said, smiling weakly. “Once we’re dating, it won’t matter.”

Collie rolled his eyes. “Man, you’re determined aren’t you? Determined, or stupid. Look over there. See that pretty girl? That’s Emma Redner. See the way Colin is looking at her?”

I looked over and my heart dropped. There was, indeed, a very pretty girl sitting across from Colin. She was giggling at whatever he was saying, and his eyes were shining at the sound.

“Colin told me how much he likes her,” Collie explained.

“He’ll like her but love me,” I said confidently. I had been after Colin for five years. I had put up with endless abuse for him. Sooner or later, he would come to love me.

“You keep telling yourself that, Ant. But I know my brother. He’s a homophobe, and he always will be. You need to move on and find a different guy. One who doesn’t treat you like shit,” he said. A look flashed through his eyes and he dropped his gaze back down to the study guide.

“I’m not giving up on him,” I said firmly. “He’ll come around eventually. I know he will.”

I looked over again and saw that Emma chick watching us. Colin said something to her and she turned to him, giving him a friendly smile and nodding at whatever he was saying.

Her eyes slid back over to us as Colin talked. She eyed me for a second before he gaze came to rest on Collie.

She snapped her attention back to Colin, replying to whatever he had just said to her. He smiled, his eyes shining again as he laughed at what she had said.

Collie snapped in my face, getting my attention. He gestured to the study guide in front of him and sighed.

“You’re here to help me, not to gawk at my brother,” he reminded me.

“Sorry, sorry,” I said, shaking my head and trying to focus on the study guide.

The Affair Teaser:

I pulled Luka into my arms and laid down on his bed. He snuggled up against my bare chest and kissed me.

“Connor, I love you,” he said, smiling softly.

I ran my hand through his hair and smiled back at him. “I love you too Luka,” I said sincerely.

“And I’m the only one you’ll ever love, right?” he asked nervously.

“Of course,” I said, kissing him deeply. “You’re the only one I’ll ever love, Luka. You’re the only one I ever want to be with.”

Luka’s smile returned and he brought his lips to mine. I kissed him back, fighting off images of Blake. Blake wasn’t here right now. Luka was.

The doorbell rang, as if Blake knew what I had been thinking. Luka and I pulled apart and got up, heading downstairs and pulling the front door open.

                “Hey guys,” Blake greeted, grinning.

I took in his appearance, keeping my expression casual. I had seen him without his clothes on enough times, so why should I let myself get excited over the sight of him topless?

“To the pool!” Luka cried in excitement, grabbing my hand and dragging me towards his back door.

Blake and Felix laughed and followed us, shutting the front door for Luka. We went out to Luka’s backyard and over to his pool.

Luka dipped his toe in, a thoughtful expression on his face. “Warm,” he confirmed, pulling his toe out of the water and leaping in.

“Come in guys!” he said, waving us in once he had resurfaced.

Felix, Blake, and I shrugged before jumping into the pool. We swam around for a little, splashing each other and playing sharks and minnows.

Luka swam over to me and wrapped his arms around my neck, leaning up and kissing me. “I’m having fun Connor,” he said, smiling.

“I’m glad,” I said, wrapping my arms around his waist. I rested my forehead against his, looking into his eyes.

He kissed me again and rested his head on my shoulder. “Are you spending the night again? I can make you breakfast again!”

I laughed and nodded, tracing circles against his back with my thumb. “Yea, I’m staying the night again. And I can’t wait to see my bacon and toast smiling at me in the morning.”

“But when I tell you to get up tomorrow, you better get up mister! And you better not be a grumpy jerk again,” he said, pouting.

“Connor’s always a grumpy jerk in the morning,” Blake said, laughing. “He hates waking up.”

Well jeez. He acts like getting woken up by his mom’s stupid wind chimes was fucking fun.

“You guys are all just mean to me,” I grumbled.

“I’m not mean to you!” Felix whined. He paused thoughtfully. “Well, actually, you are a grumpy jerk in the morning. Sorry Connor, but that’s just a fact.” He snickered.

I rolled my eyes. “Well, now that you’re all being complete assholes to me, I’m going to go get us soda and chips because I’m thirsty and hungry.”

Luka smacked my arm. “Stop saying bad words!” he said sternly, pointing a threatening finger at me.

“Stop being mean to me,” I said, pushing his finger away from my face.

He giggled and kissed me. “I’m only saying the truth, baby! Now go get us some snacks and drinks,” he said, giving me a joking shove towards the edge of the pool.

I climbed out of the pool and Blake copied me. I gave him a questioning look.

“I’ll help you carry everything,” he explained.

I shrugged and we dried off a little before heading into the house together. We moved into Luka’s kitchen and I dug around for some chips and soda.

Blake grabbed my arm and pushed me up against Luka’s refrigerator. He grinned at me, getting up in my face.

“Doesn’t it excite you, Connor?” he asked, shifting and licking from my stomach up to my chest. “Being in the pool together? Like that night in the hot tub?”

I smirked, grabbing his hips and pulling him against me, kissing him deeply. “I remember that night in your hot tub,” I said, my smirk getting wider.

I glanced over at the window near us, making sure Luka and Felix wouldn’t be able to see us. My heart was pounding at the risk of this. Of Blake and I acting like this right in my boyfriend’s kitchen.

“And I’m the only one you’ll ever love, right?”

I froze, Luka’s words exploding in my mind. Blake frowned at me, cocking his head to the side curiously.

                “What’s wrong Connor?” he asked.

“Blake, let’s just go back outside. This is too risky,” I said with a sigh.

Blake smirked, pushing me back up against the refrigerator as I started to move. “You like the risk, and you know it.”

I opened my mouth to protest, but Blake cut off my words by crashing his lips on mine. I couldn’t help but kiss him back passionately, tangling my hands in his hair and drawing his face closer to mine.

Blake bit my bottom lip and I opened my mouth, letting his tongue in. Our tongue rubbed against each other playfully.

Blake pulled away from me after a little. He grinned. “I love you Connor,” he said, pecking my lips. He grabbed two packs of soda and headed towards the door, glancing over his shoulder at me.

I grabbed the chips and followed him. He gave me another kick kiss after making sure Luka and Felix couldn’t see us.

“I love you Blake,” I said once he had pulled away from my lips.
