New Story- Teaser #1
“Hey.”
I jumped and spun to face Jesse as he took a seat across from me. I forced a smile and nodded at him.
“Hey Jesse. Have you seen Dakota?” I asked.
Jesse shook his head. “Nope. Haven’t seen her. Sorry.”
“You’re so blind Ty! I’m right here!” Dakota said, wrapping her arms around my neck and kissing my cheek. “Sorry I’m late. I forgot my locker combination again.” She released me and sat down next to Dominik.
“Yea, you should probably right that down,” I said, rolling my eyes at her.
Dakota nodded. “You’re right, and I probably should. But we all know that I won’t,” she said, smiling and pulling out her lunch.
“Listen to my story Dakota!” Dominik said, grabbing her shoulder and eagerly telling her what had happened with Mrs. Caprice this morning.
Dakota laughed when he had finished, shaking her head at us. “This is why I love your parents. But especially Tyson’s dad,” she said, winking at me.
“He is a happily married man! …I think,” I said.
“He is an attractive man. And I don’t just think that. That’s a fact,” Dakota said, smirking along with Dominik.
“Yea, your dad is pretty hot Tyson,” Dominik said, wrapping an arm around my waist and kissing my cheek.
“You guys are creepy! My dad is old!” I whined. “Dominik, you’re supposed to love me!”
“And I do love you Tyson. I just happen to love your dad’s appearance as well,” he said, laughing as I pouted deeply.
“Are we hanging out at Tyson’s house afterschool?” Dakota asked.
“Yes!”
“No!”
Dominik and I narrowed our eyes at each other.
“Yes,” Dominik said.
“No! We went to my house last time!” I argued.
“Well we’re going to your house again this time!” Dominik flashed me puppy-dog eyes. “Please Tyson?”
I groaned and nodded. “Fine. But we’re not hanging out at my house tomorrow! My dad is probably getting sick of you perverts eyeing him the whole time you’re there.” I turned to Jesse. “Want to come hang out with us afterschool?” I asked, ignoring Dominik as he elbowed me under the table.
Jesse thought for a minute before shrugging. “Yea, sure. But I can’t stay too long. I have to get home for dinner.”
“That’s fine,” I said, offering him a friendly smile.
He nodded and got up, heading over to one of the vending machines to get a drink. Dominik turned to me and frowned deeply.
“Tyson, will you use your head for once? Even letting Jesse sit with us is dangerous,” he said, glancing over at the popular table. “If it was Jesse that Marco and Brooks were talking about, he really pissed them off. We don’t want to get caught in the middle of that. It’s too dangerous.”
“Calm down Dominik,” I said, kissing his cheek and taking his hand in mine, squeezing it reassuringly and smiling at him.
“Just remember what you promised me,” he said.
I nodded. “Of course. I’ve never broken a promise to you, and I never will. You know that Dominik.”
“Well…if you do break this promise to me…then I get to have sex with your dad!” he said.
“Oh my god that was the creepiest thing I’ve ever heard in my entire life!” I groaned, slapping my hands over my ears. “Burn that out of my memory!”
“Yea, your sex takes me to paradise and it shows,” Dominik sang cheerfully.
“Guess I came back at the wrong time,” Jesse said as he sat down with a water bottle in his hands.
“Jesse, run while you still can,” I said miserably.
He gave a small laugh and shrugged. “You guys are certainly entertaining,” he said, sipping on his water.
“We’ll take that as a compliment,” Dominik said, pulling me so that I was on his lap. He wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his chin on my shoulder, turning and kissing my neck.
“It was,” Jesse assured. “I’ve only ever really hung out with those guys,” he jerked his thumb at the popular table, “and their idea of fun is bullying people, having sex, and partying hard. That’s just not my style.”
“Why were you even with them?” Dakota asked.
Jesse shrugged. “Reasons. It’s a long story.”
“And not one you need to tell,” I said, shooting Dakota a look that told her to shut up and let it drop. Dakota shrugged innocently. I shook my head and rolled my eyes. “Sorry Jesse.”
“Don’t be,” he said, completely unconcerned. I had a feeling that not much fazed Jesse.
We fell to casual talk until the bell rang. We stood up and left the cafeteria together, heading to our next period classes.
“Well, I guess we have to part ways. Bye Jesse. Come by my locker afterschool,” I said, walking and holding hands with Dominik.
“Alright. See you in a little, Tyson,” he said, giving me a short wave before disappearing into the crowd of bustling students.
Dominik and I turned and went up the stairs together. I sighed and looked up at Dominik, rubbing the back of his hand with my thumb.
“Are you mad at me for inviting him?” I asked.
Dominik shook his head. “No, I’m not. I understand why you’re doing it, Tyson. I’m just worried about you is all.” He shot me a look. “And you better not pick him over me!”
Despite the joking tone of his voice, I could see the slight concern in his eyes. I kissed his cheek and shook my head at him.
“Never. I would never pick anyone over you Dominik,” I said seriously.
He smiled widely at me. “Good! And hopefully Jesse doesn’t try to take your dad from me, either.”
“Oh my god Dom. Stop with that,” I groaned, face-palming myself.
Still, I was nervous and eager at the same time. This would be our first time hanging out with Jesse Kahler. And I was dying with curiosity to learn more about that mysterious, attractive boy.
