"Are you sure?" Xinlong took a breath and looked at me for reassurance. In all honesty, I wasn't sure if I wanted to officially announce our relationship to the public, but I was so sick and tired of hiding and never being able to see him in public. It was exhausting, I wanted to be able to go on a date, a real date with Xinlong. To a beach maybe? The movies perhaps? My urge to be free and open with our relationship was enough to make my fears of what could happen seem small. But they plagued me nonetheless.

"What if his fans don't like me?"

"What will people say?"

"Will his manager like me?"

"Will this affect his career?"

I was extremely worried, I wasn't some world famous idol like he was, I wasn't a model, an actress/actor, I was just some person he happened to meet on tour, I wasn't sure if I'd live up to people's expectations of me, but I wanted people to know.

"I'm sure." I gave the best smile I could muster. Xinlong nodded, taking my hand, and knocking on the door of his manager's office. The door opened revealing a man, maybe about in his late twenties, with round glasses and a little tuff of bleached white hair on top of his head. He looked to have a very fun personality and I briefly thought back to all the time Xinlong had talked so fondly about this man. He looked at the boy beside me with a smile. His smile soon faded when he saw me and I felt my heart rate increase. I knew I stood out, as someone from [wherever tf you're from] in the middle of Beijing, and that only made me worried more.

"Tian, I have something I need to talk to you about." His manager nodded without speaking a word and let us both into his office. We both sat down on chairs opposite of Tian's desk. The older man gave me a few looks of concern, before turning his attention to Xinlong.

"Can they speak Chinese?" Tian said in almost a whisper, probably hoping I wouldn't understand.

"Yes, yes I can." I said as confidentiality as I could, trying my best to make my accent not as noticeable. Tian smiled awkwardly at me before speaking once more.

"This isn't what I think it is, is it?" Xinlong sighed.

"Depends on what you think it is." Tian ran his hands down his face.

"So what the other boys said is true?"

"What did they say?" Tian sighed.

"I heard them talking about you possibly being in a relationship, is this the lucky partner in question?" Xinlong looked at me and smiled.

"Yes." Tian turned his attention away from Xinlong and onto me, he didn't look disappointed, or as if he disliked me, he just looked worried.

"Nice to meet you." He bowed in his seat and I did the same.

"Nice to meet you as well Sir."

"I want to make it official, I want to tell my fans."

"I don't know Xinlong, that could be dangerous, you are quite young and-" Tian shook his head. "How long have the two of you been together?" I thought for a brief moment before replying.

"About a year and six months."

"Are you sure you want to do this?" He looked at the both of us and Xinlong gave a vigorous nod.

"Absolutely."

"Well, looks like I have a whole lot more work to do." Tian laughed and that instantly put me at ease.

"Wait, you're okay with our relationship?" Xinlong said in almost disbelief.

"Boy, I've known you since JYP scouted you, if this person makes you happy, I'll gladly support the two of you in whatever you need." Xinlong laughed a little and went up to hug his manager. It was a sweet moment to witness and I was happy a little bit of stress was off my shoulders. "Okay, but first, I need to get a little information from you." Tian spoke to me and Xinlong returned beside me. "I can't go making an announcement about someone I don't know now can I?"

"Of course, anything you need."

A few hours later, Xinlong and I had finally returned to his dorms and I was thankful. Tian had asked me probably every question you would expect, like, what my name was, where was I from, did I have any social media, where did Xinlong and I meet, blah, blah, blah, you get the idea. I threw myself onto the couch and Xinlong sat beside me.

"See? Wasn't nearly as bad as you thought, right?" I laughed.

"No, that went really well actually, now let's just hope your fans like me."

"Of course they will." He wrapped his arms around my shoulder and pecked my cheek. "You're amazing, why wouldn't they like you?"

"Ugh, the flattery, it's too much." He chuckled.

"You wanna know something?" I nodded. "The first second I saw you I couldn't get over how beautiful you were." I felt the heat rise to my face at Xinlong's compliment. This boy really would be the death of me.

"You're too much."

"But you love me anyway."

"I do love you." Our sentimental moment was soon interrupted by five boys barging into the room.

"WE HEARD YOU GUYS ARE MAKING IT OFFICIAL!" Mingrui yelled.

"Calm down Rui, you're so goddamn loud." Zeyu said, placing a hand on the younger boy's shoulder.

"We're really happy for you." Hanyu said, a smile evident on his face.

"That means a lot, Gege." You could tell just by looking at the two boys they had a massive amount of respect for one another.

"Celebratory movie marathon?" Zihao proposed.

"Hell yeah." Shuyang responded, taking a seat on the other side of me. He cuddled up to me and I chuckled. "I'm happy for you Jiejie/Gege."

"Aw thanks Shuyang." I had always thought of this little guy as my younger brother and I was glad to have his support as well as all the other boy's.

The notifications, god, the notifications wouldn't stop. I woke up the next morning to well over a thousand notifications from various different social media platforms. I had gained about three thousand more followers overnight and my DM's were the most full I've ever seen them.

"Well, I guess Tian posted the announcement." I said aloud, heart beating fast. I looked for the announcement in question to see people's immediate response to it. I thought about waking Xinlong up, but curiosity got the better of me. I quickly read what Tian had written, it not being my main focus, I didn't care too much, although, it was very well said from what I did read. I went straight to the comment section, practically holding my breath.

"Woah, this wasn't a post I'd thought I'd see."

"Have you guys seen Y/N? They're so pretty!"

"Y/N and Xinlong, the absolute power couple."

"BOSS love you Y/N!"

"Aww, what a cute couple."

"I wonder if they can sing? Maybe they can perform a duet with Xinlong! That'd be so cute."

"BOSS are happy for you! ❤❤❤"

I read through the comments with a smile on my face. People were so sweet! But, of course, I came across some nasty comments through the sea of support.

"Ugh, who even is Y/N L/N?"

"They're not that good looking, Xinlong could do much better."

"Lmao, let's see how long this relationship lasts."

"Ugly bitch."

"WTF? Bro, I've liked Boystory for a long time, but this might be the thing that makes me un-stan."

"Un-stan 😢"

"Y/N isn't good enough for Xinlong."

I put my phone down, not wanting to read anymore. I tried my hardest to keep my mind on all the nice things people had said about me, but naturally, that bad stuck out more in my head. Was I really not good enough for him? I looked to the sleeping boy beside me and gently stroked his cheek. Maybe I'm overthinking already.

Slowly, as the months went on, I noticed Xinlong's weibo, and his bands, losing mass amounts of followers at a time, not only that, but he was getting a significant amount of hate, all because of me. It was getting hard. The YouTube videos his band posted were getting a thousand views on a good day, and about nine hundred on a not so good day. I had single handedly fucked up not only Xinlong's whole career, but also his friends. I could tell it was taking a toll on all of them. They practiced harder, they put more content out, they tried their best but it seemed they were getting even less recognition than before. And naturally JYP was no help to them at all. I felt horrible, obviously, the people who hated me greatly outweigh those who liked me. Xinlong had tried telling me it wasn't my fault, and people who disliked me weren't his real fans and he wasn't upset to lose them, but, I could tell at least a little part of him was upset at his band's plummet.

"Y/N should just leave Xinlong already! They're driving all his fans away."

"I was supportive at first but now... idk guys, it seems like because of Y/N, Boystory's gonna have no fans."

"This is all Y/N's fault."

Reading the comments has become a habit for me. I felt the tears fall down my cheeks as I read all the hate people spilled out on the internet towards me and Xinlong. They were right, I knew the people were right, but I didn't know what to do about it.

What if I left?

The thought had crossed my mind more than once and it became more and more appealing each time.

"You're not going to lose me." Xinlong said while gently swaying the two of us. "You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now." He kissed me multiple times, trying to get me to calm down in my sobbing state.

"But, they, they hate me, and it's affecting your band."

"I don't care Y/N, I love you."

"That's the problem, you're putting your feelings in front of your career."

"And I'd fucking do it again, I couldn't care less about my band as long as I'm with you."

"But what about your members? They've worked so hard." Xinlong was silent and I released myself from his grasp, walking back to his room, and grabbing the few things I had left there, putting them in a small backpack.

"What are you doing?" He asked from the doorway.

"I'm packing my things."

"Why?" I could hear the panic in his voice and it made my heart break.

"I've talked to my mother back in [where ever tf you live], I'm going back there."

"What?! No, you can't do that!" He grabbed onto my shoulders and turned me around. "You can't leave me, please."

"You and I both know it's for the best."

"No! I-"

"Xinlong, I'm going, now please let go of me." I saw tears form in his eyes and I was almost tempted to stay, but I just couldn't. "Tell people we broke up, or I died or something, I don't care." He let go of me and a few tears left his eyes. Why didn't anyone tell me leaving the love of my life would be so damn hard.

"I love you Y/N L/N." He said through his own tears, voice breaking, as I exited the door of the dorms.

"I love you too, He Xinlong."

"Flight one sixty-six now boarding flight to [Where ever tf you live], please proceed to gate seven." I grabbed onto my large suitcase and slowly started making my way towards said gate. I stopped at the large window, before the gate, taking one last good look at the lovely city of Beijing. I recalled moments I had had here with Xinlong. My heart broke even more remembering the look of his face when I told him I was leaving. I really did love that boy with my whole damn heart, that's why it hurt so much to leave. I started walking to the gate, and gave the lady my plane ticket. She stamped it and handed it back to me.

"Have a nice flight." She smiled.

"Thank you." I stuck the ticket in my pocket and walked through the threshold.

"Wait!" I heard a deep, familiar voice yell. I turned around to be met with a very panicked Xinlong. He tried to walk toward me, but was stopped by the gate lady.

"Sorry Sir, you can't go in without a ticket." He looked at me desperately. I walked out of the small hallway that was adjacent to the plane. Xinlong threw his arms around me.

"Please Y/N," He said, slightly muffled by my shoulder. He backed away, keeping his hand on me. "My members and I will work harder, we all don't want to see you go. We love you. I love you."

"But your fans."

"I don't care what they think, to me, you're perfect." He cupped my face. "Don't leave me, please. I'll do anything to make you stay."
