twenty eight
the parks sat at the table in an awkward silence, jimin wanted to burst into tears he felt overwhelmed from his mothers piercing stare. he didn't dare look at her but he could feel her watching him.
"ah, what a lovely dinner~" grandpa park smiled, wiping his mouth on a soft napkin.
jimin had eaten most of his food; but didn't feel quite full. he kept his head down scared of his family seeing him break down.
"jimin honey, why don't you help me get the desserts hmm?" mrs park asked with a forced smile – more of a command rather than a question.
jimin nodded and quickly followed his mother into the kitchen, as soon as the two were out of ear shot mrs park's features crumpled into something ugly.
"jimin i don't know what those old bats are on about but let me tell you; liking boys is a sin!" she hissed trying to keep her voice at a low octave.
jimin felt a familiar lump in his throat but he nodded trying to blink back his tears. mrs parks hands closed into fists, she leaned forward with menacing eyes.
"don't you dare start crying! you have nothing to cry about!" she jeered. "i should be the one crying knowing my son is a stupid fag!"
she then opened the fridge, taking the cake and cookies out, slamming the fridge door shut before putting the food on separate silver trays; giving one to jimin.
she gave her son a nasty look before putting on a smile, going back into the pale dinning room, jimin following behind with his head down.
jimin sat down and took a rainbow piped cookie with a piece of strawberry cake, he chewed slowly, the lump in his throat had only worsened.
he began to cry.
"jimin baby what's wrong?!" grandma park examined, pulling out a silk handkerchief from her pocket.
"i'm sorry...i have to go" jimin yelped, standing up, leaving the house, he wiped his leaking eyes as he stumbled over to the only place he felt safe.
once the familiar place came into view, he saw a certain someone laid out on the front garden, playing with the grass. they had a giant hoodie on; the hood up hiding the back of the familiar face. jimin walked up to them, looking down at the fluffy figure with glassy eyes.
"mini! what's wrong baby?!" yoongi asked making grabby hands so jimin would sit on the grass with him.
"i-i don't understand why she doesn't like me anymore" jimin whimpered, letting yoongi pull him into his warm arms. yoongi was fully aware who she was, making him turn into protective mode.
"did she hurt you again mini? i'll go give her a piece of my mind!" yoongi mumbled; growling the last part, his arms wrapped protectively around jimin, who was snuggled up in his lap.
"she tries sending me to these places to get help, because what i'm doing isn't right to her!" jimin mumbled feeling protected by yoongi's loving hug.
"she's the one who needs help jiminie, you're not doing anything wrong, baby~" yoongi said calmly, brushing the hair from jimin's forehead back, giving him a quick kiss on his now bare forehead.
"you promise...?"
"i promise" yoongi replied, taking jimin's tiny hands, gently pecking them both.
"my um grandparents came to stay for a while..." jimin mumbled, watching yoongi's calm manner become slightly agitated.
"but they said they don't mind me liking boys~" jimin giggled, looking up at yoongi with sparkly eyes.
"jimin that's great!" yoongi exclaimed, pulling jimin down onto his chest, hugging him tightly. jimin giggled his cheeks slightly flushed, he liked it when he was with yoongi, he felt at home.
the two were rolling in the grass – that needed a decent trim – when they heard a car pull onto the drive. the two recognised the said man; it was mr min.
"it's your dad" jimin said, still being hugged on the grass.
"no shit" yoongi replied, bopping jimin's cute nose before letting go of the younger male.
mr min walked onto the grass taking little notice of jimin and yoongi who were laid in a tight hug.
"ah, young love" he mumbled under his breathe as he opened the front door.
both the smol boys felt their cheeks flush, hearing the man's words. yoongi was worried about his dad, he hadn't been home in three days, this was the first time yoongi had seen him in the past few days; looking some-what sober for once.
"he doesn't pay attention to me anymore" yoongi pouted, wanting things to go back to the days when he was younger; when it was him and his dad against the world.
"well, my mum doesn't love me anymore" jimin joked, copying yoongi's adorable pout.
"you wanna do something crazy?" yoongi asked, a playful smirk creeping onto his pink lips.
"like...what?" jimin replied. taking a handful of grass and placing it on yoongi's crossed legs.
"i don't know something stupid that'll probably get us in trouble...but it will be memorable; something we can look back on and smile at. something we can tell our grandchildren about" yoongi babbled using aggressive hand gestures, along with dramatic facial expressions.
"but isn't that bad..." jimin asked sheepishly.
yoongi shook his head, his hair tickling his forehead, he then thought about it with a cute puzzled face as he had a debate in his mind. "it's only bad if we get in trouble" he grinned.
"hmmmm....okay! if its with you i'm good~" jimin beamed, leaning his head against the older's shoulders.
"yay! let's borrow my dad's car~" yoongi smirked, rubbing his hands together like a villain from some sort of pantomime. jimin smiled before his tired eyes widened.
"you mean where gonna―"
"that's exactly what i mean, baby~" yoongi concluded, giving jimin's cheek a quick kiss before sprinting into the house, jimin soon followed, getting up and waddling behind.
as they both stood in the hallway, yoongi studied the room, looking around in search of where his father was, yoongi then dropped to the wooden floor rolling over to the archway that connected the hall to the living room.
"this ain't no spy kids shit" jimin sassed, looking over at the older male who was on the floor in some awkward squatting position.
"shush you dick wipe!" yoongi hissed, quickly peeking into the living room, noticing his dad was bang out on the couch his mouth wide open as his body was comfortably positioned on the fluffy couch. his eyes glistened when he saw the ring of keys sat on the oak coffee table.
"get your ass up" jimin sighed, pulling yoongi off the ground by the back of his shirt collar, he then strutted into the living room, standing right in front of the sleeping mr min before snatching the keys.
"jimin!" yoongi whisper-yelled.
jimin glamorously spun around facing yoongi, who was still at the door way, the boy then wandered into the kitchen, yoongi could hear a rustling sound and began biting his nails - a habit he had when he was anxious - the older then saw jimin strut back through the living with a cheshire-cat-like grin on his squishy face. he continued to strut until he reached yoongi in the hall.
"i know, i'm sensational" jimin winked, handing the keys to yoongi, as he stuffed packets of chips under his arm, following the smug yoongi who was spinning the keys on his middle finger playfully.
