I reflected as I ran on the school tracks. This was my ninth lap. As my heartbeat rate increased and I kept getting breathless I thought about what had happened.

Why couldn't I say anything after he told me to move?. Why did I just stand there like some idiot?

All my well prepared speeches all rendered useless like that with just one word.

Move!

Aah! I screamed as I threw myself on the race track, the sun in my face. Ahhh! I'm soo frustrated!."

"Then take some water".A familiar voice said as I wiped the beads of sweat off my face. "You look like you need it". I looked up to see Elaine, the nice girl from the cafeteria. Apparently she wasn't done talking.

"Why are you running so much"?. "Are you trying out for the team"? she asked as she offered me a cold bottle. I shook my head.
"Are you doing a weight loss course"? I laughed and shook my head. I'm not exactly fat".

Then why are you here? At this time of the morning running so much?

" I'm punishing myself" I informed her.
Hm? Punishing yourself? What did you do so wrong? She asked me curiously.

"I couldn't give a good reply to a certain person". 'I embarrassed myself totally. I explained.

"Umm were you confessing your love or something"?

Aaahh!!! I screamed, scaring Elaine in the process.
Why would I do that?
Just imagining my self confessing to Jayden is enough motivation to make me want to jump off the roof myself.

I explained what had happened to her. She listened carefully not interrupting until the end.

But why couldn't I say anything after that?!. I asked her. "Oh I'm going to die from being unprepared! I whine.

My mom always says this, but I never knew it was going to come into play here.

Okay fine, Elaine said dismissing everything with a wave of her hand.

Answer this! she said showing her forefinger with the rest of her fingers tucked in.

Are you happy now? Have you finally got out all
your frustrations?

"Obviously not, I said, making a face. Then! She said standing up and pulling a frustrated me up with her. "I know what you need!.

What? I asked. She looked at me with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

A touch of creamy goodness! she said with a serious expression. Like a doctor prescribing medicine for a fatally ill patient.

Ughhh... please! Noo!! I complained.

I begged Elaine as she dragged me all the way to the snackbar. Elaineeee! I'm tired.
"Give me one reason why we shouldn't go and get some ice cream".Elaine asked.
Is it about money? I'll pay! She offered. "It's not the money"I said slightly annoyed.

I'll give you two" I said in response to her earlier request of one reason.
"One, its too hot today".
"Two, the distance from here to the snackbar which is on the other side of the school is waay too much"!
I might die before we get there"!

Elaine rolled her eyes. Also! I said as I thought of yet another reason.

"In the time that we get the ice cream and head back to class it might have melted"! I say proudly.

"TskTskTsk". "You're probably the queen of excuses!".
Elaine said shaking her head. Haven't you heard that ice cream wipes all your tears away?

I make a face. I haven't heard that before, but that was to be debated later."I'm not crying right now! I interject.
"Maybe not now, but from the look of things you'll be soon. She said certainly.

"LET'S JUST GO"! She screams. Okay okay. Fine! I scream back.
Ten minutes later and we're walking around eating our ice creams. They were less expensive than I thought.
This being such an expensive school I thought the ice cream would cost more than the usual, but I was wrong.

I had a strawberry flavored cone in my hand and Elaine had a vanilla one. We were just walking around since contrary to my initial theory, we still had some time to kill before class.

She offered me a taste of hers, but I refused. "I like strawberry more" I said. She shook her head. " You don't know what you're missing".

I learnt to balance myself on thin rails" she said. She climbed the small wall that had been made to separate the flowers from the walkway and started to walk on it, spreading her arms for balance.

She started to walk, taking a step at a time. All was going well until she suddenly pitched forward.

From that point everything took a downturn. She started to wobble, lost her footing and then fell. I let out a small scream. It wasn't the fact that she had fallen, it was who she had the unfortunate fate of bumping into.

She had fallen to the ground, and dropped her ice cream, but not before dropping some of it on his shoes. She stood up, brushing the dirt off herself, ready to apologise to whoever it was.

But it wasn't just anybody, it was Jayden!
Elaine immediately apologised when she saw who it was.
"I'm so sorry" s...senior"!. For once I thought she was going to say sir. Jayden, who was initially looking straight ahead turned to face her.

You're sorry?! He said slowly." If sorry was enough to fix everything there would be no need for policemen or the law" he said matter- of- factly.

T.t..then umm I' ll replace the shoes for you. I'll get you the exact same pair immediately! she begged.

Are you richer than me?
Huh?.........

Even if you were, which I highly doubt, these shoes were custom made from Florence just for me. So even if you were richer you still wouldn't be able to get them done immediately.

Umm... then I'll do anything! She said hastily. She had no idea what was coming.
Anything? he repeated.
Anything! she replied. I knew it was a trap the moment she uttered those words.
Jayden turned slowly to his friends. Wendell and Jake smiled back at him, but Jenai just looked away.

He cleared his throat, and said to Elaine as he stretched out his leg.
Lick it!.

I was mortified. "What did he just say? "I must have heard wrong I thought. Elaine was probably thinking the same thing.

S..senior please can you repeat what you said?.
I said Lick it!. Jayden said impatiently.
Please I beg you senior. I didn't mean to do this. Please. She begged. Tears forming in her eyes.

I was on the brink of tears myself. She sincerely apologised didn't she? Why couldn't he just let it go?.

"Didn't you say you were going to do anything possible? Jayden asked her.
"Y..yes. She replied tears flowing down her face.
Then lick it! He said smugly.

Elaine knelt down, her hands on her knees, tears streaming down her face. Jayden smiled victoriously. Just as she lowered her face towards his shoe, I touched her shoulder and stopped her, shaking my head.
She looked up at me as I pulled her up from the ground.
I turned to face Jayden." Why are you doing this"?. Hasn't she already apologised? It's not like she poured acid on you it was just ice cream! All it needs is a single wipe and everything is back to normal!.

Jayden looked down at me surprised.
What is this? Are you new here?! And...second year girl, what makes you think you can speak to me so informally?

"The american style of addressing seniors is restricted here, so you better learn to speak to your superiors in a more respectful manner!.

Then, right at that moment Wendell stepped forward and whispered something into Jayden's ears. He laughed and turned to me. "So you're the Wonder Girl rubbish everyone has been talking about?

I blinked. Rubbish?!
"Well this is a disappointment," he said sizing me up. I was hoping for a more shapely S-line girl you know?

"No I don't know". I said sharply. "And I'm super glad that a person like you is disappointed I spat out.

This time I won't let him win.
For a moment Jayden is taken aback. He just wasn't used to this sort of thing. People talking back at him like this. But, he quickly recovered.

" I see you don't know your place huh"? You don't know how to stay out of others affairs and mind your own business?
Is it your motto to be nosing around other people's affairs?
She's not just anyone I said gesturing towards Elaine. She's my friend. Elaine looked at me tearfully, clutching her handkerchief.

"That makes her problems my problems. I guess you don't know anything about true friendship do you?!

"Friendship? okay!" Let's see some of that powerful friendship shall we?.

He said looking at his friends. You lick it and I'll forget all this happened! He said with a wan smile.

Narrator's POV
What? Jessie said stunned.
If you lick it instead of your friend and show me some of that "powerful friendship", I'll forget what just happened.

Jayden said, making some finger quotes. Jessie sighed, about to say something when a plan suddenly formed in her mind. Slowly, she bent down as if to do Jayden's bidding.

Jenai looked away unable to watch what was going on. Jayden gave a satisfied smirk thinking he had won. Suddenly Jessie screamed and pushed the ice cream cone in Jayden's face.

Jessie's POV

I smashed the ice cream cone in his face with all my might. He jerked back surprised and fell to the ground.

Ahh! He shouted clearly very angry at me. He touched his hand to his face, it came back covered in pink frosting. I didn't give a damn.

What? I don't know how to mind my own business? Yeah! I probably don't know how to stay out of the way of stupid rich kids who leech off their parents and then think the whole world is theirs!

And what did you say again? Is it my motto to be nosing around other people's affairs? Is it also your motto to be pestering other people's children?!

If you have nothing to do you should sleep! I shouted down at him. He looked up at me from his current position on the ground, with a shocked stupefied expression, my ice cream dripping down his face.

Did you earn all that money? I earn my money I work hard for it!!. I shouted down at him.I'm not sure ice cream stains, but if if it does, send it over to us, said sticking our advertising poster on his forehead.

I took out a couple of five cedi notes from my purse and threw them at him.
They fluttered over him like confetti at a wedding.These should be enough, I said gesturing to the money all over him. I grabbed Elaine 's hand and ran away.

Aahhh!!!! Jayden screamed hyperventilating. What is that thing??!!
Wendell and Jake stood behind him,surprised looks on their faces. Jenai stared after the retreating girls. "Who really is she? He thought.

Later in their private lounge, the P4 were hanging out. Jake and Wendell were playing a guitar game, talking and laughing as they remembered what had happened in the afternoon.

Jenai was sitting in a corner, selecting classical music pieces. A very furious Jayden on the other hand was angrily throwing darts at a dartboard in the corner of the room.

Jake turned to look at Jayden. "What's up with him"? he asked Wendell. "He's been like that all day.
"Didn't you see what happened to him today? "Wonder girl gave him some shock treatment Wendell laughed again,recollecting the afternoon's events.
"You don't see that everyday you know!

Jake excused himself from the game and went to Jayden.
"Hey man" he said, putting his arm on Jayden's shoulder.
"Leave me alone! he said,shrugging Jake's arm off his shoulder. Don't you see I'm thinking?

"That Jennifer or Jessica or Jezebel or whatever her name is. I'm going to make her pay! He said throwing another dart at the advertising sticker Jessie had stuck on his forehead.

Jake smiled. C'mon Jay! He said using Jayden's pet name. Why are you bothering your head?

Just do it like you always do! All you have to do is give the boys a call. Wonder Girl will receive her parcel first thing in the morning" he shrugged.

Jayden smiled at him, finally realising what he was going to do. He jumped on Jake, putting him in a choke hold and ruffling his hair. "You little rascal!" he laughed. Why didn't I think of that? He released Jake and removed Jessie's sticker, crushing it with his fist.

Wonder Girl, you've saved others. Let's see you save thine self! he smiled wickedly.
