"I fucking hate school. I despise it so much, why do I have to go? Mom, what benefit does measuring 3D shapes give me in life?"
"It helps you know how big your head is." His mother answered.
"And what's that supposed to mean?"
"You know what they say, the bigger the head, the smaller the brain." Yuhyun remarked, rolling along the red shopping cart.
"Wow thanks for your encouraging words mother." The latter rolled his eyes, picking up a couple spiral notebooks and throwing them in the cart.
"No problem son."
Yuhyun pushed along the cart as her son piled in school supplies and food. Mostly food. If it wasn't already obvious, the two were school shopping for Donghyuck.
The latter said that he didn't want to go shopping for hell but his mom still dragged him out to the supermarket. So here he was, with his mom, school supply shopping. Well more like food supply shopping but y'know.
It was a couple days after that depressing day and Donghyuck was still trying to adjust to not having the boys around him 25/8. He was having a hard time in doing so and same goes for the other six.
But he had to get used to it sooner or later. At least he still had his hyungs at school. He'll be okay.
Huh, wasn't that a lie. His father was coming to visit later this evening and he was nervous as hell. He didn't know how to feel about this sudden visit from the man that physically and mentally abused him.
His mom had said that she couldn't really say no because he technically had the right to visit. It was just odd that he, after many years without sparing a glance at them, suddenly comes back. It was just weird.
After their little shopping trip, the two made it back home to tidy up the house a bit. Donghyuck sweeping the house while his mother tided up things.
Right after they finished the sound of the doorbell rung throughout the house, "Speak of the devil."
Yuhyun made her way to the door and hesitantly opened it to reveal the man who she once loved.
"Hey." The man greeted, offering her a small smile.
"Don't 'hey' me mister. Now tell me the actual reason for this visit." She demanded, still blocking the doorway of the house.
Yuhyun is a very cut to the chase woman, and she wasn't going to take any bullshit from her ex-husband.
"Okay then, still as feisty as always I see."
"Just tell me why you're here. I know you aren't here to just visit. There's something more to it, I just know it."
The man just sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.
"Look, I came here to tell you that I want to come back. I want to rekindle what we had. I know I fucked up big time in the past and I've learned from it. I was wrong to abuse our own kid just because he was gay. I know that now, so please? Can we start over?" His eyes were hopeful as he stared at his ex-lover in front of him.
Yuhyun's eyes turned cold," I'm sorry but I can't do that. What's done was done and I could never forgive you for such crime against my baby. Even if I did want to get back with you again, I don't think Donghyuck will be comfortable with you around."
"Is it really that hard to forgive and forget?"
"Yes. In this case, yes it is. You've hurt my child Sinwoo, how could I forgive you? More or less forget what you've done? You've hurt me too you know. I loved you. I loved you so much to the point where I didn't even believe my own child when he said he was getting abused by you." She took in a shaky breath as she quickly wiped away her tears.
"So please, just leave. Never come back. Ever." Before the man could even reply, she had already slammed the door in his face.
From the outside, Sinwoo didn't even try to knock on the door. He just left. This was his consequence for his reckless actions, and he had no choice but to accept it.
"Mom? Are you okay?" Donghyuck had heard everything go down. He even heard his dad's voice for the first time in forever.
"What do you think dummy?" She asked back, still trying to stop her tears from coming down.
That was when the boy rushed to his mother and engulfed her in a bone crushing hug. She reciprocated it, with one hands rubbing the back of his head and the other around his shoulders.
"I'm sorry mom."
"Why? You have no reason to be sorry Hyuck."
"Because of me, you had to lose the love of your life."
Yuhyun let a small chuckle slip from her lips,"Oh Hyuck, you have to understand that some sacrifices are needed to be made somewhere in a lifetime. You're my child Hyuck, and I'd sacrifice my life for you. So losing Sinwoo is close to nothing. Yes, I did love him but the past should stay in the past. I've moved on and I'm quite happy with just being a single pringle again with my son."
Donghyuck had nothing to say. He couldn't because he was choking up with tears. His mother understood and just stood there, comfortingly patting his head.

"Renjun? Honey? Are you still awake?"
"No."
Huiyin sighed as she opened up her son's bedroom door, to reveal the boy curled up on his bed surrounded by his moomin plushies. The room was dark due to him having his blinds closed, and due to the fact that night had bestowed upon them. This was the scene you would see everyday since the day they had left the villa.
"Renjun." His mother had made her way to her son's bed, sitting herself on the edge of it after turning on his lamp.
"Yes?"
"I'm trying okay? I talked to your father yesterday and he went off. Again. I've tried everything and I think I might have to leave it to my last resort Jun."
"And what's that?" Renjun asked mindlessly.
"To tell him that your in a relationship."
That was when the boy jolted up from his bed. "WHAT?"
"Shh, your father's sleeping a couple rooms down." Huiyin warned, shushing her son.
"What?!" He repeated, now in a whisper-shout.
"That Jaemin boy can pull off a girl can't he?" She asked, making Renjun's eyes widen.
"Mom, that's the most ridiculously ridiculous plan I've ever heard. And I'm friends with Donghyuck for crying out loud."
"Hey, you never know! It may work."
"I'm pretty sure dad can figure out that Jaemin is a boy with or without makeup and a wig." Renjun stated matter-of-factly.
Huiyin let out another sigh,"Then what are we supposed to do? Let you go on marrying someone you don't love?"
Renjun thought about it.
There wasn't any way he could get out of this. He was still underage, which sucked because he was only one year away from being 18.
He was at the point of just giving up. The boy was practically cornered, might as well just accept his fate and go one with life right?
But the tugging at his heart said otherwise.
Brushing it off he answered his mother's question," I might as well."
