1 • Friday Nights

You quietly slip into the busy kitchen, exchanging greetings with a few cooks before tactically dodging them as they scrambled around.

"Hi Jin," you crouch down at the line where the head chef, who also happens to be one of your closest friends, is putting the finishing touches on a few dishes. His furrowed brows lift at the sound of you sweet voice and his plump lips curl into a smile.

"Baby girl, where have you been, it's Friday night?" He wipes the sweat off of his forehead with his sleeve. You look over and see the tickets multiplying with each passing second and Jin groans before turning his back to check on the steaks he had resting on a rack.

"My tutoring session went on for longer than I expected," you call out and you see his head bob as he slices the meat, "you think he'll be mad?"

"Y/N."

Shit.

You brace yourself for the death stare from your boss. You whirl around and almost crash into his broad chest as he towers over you with his arms crossed. You meet his intense gaze before cracking a nervous smile. He shakes his head disapprovingly and swiftly makes his way to his office, knowing you will trail after.

You look back and meet Jin's sad eyes as he mouths a sorry. You shake your head with a smile in an attempt to reassure him, and yourself, before following.

"Shut the door." The loud commotion from the kitchen staff seizes once the wooden door shuts, adding to your nervousness. You bite your lip and fiddle with your fingers as you sit in the leather chair in front of the man's desk.

He huffs before tossing his glasses in front of him and pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration.

"This is the third time this month, Y/N," he starts.

"Mr. Kim I know but-

"I gave you this job because I understand how difficult things can be with your father's condition but this," he sighs, "this is getting ridiculous. I need somebody reliable, especially on Friday nights."

"Sir, I know and I'm so sorry. Please just let me prove how reliable I am tonight," your head drops as your voice lowers, "just give me one more chance. I need this job."

He sighs once again, "you're lucky I have a soft spot for you." Your face brightens and you look up to meet his dimples on display as he sends you a warm smile.

You jump up from your seat and make your way around his desk before throwing your arms around him. "Ah Namjoon I could kiss you right now!"

He playfully rolls his eyes as he awkwardly pats your back to which you let out a giggle at his awkwardness. You pull away and catch the pink tint of his cheeks. "Y-yeah whatever, just get out there and get to work."

You pick up your bag and crack open the door, allowing the noise to invade his small office once again. "Yes sir," you lift your hand to your forehead and salute him before darting out and making your way towards the changing room. You send Jin two thumbs up to which he exhales in relief. You hear his high pitched voice begin to yell at a cook over the way he is cutting an onion, making you chuckle as you push the velvet door open.

You peel off your lilac blouse and put on a black V-neck and name tag. You pull your fingers through your curls and tie your apron around your waist which has your notepad and pens secure in it already.

As expected, the place is packed. You nod your head to the loud music booming as you begin to enter in your information to the POS system so you can begin to take orders. You mouth the words to the popular tune before you feel a smack on the back of your ass to which you instinctively catch the hand and whirl around.

"Yoongi," you groan before squeezing the hand and pushing his chest.

The man hisses at the pain and chuckles. "Chill out, that's for coming late."

"It's not my fault," you grumble.

"Mhmm," he reaches for a stack of napkins beside you, "and I'm straight."

"Well you are, aren't you?" You grin at the way his brows furrow at your tease.

"Bi," he huffs, "not the same. Just for that, you can start off by handling that table." Your eyes follow the direction he points at and you frown.

You watch a group of men roar with laughter and howl obnoxiously. They shamelessly grind on the women around to the beat of the music and clink their glasses together as they down shot after shot.

"Look like college kids like you, pretty sure I had to card handsome over there with the baby face." You look at the man with blonde hair and crescent eyes as he smiles for a picture with his friend. You feel a pat on your shoulder, "Good luckkkk."

You gulp and carefully inspect each face as you slowly approach the table. Just as Yoongi had mentioned, they're all handsome but you let out a sigh of relief as you don't recognize any. One spots you walking towards them and mischievously grins before leaning in to whisper something in his friend's ear. You push the action to the back of your head once you arrive to the table.

"Hi guys, my name's Y/N and I'll be your server tonight. Can I get you started with any appetizers?" You send them a friendly smile.

The one you saw whispering clears his throat and grins, "hello Y/N, it's my best friend's birthday today," he throws an arm over the shoulder of the man next to him who gives you the brightest smile you have ever seen, "and we were wondering if he can get some um- special treatment."

You catch the man with the baby face snicker before answering. "I see, well happy birthday.." you trail off.

"Hoseok," he answers.

"What would you like?"

The whispering man sits up straight and leans on the table with his elbows, "we were wondering if you would," he looks around at the others and they nod in a fit of giggles, "if you would sit on his face."

Your friendly smile falters as the men roar with laughter. You were used to lewd comments from drunk men at your job, but never one so direct. You couldn't help but feel a bit uncomfortable and disgust must have been written all over your features because the man next to him with a bunny smile quickly seizes his laughter.

"Um, can we get the nachos and buffalo wings to start us off," he timidly asks and you silently nod before scribbling it onto your notepad.

"Jungkook," the man who made the comment scolds but he pays him no mind. The others stop their own laughter and the table soon falls into an awkward silence.

"Tae," Jungkook narrows his eyes and the man scoffs.

"S-sorry, we're a bit drunk," he apologizes, "can we get some mozzarella sticks too please?"

He avoids direct eye contact and you can't help but feel guilty over the tense atmosphere now present at the once lively table. You knew the comment was harmless, it was just drunk college boys trying to let loose on their friend's birthday. You couldn't hold the comment against them.

"Alright, it will be out soon," you rip the note off your page and look over to the man named Hoseok, "and next time, " you lean into his ear, "we should probably go somewhere quieter for that." You wink and the man's face looks more flushed than it was before.

The others stare at you wide-eyed before you whirl around to go put in their order. You smile to yourself when you hear an outburst of giggles and the returning sound of the clinking of glasses.

The rest of the night goes smoothly as you were able to be your bubbly and friendly self to the men, along with your other customers to ensure a nice stack of tips you could show Namjoon at the end of the night. As the night turns into the early hours of the morning, the rush slows down but that doesn't stop the men from continuing to down their drinks.

"I think we should kick them out soon," Yoongi says to you as he attempts to balance 6 empty beer bottles in his arms.

"They're so drunk," you snort, "look one's already passed out." You both exchange a laugh at the sight of Hoseok sprawled across the table like a starfish. The rest are slumped in their booth, fighting in internal battle to keep their eyes open. You see a bulky man in the corner of your eye start towards them and you don't even realize you're on you way to stop him.

"Teo, wait," you grab the man's large shoulder, "don't kick them out, they're too drunk to drive, let me help them, my shift ends in five minutes."

The large man huffs before giving you a worried look, "are you sure? That's a lot of baggage, Y/N."

"It's fine," you smile reassuringly and he hesitantly nods.

You turn your attention back to the men and the one named Tae's glistening eyes meet yours. He flashes a cute boxy smile which fills you with an unusual feeling of nostalgia. You smile back, your stomach practically doing somersaults.

"Hey um-

"Hiiii," he drunkenly responds, propping his head up with his elbow on the table.

You smile at the cute response, "you guys paid your tab like an hour ago, did you guys drive here?"

"Uber," you manage to catch in between hiccups.

"Do you need help ordering one back?"

"N-no, me do it," he pulls out his phone but abruptly stops, completely forgetting what he was doing. He turns back to meet your watchful gaze, "hiiiiii."

"O-okay you boys are very drunk. Let me just go and get my things and I'll be right back."

Taehyung watches you leave and his eyes cannot help but drift downwards, and boy did he not regret it. He had been admiring you and it all night, from subtle flirts you sent their way, all the way to the way your hair bounced when you giggled.

Yet he could not help but cringe at the sleezy comment he made earlier, the moment your beautiful smile faltered and all he could manage to do was continue laughing. He wishes his mind was not clouded by the alcohol present in his system so he could deliver a formal apology instead of make a fool of himself like he knew he was doing at the very moment.

"Hoseokkkk," he pokes the birthday boy's cheek and he stirs before crawling to a fetal position on the table. "Guys come onnn," he laughs, "I don't want the pretty waitress to see us like this anymoreee."

He stumbles around earning a howl of laughter from the men who lazily try to leave as well. Jungkook and Jimin balance a completely hammered Hoseok on their shoulders as they drag him toward the exit where Teo is. They hear your footsteps approaching and try to walk faster, but Jimin accidentally trips on Teo's foot, sending all three to land face first on the sidewalk outside.

Teo snickers but you send him a scolding glare which shuts him up. Taehyung crouches down to retrieve Hoseok's phone, pressing his limp finger to the home button to unlock it. He then hands it to you before joining the three on the floor. "Just just put in the last address and Jiminie and him can go there, they live together."

You do what he says and in a couple of minutes you are able to send them home safely.

2 down.

2 to go.

You look back at the two and they are belting out a tune you do not recognize as they support themselves on each other.

"Do you guys need me to order you an Uber too?" You inquire as you cautiously approach them.

"Yes, that would be lovelyyyy," Taehyung turns to you and catches your face with his large hands, "you are lovely. Mmm pretty shirt for a pretty girl."

You widen your eyes as you slowly remove his hands from your face. You cannot help but feel drawn to his chocolate orbs and you feel yourself almost being swallowed by how deep they are.

"I-I need your phone," is all you are able to muster out, causing the man before you to fumble into his back pocket and unlock his phone for you. "Um, what's the address?"

"1365 um um," he loses his train of thought once again and Jungkook runs up to him and joins his side. "Eureka Street!" he finishes for him.

Both simultaneously begin yelling Eureka to the sky and you can't help but giggle at their playfulness. But then the realization hits you like a truck.

You live on Eureka Street.

"Um, I can actually drive you there, I live kinda close by."

Jungkook and Taehyung's faces light up like children seeing presents on Christmas morning.

"You mean it!" Jungkook shakes your shoulders and his beer breath wafts into your face causing you to scrunch your nose before pushing him away.

"Yeah it's no trouble, my car is this way." You point to your silver car parked in the side parking lot to which the boys feverishly race to. You glance back to give Teo a thumbs up knowing he had been staring at your interaction intently. He grunts in annoyance before shutting the door which makes you chuckle.

It doesn't take long for the sound of Jungkook's snores in the backseat to replace the light radio music you had been playing during your ride home. In the corner of your eye, you catch Taehyung staring at the side of your face. Imagining how exhausted and disheveled you must look after working all night, you begin to grow self conscious.

"Is there something on my face?" You ask.

"Shit, sorry." Taehyung internally curses for outing himself, "I was just admiring."

You dismiss the drunk comment, and he sighs before sinking back into his seat. He takes note of how calm you seem driving two complete strangers home and cannot help but feel intrigued, especially considering his comment from earlier.

"Um, s-sorry again about what I said. I just wanted Hobi to have a good birthday, he gets pretty nervous talking to girls and I wanted to relieve the tension." He stares straight at the road out of nervousness.

"Don't worry about it."

An awkward silence accompanied by Jungkook's melodious snores take over the car ride once again. As you get closer and closer to their home by the second, Taehyung begins to feel the pressure of making sure he remembers you and vice versa in the morning.

"Taehyung!" He suddenly blurts out making you jump and Jungkook come back to life.

"Jungkook!" The sleeping boy instinctively yells out in response.

"Okay thank you. I assume those are your names." Both boys nod and you sigh.

You yawn and Taehyung's eyes soften at the sight. He looks around the car in an effort to find something to spark up as much of a conversation his drunken mind would allow him to, so you wouldn't fall asleep behind the wheel.

There's a Winnie the Pooh key chain tied around your rear view mirror.

Cute.

He spots a carton of rainbow goldfish opened in the passenger compartment to which he fights the urge to lean over and pop a couple in his mouth.

Nope. Not enough.

His long legs accidentally knock over a stack of textbooks you had piled on the floor and he crouches down to put them back. Reading what the one on top says, he lets out a dramatic gag.

"Calculus?"

Jungkook overhears and joins his friend, "gross."

You chuckle from the reaction you know too well, "that's my brother's, I drive him to school sometimes. The rest are for my tutoring sessions."

Taehyung shuffles through the various textbooks, eyes widening as he reads over the different courses of math you tutor. His breath hitches when he gets to the last one, the hellish word that has haunted him since high school scribed at the top.

Trigonometry.

He smiles cheerfully.

You pull up to the blue house and turn to find a gum wrapper and a pen being shoved into your face.

"Take it take it take it," you hear the man's whiny voice, "please I've always struggled with trig and I need to see you again."

You hesitantly take the pen wrapped in his long fingers, "um I usually just tutor high school students."

As if finally realizing the desperation in his voice, Taehyung clears his throat, "oh yeah, shit. I mean of course you do, sorry."

You find yourself slowly succumbing to the boy's puppy face when he cutely sticks out his bottom lip. You scribble down your number before handing it back to him, a boxy grin now replacing his frown.

"Thank you! I will fucking treasure this," he kisses the paper, "I hope I can see you again pretty waitress." He stares down at the wrapper and you giggle at the fact that he has no clue what he just said.

"Yeah, no problem." You glance in your rear view mirror and sigh.

"Can you get him out of my car?"
