Maddie's POV
I was seated in my car all afternoon when I followed Alex back home, I was thinking of how to save this. I never wanted this to happen or even hurt him.

The good thing was he didn't leave which means he's obviously not doing anything crazy with friends. I summoned enough courage and finally decided to go in.

I opened the door quietly and he wasn't in the living room, I don't know why I was tip toeing but I did, I went into our room and there he was seated by the edge of our bed facing the window.

"Finally decided to come back in huh?" He said still staring at the window.

"Am so sorry Alex, I really am I don't know what I was thinking. I should have told you before I did it but I wasn't thinking straight I just wanted to help but-,"  he immediately cuts me off half way pushing the lamp off the bedstand hurting himself.

I immediately ran over to help him but he shrugs me off.

"Don't touch me, I can do it myself." He went over to get a rag from the bathroom while I stood there unsure of what to do.

I waited not saying anything and all I heard was the water running before he came out to face me.

"You know what hurts most is the fact that I gave up everything for you, I've been nothing but loyal to you Mads and you do this?" He said not even looking at me.

I couldn't even justify what I did and the right thing to do was to apologise but he's not even giving me that.

"You shouldn't even be here, why don't you run back to your lover." He walked out of the room and I followed him immediately.

"You know what Alex, forget it I've done nothing but feel sorry ever since I did what I did and am trying to apologise but you're not even giving me a chance. I think you actually didn't want this to work afterall." I finish it off before making my way to the door before him.

"You do not walk out on me Mads," he pulled me back making us face each other. "I trusted you and you betrayed how do you expect me to come back from that?" He said without letting me go my heart beating fast from being close to him.

"And am sorry, I truly am the guilt has been killing me and I promise I will be better." I slowly said keeping in the tension I was hiding.

"You're not sorry Mads, you're sorry you got caught." He said directly before letting me go this time for real.

It felt like my world was crushed and handed to me in pieces, the way he let me go and looked at me I knew this was it, he was never going to trust me again.

I wasn't ready to lose him and if I was going to fight for this I will, I made up my mind and I wasn't giving up now.

"What does this mean for us now? You're not leaving me are you?" I asked already tearing up I've been keeping it in but I couldn't hide it any longer.

"I don't know what to tell you but I can't do this now am sorry, I need time." He said before shutting the door at my face.

I stood there staring at the door not knowing what to do next, my wedding was in a week and I ruined it all because of my selfish reasons, there's no one to blame but me.

I sat back on the bed staring at the door crying my eyes out, could this really be the end of my relationship.

Jason's POV
"What do you mean you have no idea where she is?" I was pacing the living room with my parents now, Ronnie was on the loose she had everything now and a single move would bring us down. But we had no idea where she was or how to find her.

I sat back on the sofa while my grandparents stood over me, Emma was still crying her eyes out and honestly right now what I want to do is get us out of this mess, but as usual even in his grave my dad manages to cause trouble. No I shouldn't blame him I blame my grandparents they just had to give birth to two messed up kids.

"Am really sorry Jason, I didn't know why I did it but she already threaten your life I couldn't watch you die knowing I could do something." Emma came over to me to comfort me but I stood up immediately letting go of her grip.

Suddenly one of the guards came running in to report an entry and you guessed it, Ronnie was in our house face to face.

"Mr Russo, am sorry but a lady is here claiming to be the owner of the house, I said I couldn't let her in without permission but she's been threatening to cause a scene." He came saying to us.

"Don't worry I'll handle it," I stood up immediately my grandparents followed behind me and we went to face her.

I told Emma to stay inside because I didn't want her to see what was about to happen because I knew it was definitely not going to be friendly. We went outside and there she was at the gate, that same face I saw the night they ambushed me at the office with her guards ofcourse.

"Nice to finally meet you my lovely nephew." She greeted with a Cunning smile.

"If you go down this road Ronnie you're no longer our daughter." My ma said to her but she couldn't even care less what they were saying.

Shrugging them off she faced me before finally saying something.

"Just so we're clear mom and dad I've been a Cortez for as long as I can remember, so I was never your daughter to begin with," she turned and faced me now.

"So are we doing this the easy or hard way little boy, I don't have all day." She came at me walking straight for the doors.

My security team was already charging at her but I simply told them to back down, she made her way into the house and we followed her. I didn't know what was her motive but I needed her to explain to me, she looked around then turned to me immediately. She was about to say something when he heard a gunshot, someone just got shot.
