Jason's POV
Since it was a weekend night, Alex suggested we head out for a drink after leaving Belle's place, I've been trying to limit my drinking I didn't want to get addicted to anything again but it seems with the people around me I couldn't do that.
We arrived at the club and sat and ordered the usuals, I was just quiet the whole time, I kept thinking about what Annabelle told me today. What could have possibly happened and why would Maddie do that, they had such a bright future and everyone looked up to them and now this happens, I just hope I can get through this night without saying anything.
"Can I get a shot?" I said to the bartender before Alex cuts me off.
"What do you think you're doing? You might think I forgot but you're not getting a shot on my watch." He signalled the bartender not to serve me.
"But I could on your bachelor's night!" I raised my eyebrows at him reaching for my phone in my pocket.
"Okay I forgot that one night but not on my watch, plus we needed you to loosen up. Now please chill and let's talk." He sounded serious all of a sudden.
"Sure what about?" I tried to stay chilled.
"Did Annabelle tell you anything, like what might be bothering Maddie because I feel like she's not telling me everything." He came out straight at me, I could see the hurt in his eyes and I couldn't stand watching my friend like that, but I don't know what's wrong so I can't just say what I don't fully know.
"Honestly me and Belle haven't been together much, we only talked this night so I can't really say," I brush over my hair awkwardly.
"I just don't want it to be like am rushing her into things, I really need her to be happy. She deserves so much more and am trying to--" I immediately cut him off, I just couldn't keep this up, he deserves to know.
"I heard the girls talking tonight." I blurted out before reaching for his drink and gulping it down my throat.
"And?" He simply said.
"Maddie's pregnant." I said avoiding eye contact.
"Yeah I know, it's our baby we announced it during the engagement party.". He raised his eyebrows at me confused.
"It's not for you man, I don't know who has it or how it happened but that's all I can say for now." I finally said.
He immediately stood up pacing around the bar, all eyes on us now he pushed the bottles in front of us.
"Calm down,Alex? Stop." I held him, he was screaming on top of his voice causing a scene.
"I just can't believe she would do this to me, I've been so fateful, why?" He struggled to get off my grip but I wasn't letting him go.
"Who's going to pay for this broken glass?" The manager came from behind.
"Here." I pull a few bucks out of my pants and place them on the table, leading Alex out we headed to the car.
"Don't do anything stupid please, just let Anna find out what's wrong. I mean we can't really jump into conclusion, she wouldn't do that to you just like that." I tried to reason with him but he wasn't saying much.
He leaned by the car simply shaking his hand over and over again.
"What do you think I should do? What would you do if you were in my situation?" He looked at me, but the thought alone was killing me I can't imagine Belle doing that to me, hell I won't be able to live with myself if that ever happened.
"Give her time, let her talk to you first, can you do that?"
"You don't expect me to just pretend that my soon to be wife is pregnant but it's not for me, our wedding is this coming weekend." He came at me living both me and him silence for a minute.
We didn't say a word to each other again as I watch him get inside his car and left, I really hope he doesn't do something extra, I text Belle a good night message hoping everything went well.
Annabelle's POV
"Am sorry I jumped into conclusion, you could have spoke with me Maddie. This wasn't the right to do." I tried to reason with her after spilling the beans at us.
"If I wanted your judgement I wouldn't have told you, and with all due respect Anna you have no idea what It's like to be like me. All your life you've had it all and you still do so mind the way you talk." She came at me with all arms.
"Calm down Maddie, Anna is only saying what she thinks it's right." Sophie cuts in on her facing me.
"You're not seriously supporting her on this Sophe, whatever the reason maybe it doesn't make it right, she could have spoke to any of us but instead she did this. Okay let me ask you, would you do what she did?" I faced her.
Jessica was quiet through out the reveal, maybe it was the shock or maybe, it's because it affected her as a married woman and the thought alone made her sick.
"This isn't about me right now, but come on you're being hard on her, and she's right you don't know what it's like to want something and can't get it. You've always had it all."
"Enough, nothing about this is right. She slept with a married man for God's sake, how do you think that feels, the thought of me thinking Bradley doing that to me is sickening and you're trying to tell me it's okay. Nothing can make it okay and Anna is right she could have asked for help, sure he wasn't paying her and she needed the promotion but he's not the last person on Earth with a media company, you have friends Maddie you could have come to us." Jessica finally spoke making the room silent.
I was just shocked my friends always thought of me like that, things getting handed to me on a sliver platter. I was never the one to brag so where was all this coming from. Was Sophie secretly mad at me, did I do something to her because this feels new to me.
"You know what this was a mistake I shouldn't have said anything, am leaving." Maddie stood up to leave but I went after her.
"It's pass midnight, there's no way am letting you walk out through that door." I grab her arms.
"You know it's easier to judge when your 3ft away but you can't understand my pain." She said before heading up to the room leaving me and the girls.
I needed to face Sophie, I understood Maddie's outburst but Sophie not really, she was in London for half of my life so she had no right.
"What was that about? Me not understanding wanting something huh?" I came facing her.
"It's nothing okay I just wanted to be there for Maddie." She brushed me off.
"Oh but it didn't seem like it," I said glaring at her before Jessica cuts us off.
"Enough God I can't with you all, you're out her acting like a bunch of teenagers. Sophie stop trying to please both sides and Anna not everyone has something against you so stop trying to create drama." She shut us both up, "now please can we sleep?" She let out a yawn heading up to the room too.
"She's right am sorry, I'll try and be there for both of you." Sophie said after she left.
"And sorry I was causing drama." I said casually before we both headed to sleep too.
****
We woke up the next morning and Maddie was already missing from the room, I immediately panicked and went downstairs just to find her seated taking a coffee in her PJs.
"I didn't know you were down here." I said tapping my hands on the counter.
"You thought I left again, well am still here," she said with her hands pointing at her. "Sorry about last night I just got scared and I said a lot of things I didn't mean but I promise I'll fix --'" I cut her off giving her a hug which caught her off guard.
"I should have been a better friend, but you have to tell Alex." I pulled away being serious now.
"Do I really need to, I mean what you don't know won't hurt you." She gave me a brief smile but I frowned at her. "Okay I was only kidding." She added.
We left to the living room where Sophe and Jessica were already planning on going out.
"I see smiles, this means everyone loves everyone right?" Jessica spoke first.
"Bring it in." Sophie added and we all did a group hug before the sound of the door cuts us off.
"So when were you going to tell me you betrayed me?" Alex came straight at Maddie.
