THIRTY-SEVEN
HOSEOK'S POV
Currently, Y/n and I, and Ari and Mingyu were on our double date.
Ari had planned everything and at the moment the four of us were having a picnic by some park.
Y/n and Ari were talking about something random that had to do with school and Mingyu was watching them both with a smile.
"They're very passionate when they talk, huh?" Mingyu laughs as he sips at his drink.
"Very." I say as I watch the two of them waving their hands in the air, emphasizing some of their words to make it sound more dramatic.
"Want to step off and we can talk?" Mingyu then asks. Even though I wasn't exactly sure what there was to talk about, I agreed anyway.
Once we parted from the girls, Mingyu and I sat down at some bench a few feet away.
The girls were still visible from where we were too.
"So what's up?" I ask, still unsure what we had to talk about that pertained to needing to be away from the girls.
"I just wanted to apologize for Joshua's behavior. I know he can be a dick and I don't want you to feel uncomfortable. Yeah he use to like y/n but I'm sure you know by now why they didn't work out." Mingyu says as he pulls his lips in.
"Yeah I'm aware. I don't know why you're friends with someone like that honestly." I say and Mingyu sighs.
"We've been friends since we were kids. I know what he did was messed up but he swore it would never happen again and I believe him. I know that might make me a bad person but I don't want to lose him as a friend ya know. I feel terrible for not stopping it right away but I'm just glad I did. Y/n didn't deserve that." Mingyu sighs.
It was obvious he was still beating himself up over it and that saddened me.
Yeah, it was a messed up situation but it's not like he was the one doing it. Joshua was the real asshole here.
Even after what Mingyu said, that wouldn't change anything. I still didn't like Joshua, with good reason.
"Anyway man I just want to apologize. Joshua really did like y/n, despite how he acts. That's the only reason he acts like that towards you but I promise, you don't have to worry about him. He's not the type to break up relationships believe it or not. He's happy she's happy, even if he doesn't show it." Mingyu says as he leans back against the bench.
I glance over at y/n who looks at me with a smile and waves. I do the same as I lean back against the bench as well.
"Then at least we have that in common because all I want is for her to be happy as well." I say and Mingyu chuckles from beside me.
"You two are so cheesy. It's cute though. You know, I'm glad I met you man. You're an awesome dude I hope you know that." Mingyu grins as he puts his fist out for me to bump it.
When I do he smiles wider. "I hope we'll stay in touch when you move back. I'm sure this won't be the last we see of each other." He says and I nod. "It won't be, don't worry."
Mingyu nods as he stands, tossing his finger in the direction of they girls.
"Alright well, we should head back before they get too bored on their own." He says then laughs.
"Yeah, like that would happen." I scoff as I stand up too, both of us making our way over to them.
As soon as we do, y/n pulls me down beside her and snuggles her head into the crook of my neck.
"Little guy chat? What about?" Ari laughs as she stuffs a grape into her mouth.
"You know, sports! Motorcycles, all that good stuff." Mingyu says and y/n scoffs instantly, not buying that. Neither of them question it though.
After our picnic, the four of us go to the movies to see some comedy Ari and Y/n picked out and then afterwards Y/n drops Ari and Mingyu off, leaving just the two of us.
We stop outside of my apartment and y/n turns the car off and turns to me.
"So what did you two really talk about? I doubt you were talking about motorcycles and sports." Y/n laughs and I grin as I shrug.
"I don't know I really love sports. So fun and sweaty. They're the best!" I say sarcastically which causes y/n to shake her head.
"You know what, it doesn't matter. I'm just glad the two of you have bonded. It was nice seeing you smiling and happy." Y/n says as she reaches for my hand.
"Likewise. You and Ari really are like two peas in a pod huh?" I say and Y/n smiles instantly.
"Absolutely. She's my best friend after all. I love her." Y/n says with a genuine smile.
I smiled at her smile. It was just so cute and I loved seeing y/n happy and talking about the things she loved and that brought her joy.
"Are you sure she won't be upset if you study abroad for college? She might miss you too much." I say and Y/n shakes her head.
"Don't worry, she can come visit. I'd love to introduce her to Namjoon I'm sure the two of them would become best friends." Y/n laughs and I smile as I watch her eyes light up as she talks about coming to Seoul.
I loved the idea of having y/n in Seoul for who knows how long.
Especially the thought of us living together while she's there was even more exciting.
I wasn't sure exactly what the future had in store for us but I just had a feeling,
It was gonna be something amazing.
